"MGM is a BIG hotel. It doesn't have that warm feeling like New York New York, Ceasars, Venetian, Paris.... But it does have a great pool area and lots of restaurants! This is a good pool area to party. The lazy river is more for drunk 20-40 year olds and not really for kids. Unless they want to get splashed and cornered by party goers and like loud party music. If you want a good pool for the kids, go to the Mandalay Bay (thats the best). Also, be aware that the windows are GREEN! The light from the green lights were shinning in our room all the time. They do have a blackout screen, but your room just becomes dark, like there wasn't a window in the first place."

"The staff was very nice.Our room was clean & nice but we went in the first week of March when it's not nice enough to enjoy the emenities like the pool.But yet you still are charged for them.Also 20$ a day to use the little refrigerator in the room.I don't think so!! I knew when I booked it the hotel had resort fees didn't know about the 12 percent tax that goes on top of the fee(each day).We went through a lot of hotels & just because some are cheaper doesn't always mean that they will not be nice places to stay.I would not stay there again just because of their extra charges,but if you like the big fancy hotels it's fine but you will pay for that."

"Nice hotel, did a lot of walking. Didnt like the smoke in the casino and the overwhelming smell of perfume to mask the smell of the smoke. Also we were supposed to be in a room with a kin g size bed but it was not available even after they said it would be ready the next day.

"THe room was clean and nice, but when you are in Vegas, expect to walk A LOT!! Nothing is close! Especially the hallway to get to your room from the elevator hallway!! In addition, I had a $75 dining cr3esit to be used at MGM. It was only good at certain restaurants. Don't expect to get more than 2 dining experiences from it. The lunch we had was very overpriced, ($17 for a Turkey sandwich and $15 for a meatball sandwich??) seriously???? All in all, we did have a good time and the room was clean and the beds were nice to sleep in!"

"One of the best vacations we've ever had. The room Petite King room was great. (Perfect for two). Food was a bit pricey, but the 75.00 dining credit helped. Excellent choice as this was a last minute vacation. We want to go back. My only complaint is no coffee pot in the room. Starbucks was everywhere, but going down 13 floors upon first waking up is a bit much. I am glad some of the negative reviews didn't stop us from choosing MGM."

"A warning if you take medication and stay at the MGM Grand. Our room and housekeeping were great. However, the minibar was another thing. We checked in late Friday and my wife's medication needed to be refrigerated. We called front desk and they unlocked room refrigerator. Medication was put in. We were gone all day the following day and, when we got back to the room that night, the medication was in front of the tv along with a bill for $40. It took speaking to three different people to get the charge taken off. Our main concern was that am employee did not have any common sense in taking my wife's medication out of the refrigerator even though it was clearly marked with a prescription sticker. Hotel manager's response was that she was not familiar with the room hospitality department. The only one that knew what to do was the customer service person I spoke to the day after we checked out when I received my folio by email. I was on hold for 30 minutes waiting for someone to speak to me. However, she was very pleasant, apologetic, and removed the charge."

"Overall I enjoyed my stay. It seemed quite nicely appointed for the money, though the decor may have been a bit excessively feminine. A few things that I would note to people interested in staying here:
They were conducting maintenance during my stay and shut off the water for several hours in the middle of the day. That was by far the most frustrating thing to happen during my stay. It was 115 degrees out and they shut off the water! And of course bottled water was like $5. Pretty ridiculous.
The minifridge could not be used to store leftovers or keep drinks cool or anything besides storing those tiny little bottles of very expensive alcohol. There was a port to plug in ipods to play using their stereo but you had to pay like $30 for an adaptor to make it work. The tv didn't have any premium channels. Water pressure in the shower was pretty low.
Those are all my complaints. Other than that the room was great. We a fantastic view of the strip and the room was very attractive. The beds were comfortable and there were convenient little things like usb ports and automatic shades. Hotel is conveniently located on the monorail. The pool area was quite nice, though very crowded. For the money, a pretty good deal, though I'd rather be there when they weren't doing maintenance."

"Stayed the week of July 4th 2012.
Lots of construction going on at the MGM and the surrounding premesis. Parts of the sidewalk are blocked and so you have to take a detour. Stayed in the newer rooms, they were very nice..average in size. The staff was great.. some of the restaurants are pricy..try the food court for breakfast way cheaper than the buffet...or go out and go to Denny's next door. Pool was nice, but gets very crowded early.

"this was the worst trip I have ever taken, start to finish ! The hotel was worse than bad. Next the room I was given had to be part of the old Marina hotel the hallway carpet was frayed, there was tape holding on parts of the doors, the bed and pillows were awful. The service at the buffett was good 1 time and awful the next. The connecting flights were 44 gates apart one time and 2 terminals apart the next"

"Beautiful place to stay - facing the strip north part. Room is pretty and clean and newly renovated, bathroom always clean, no problem with water, west wing is quiet our room was close to the elevator. love the smell even if it is smoking floor. House keeping did a good job keeping the room clean. Safe in room is good for keeping valuables, just enter your own pin number. If you need ref, just ask for it, they will put one in the room - we needed it for insulin. Room temperature - excellent you can adjust it to your preferred temp. no porblem.
Bell Desk was slow on some days especially when it gets close to check in time - 3pm because of so many guests.
They took out the lion (in January) at the rainforest cafe. All you see is a big aquarium.
they only cater to the rich and not the not rich. there are expensive places to eat ($25 - $40 per person) inside the hotel, but there is also a foodcourt in the hotel that has a McDonald (always crowded because it's cheap), there's a Nathan's and a New York Pizza and a starbucks and a Haagen Daz.
Swimming pool - very beautiful with 4 big pools a lazy river and a water fall, they call it the Wet Republic - there was a big party at the pool on July 4th - all guests were invited that night.
Tabu - is where you can dance the night away, famous among celebrities. Yes it's inside.
The place is close to many reasonable restaurants and souvenir shops along the strip like Denny's, Wendy's, Sbarro, Panda Express, Fat Burger, Outback STeakHouse, Hard Rock Cafe ...etc. There is a Wallgreen on the hotel side and a CVS across the street on the strip. Easy to walk from here to other casinos on the strip. Pedestrian bridges are everywhere to cross to the other side of strip. Pedestrain bridges are also wheelchair friendly - they have elevators. One can rent a scooter for 5 days (less than $100 - its a power wheelchair for seniors). For first timers, do get the city tours - an evening tour (recommended) or a daytime tour to see the most of the strip and freemont.

"We had a bad experience. Our bathroom drain was clogged so everyday the shower would overflow. The maid came in twice without knocking. There was added fee's we didnt expect for resort fee's. You had to play mimimum bets of $1 at the video games in the bars to get free drinks. The pool is very far from the rooms so if you are older its along walk everyday. I would stay at different hotel next time. Hotel didnt seem to care that you had a bad experience"

"Lots of problems with this trip. Room was supposed to be the grand king suite but it was only the grand king. Gave up arguing with the front desk. Hotel did not know it was our 29th anniversary even though it was specified on my confirmation sheet. Water shut off to room for 5 hours on 6/20/2012. Double booked our seats for the complimentary show. Had to stand with attendant and wait for a new seat. Flight home we had to sit apart from eachother. Airline screwed up seating. Not much of an anniversary trip."

"The stay itself was fine. However, the initial check in was a complete disaster. Our room wasn't ready at the guaranteed 3pm time. So, I waited in line at 4pm for an hour and when I finally got to the front of the line, the service representative told me that our room was not available anymore. I had initially booked a two queen bedroom suite, but instead got a one king bed one pull out couch suite. Me and my friend who alternated sleeping on the pull out couch were incredibly uncomfortable. Everything else in the hotel was fine, but the room situation was terribly unsatisfactory."

"The MGM Grand Hotel is beautiful, although there was construction going on! My daughter and I took my Mom for her birthday out to Las Vegas for the very first time! It was nice, but very surprised that the hotel didn't have coffee makers in the rooms, I thought every hotel in the 21st century had coffee pots in the rooms for their guests.... but I guess not since they had several Starbucks scattered throughout the hotel!
Also, I agree with others that the restaurants were not the greatest and were very expensive, which I had know about the restaurants at NewYork New York before we were ready to leave, as they had more reasonable and less crowded restaurants to choose from.
I would recommend this hotel, but would definitely search for eating elsewhere."

"I was very unhappy with the situation at MGM Grand Las Vegas, their systems had been down for days and when we were finally assigned to a room we were given keys to an occupied room and we walked into people in the room..we went back down stairs to get a new room and then someone walked into us...we also had to get a new set of keys each time we left the room because the ones we were given wouldn't work the next time...it should have been a fun easy going weekend and it only resulted in frustration."

"The MGM Grand is a beautiful hotel with many amenities, large rooms, beautiful pools, excellent restaurants and nice gaming floor. (Forgot smoking was not outlawed, like it is in PA in certain places, but it wasn't overbearing.) We booked an Executive King Suite, and the room was very spacious and clean. I wish our view was a little better. (In my opinion, a King suite like that really shouldn't be on the 5th floor) Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. The Monorail was helpful to get back and forth from the Venetian and MGM. Thank you for a wonderful experience."

"When we checked in the girl at the front desk tried to sell us an upgrade of 60 dollars a night room. I asked what was wrong with our room and she said it is small. She wasn't kidding it was like a cruise ship room grey and very depressing. The pool area is all concrete, not a flower around and loud hip hop music blaring with swear words in the songs. The second day they closed two pools for private parties even though they didn't start setting up untill 5 o'clock so everyone was crowded around the one pool. Oh did I mention not an umbrella to be found by the pool. The day we checked out we had a resort fee of 75 dollars. I said are you kidding we didn't check in until six on Sunday and we are checking out at noon on Wednesday that's only two full days. I said what do you get for this resort fee of 25 dollars a day and she said wifi and a free newspaper. I replied I don't have acomputer with me and I've been paying for the usa today every morning and she said on you are supposed to get it free at the gift shop. I also remarked how can you charge for one day of that when only one pool was open yesterday. Avoid this hotel if you can."

"We haves stayed at the MGM before but for this trip we decided to pay to upgrade to a beautiful suite . My wife was very excited only to be crushed when we got there and found out they had sold our suite to someone who either paid more money for it , or a big spender that forgot to book a room for UFC fight weekend . Either way I think that if u book something 2 mths before u go , pay the extra u should get what u paid for.. Not a substitution .. Not very impressed that a free stay was never offered or even a responsible apology from the MGM . Just because we r not rich does not mean we do not count ...not impressed ...."

"Beautiful hotel and not nearly as smokey as some of the other ones that we went into. Excellent service and nice rooms. LOVE the pool areas! This was actually why we picked this hotel and we were not disappointed! Favorite spot was the river pool! The only thing we didn't like about it was the amount that is charged for drinks at the pool. It was $19 for a drink. But you are allowed to take your own in as long as they're in plastic cups! Also, it was a really long walk from our room to the pools, but I guess that's what happens when you're in a city where bigger isn't just better, it's mandatory!"

"Hotel was great. Very clean. Would definitely stay there again. Very family friendly. Our kids loved the swimming pool. Hotel has a McDonalds, Nathans, Starbucks and other shops inside. There is also a food court right next door to the hotel and a great mexican restaurant. M&M store is just a block away so is Dennys. My only issue is that they dont have coffee makers in the room, otherwise will definitely stay there again."

"I've never stayed here before, but I'd been to Vegas a few times prior. I knew we weren't getting that great of a room, but when we finally arrived it didn't even seem worth it. The walk to the room is like some sort of surreal fun house walk. The hallways are so long, dark, and gray that you feel you're entering a morgue. Once inside the room it was furnished nicely... but it was incredibly small. No tub... I didn't see anywhere that there was only a shower. Not a big deal but something I look forward to on a vacation. There were lots of small issues with the room that you could tell the hotel is just not caring to fix."

"The first room we were placed in was awful. The lock on the door didnt work tiles were falling off the wall. We told them and were given another room but had to fight with the receptionist who was incredibly rude to us. It wasn't until the manager showed up that people changed their tone with us. THE SAFE KEPT MESSING UP, TWICE IN ONE DAY. THE FIRST TIME WE WAITED A LONG PERIOD OF TIME SO WE COULD LOCK UP ARE VALUABLES AND LEAVE FOR THE DAY ON AN OUTING. THE SECOND TIME THE SAME DAY ARE EAGLES TICKETS WERE IN THE SAFE. SECURITY TOOK FOREVER TO COME AND LET US INTO THE SAFE. WE WERE LATE AND MISSED THE BEGINNING OF THE CONCERT. WE ASKED CUSTOMER SERVICE TO RUSH SECURITY TO OPEN THE SAFE, BUT AGAIN THEY TOOK THEIR SWEET TIME."

"We PLANNED this trip ahead of schedule about two months prior to arriving in Vegas. It was one of the couples first times and it was for her 40th Bday. When we checked in at 3:30pm when check-in was, they were very busy cause the Eagles were playing their that night 4-21-12. Front desk checked us in gave us our room keys, went to the room and NOT AT ALL what we planned and PAYED FOR. We got a basic room and we PAYED for a Tour Spa Suite. So we called to front desk and they said they didnt have any of those rooms available. They confirmed order on March 20, 2012, one full month prior to our arrival date. the hotel then at that point said we can give you a $150.00 food voucher for there own location.BIG DEAL! So we payed over $550.00 for 2 basic rooms cause they sold our rooms to someone else that walked in for that day. How do you explain such a tacky business & schedule of rooms for the clients when they PRE PAID for something. My husband and I go to Vegas 2-3 times a year AND THIS WAS THE WORST STAY BY FAR AT THE MAIN HOTELS ON THE STRIP AND I DONT RECOMMEND YOU TO STAY THERE AT ALL OR FOR SURE DONT BOOK A TRIP THERE IF THERE ARE ANY CONCERTS CAUSE YOU BECOME A PEON(THIRD CLASS CITIZEN) I would like to know what business would have you pay for a service upfront and then when you get there its not at all what they sold/told you. False advertising all the way. I feel sense we didnt get what we paid for."

"Was downgraded because we smoke, reserved the West Wing Deluxe King, but was not told till check-in that the West Wing is non-smoking. No Compts were offered. We were moved 3 times during stay. We were even asked by desk clerk if we really needed to sleep together. We ended up with a lovely view of the parking garage. No sound proofing between rooms or from hallway, we were woken up every few hours by very loud guest. Love the pool, but music to loud and not open late enough. Concerige very helpful and polite. Beds were comfortable, room was clean. I think i should have received what I paid for."

"The hotel staff was extremely friendly and efficient. The room was smaller than I expected. There was no counter space to lay out toiletries and personal items. There was no coffee maker or refrigerator, which are things I expect to find in any room. It is such a huge place. The pools were overcrowded, and the music was too loud. It was too loud to carry on a conversation with the person sitting next to me. The pools also close way too early (5:00 and 6:00 pm) for Spring."

"The room was very nicely accommodated, the pool area is large and spacious, but a bit of a hike from the rooms. The staff were very nice. My only complaint were the 'resort' fees (and associated taxes). I may get stuck paying for this out of pocket (I was there for a convention) Annoying too, is that one of the things this resort fee is supposed to cover is the free wifi which wasn't very good if you are trying to do any business. Also, note that the business center nickel and dimes you for any business activity ( email, printing, PC access) Clearly, they want you gambling and not working, unfortunately conventioneers need to at least be able to do the latter."

"For starters my trip came with free tickets to one of seven shows but we went on a 'blackout' week so we werent able to get the tickets. When we got there I noticed the blackout was ending a day before we were scheduled to come home and the staff got us last minute tickets to a show even though we were supposed to have booked them weeks earlier. They were quick to get me a special pillow for my neck also . The newly remodeled room was large and classy. Easy to use monorail. That being said... there could have been a coffeepot in the room so you wouldnt be forced to overpay for coffee at the lobby shop everymorning if you wanted a cup...the fridge in the room was only for the items they filled it with on the pressure sensors so you could not purchase anything and put it in the fridge...you had to pay their rates for beverages which were about double. There was $140 fee on top of the room rate but at least I had been warned about that in advance. The machines in the casino were pretty tight. They charged $16 each for the tubes to float the river pool. We even had a photo taken before the show I mentioned and they wanted $40 for that...bottom line...they seemed to overcharge for everything!"

"To begin with, checking in was a complete disaster and hassle, it took 3.5 hrs!!!! Is that the normal routine for a guest to have to wait in another room for that period of time while the front desk figures their stuff out?!?!?!?! The view from my room was very dissatisfying. Then the fridge in the room, well where do I start.... I noticed a fridge in the room, so I assumed being that I had paid for the room....that also meant that I had full access to putting what I wanted into the fridge. I simply removed what they had in the fridge and put it ALL on the floor underneath the fridge. I then put some water and beer in it. Room service came into our room numerous times without us being in there and removed our beer and water and then left. Instead of leaving some kind of note letting us know we were not to remove anything from the fridge....NOTHING was left letting us know!!!! So again I removed their stuff and put our stuff back in the fridge. I left the room for 5 mins maybe 10 total....ran to a friends room down the hall on the same floor, and they had come back into our room and put their stuff back in the fridge and put ours in the box. I returned to the room and was curious if they had been there and THEY WERE!! And this time, our fridge was locked!!! A call came in telling me that they were charging me $300 because of the stuff I had taken out of there fridge. WHAT?!?! If they are there to take inventory, how are they not intelligent enough to see that EVERYTHING that was taken out of the fridge was left right there on the floor. After all of this nonsense, they finally brought in a seperate fridge. I didnt realize that the fridge in ther room was specifically for their stuff as there was NOTHING there telling me this!!!! There should be a large sign on the front door of the fridge saying - don't remove anything from fridge or you will be charged. They had sensors on the firdge and could see if something was removed. Basically nothing short of a camera in the room basically...kind of feel violated with someone being in and out of our room without our knowledge and having some kind of sensor. This information should be posted somewhere so that your guests are fully aware of this!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Check in experience was terrible. Arrived at 8:00pm to only be told our two rooms were not available. Hotel could not accomodate us and offerred a dinner voucher and told us to come back around 11:00pm. Our rooms were not ready until 1:00a.m. and then when we got there one set of keys did not work so it was another 30 minutes before we had access to one of the rooms. Night Manager was very unhelpful and didnt really care that we were inconvenienced. Hotel did give us a food and beverage credit for our inconvenience however by that time all we wanted was our rooms. This was the first time satying here, overall the rooms and services were good but having stayed at many other Vegas resort hotels I would stay somewhere else the next time."

"The room was small, the setup was inconviienent. The door to the shower and the commode were glass so if anyone knocked at the door when you were on thr pot you had to stop or yell out for them to wait. Not good, not exhaust in the bathroom, not good.... The bed was top notch, very comfortable. The tv was ok, but no coffee in the room and it was 14 floors and approx. 3 city blocks away from the place to buy coffee. The people were vry nice but nice does not help with age, bad knees, bad backs and hip issues. We had no clue the hotel was this size or the distance to the restaurants were that far away.. Would I go back, only if I could get a room closer to the elevators!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The lady who checked us in was awesome, she did everything she could for us, went out of her way , but she had no contrl over the geography of our rooms...."

"My stay was great! I recommend staying there! However, on our last night we heard something going on in the room next to us. We called security, they came but then left after they were told that 'nothing was going on.' It became worse immediately after security came. We had to wait all night to give our statements to police and listened to the out of control man in the room next to us yell and argue with security for hours. By the time this was all done we were a bit traumatized and not in very good moods. What did hotel management do for us? Gave the 4 of us a $50 room service credit... the $50 was not even enough to get 2 of us meals. Plus we had already been out to dinner and were leaving the next morning. Big disappointment on how this was handled. The man should have been removed so that we didn't have to listen to his yelling for hours. This was super disappointing because it ruined our saturday night and our last night in Vegas. Felt we were treated unprofessionally by the management who thought we would just brush it off and want to go out clubbing by the time we were done dealing with all everything at about 12:30 at night. Unpleasant end to our trip!!!"

"This was my first time in Las Vegas and was sooo excited to be going, im 23 so I figured what better place than vegas! When i arrived the concierge was nice very pleasant had no issues other than if you do plan on staying here they will charge you an extra $25 a day which i definitely wasn't pleased with.. once we got to our room it was disgusting.. its like they never even cleaned it, towels on the bathroom floor, left over mens shampoo, water and gatorade bottles all over the room. I called downstairs to let them know what happend.. they said they would send someone right up to give us a new room, nope. We ended up waiting in the room for 35 minutes for someone to come up, so i finally called back downstairs and someone told me to come get the keys after they said someone was coming right up.. once we got into our new room everything was fine.. BUT let me tell you there pictures of their new 'Grand King' is nothing like in the pictures its like they instagramed the picture to make it look better than the room actually is! Also for there mistake on giving us a messy room all they would give us is 2 buffet tickets... but don't even get me started on the buffet.. you have to wait 45 minutes to even get a table you wait in line to get a table which isn't even very efficient.. once I got my food i noticed a button in my chicken! A button!! As you can see this is all in the first day, i would never recommend this hotel to anyone, they obviously need to have more meetings with housekeeping and with there dining staff. Hopefully if I ever change my mind about this hotel they will have better staff."

"We checked in early Friday morning, and our room wasnt ready, so we were given a room on the West wing. The walk to the room was the longest I've ever had to walk, and the elevators were in a very inconvenient area. The room we were given temporarily was very small. We were told to call back between 10-11am for our upgraded room and we were given a $30 drinking credit. We call promptly at 10 am that morning and was told our room wasnt ready and that our upgrade would expire at 4pm that day, and to check back in later. Then 230pm rolls around and I wait at the front desk (which was total chaos- there is not a first come first serve policy and people could be waiting 20 minutes and someone else could walk up and get serviced quicker because of luck). I was told that the room wasnt ready again and to check back by 330pm. Because of this and the offer expiring at 4pm we had no choice but to wait at the hotel. I check back at 330pm and our room is STILL not ready. By this point- I am becoming very frustrated with the whole situation. The staff member was kind enough to give us a whole different room altogether and stated that our old room key cards would shut off in 30 minutes allowing us enough time to get our bags. Sure enough- we get to the room and our keys dont work. We then call Security to open our doors and it takes then 45 minutes to respond!!!! Instead of walking around and enjoying our Vegas getaway- were investing more time in waiting on MGMs mistakes and mishaps. Only then does the Security come and open our door so we can grab our things. Thank God our new room was clean (the view was undesirable). And the rest of the trip was uneventful. Because of this, I wouldnt stay here again."

"I believe that the hotel is a nice hotel location for Vegas, however I believe my particular stay could have been better. Get to the check in counter and was advised that we needed to pay a 'resort' fee. I was not given the option to choose a resort over a hotel and preferred to stay on the hotel side. Also, the room itself was nice. We had issues with the plumbing as the shower and sink would overflow when running less than 5 mins. So we had to take very quick showers to prevent any leaks. In my opinion this was not acceptable. I also had issues with availability of show times and had to settle for a show that I wasn't really interested in. Outside of those few issues the hotel was nice and the staff was very friendly. I would stay there again, but after all the fees and bad show tickets I would probably book outside of bookit.com again and still make out with a great deal."

"I'm a bit dissapointed with my stay...First,the wait to check in was just too much and the staff at the desk was not the friendliest. I had reserved a suite for 4 nights but this room was not available when we got there. They put us on a standard room the first night they moved us to the suite on the second night. They gave us a $75 food credit but was not worth the trouble, then the suite was not what I expected, this suites need to be remodeled. "The main areas were very nice --- Hotel Lobby, etc. However, the checkin folks are tooo much in a hurry to explain everything --- also player's club so you don't quite grasp everything ... they were friendly enough though. Our rooms were in the West Wing... you leave from this fabulous lobby ... walk into this dark gray (carpets filthy) ... dark grey dungeon looking atmosphere. You get into your room with the same horrible dark grey. Room small but clean. Buffet was horrible ... Rain Forest Food Horrible ... Service from the cocktail waitresses slow ... I just returned from Biloxi so I had that to compare it with. The highlight was I won quite a bit on the slot machines ... but you know what ... it doesn't make up for horrible room and filthy carpets ... Maids did there job and were excellent ... they can't paint and scrub carpets ... I realize this ..."

"This was the worst hotel/resort stay ever. I stayed a total of 6 days and was not impressed and will never be a guest at this hotel. This experience put a stain on my whole wedding weekend.We ended up in three different rooms. The first mistake was our first room, which was the size of a shoe box and was filthy. The carpet in the first room was so nasty that I would not walk on it with my sox. The shower in the first room was dirty, there was soap scum all on the glass shower doors; which made my stomach sick. The sink had stains that looked like someone brused their teeth and left the dryed toothpaste. After crying I called guest services only to get representatives with additudes, who really did want to help me or my husband. After getting nowhere on the phone in the room we went down to front desk. We met the only pleasant person that worked for this hotel. She saw the frustration in our faces and knew there were some issues. After speaking with her manger she was able to get us into a different room, and even sent us a bottle of champagne. I thought this was the end of our troubles until we got to the room and it smelled HORRIBLE. Not only was the smell a problem but the television was as old as my and I'm almost thirty. At this point my husband was so upset that he had to leave the hotel because he was sick of everything and was tired from lugging 200pounds of luggage that the bellman never came and got from the first room. Soon after I got call from the girl from front desk asking how everything was, I told her the issues in room 2 and she was even upset. I went down to front desk, received another room and this time a bellman was assigned to come with me the room instead of meeting us at the room. As I got in the new room I noticed it was chilled, I turned the heat up and left the room. When me and my husband got back the room was stll only 72degrees. We wanted to shower in warm room so we turned the het up as high as it would go, nothing changed. For the rest of our vacation or room would not get warm, we had a cold room for 6 days. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone not even an enemy. Went to the buffet inside the MGM Gand hotel and it took the server exactly 25mins. To get our drinks and did not get them correct. During check out I expressed how unhappy I was with everything, I was given a hotel letter head envelope and paper! This was such an horrible experience, I will make sure others hear my story......."

"This was our 1st excursion to Las Vegas and we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Though our room was a modest West Wing deluxe king, it was sufficient for the limited time we spent in it, and allowed more money for the phenomenal shows available. Cirque du Soleil KA is a must see. The hotel is right on the monorail line, allowing easy access to the entire city. And, though we explored several other hotels and dining venues, our favorite restaurant, Fiama's. Would definitely consider staying there again."

"Did not have any problems with the e ticket but, once I arrived at the MGM Grand I was not impressed with the room accommodations (room was in The West Wing) and by far one of the worse rooms I've ever stayed in. I found the room to be small and dark, had problems with the shower and the sink. I complained to the front desk and had maintenance respond promptly but, there was no followup from the staff to inquire if the problem was taken care of. Was looking forward to my first time in Las Vegas, I doubt I will ever return again."

"This is the first time we have stayed at MGM, we would definitly go back!! We have stayed at many hotels in Vegas over the past 20 years , but, truly loved this one!! Our rooms were on the 23rd floor, West Wing and we had a beautiful view of the strip. The rooms were all refurbished, new, clean and very nice!
The only thing we disliked were the flights to and from!! They were awful!! We had long layovers and we are use to nonstop flights! Other than that, our online travel agent has some very good deals!! But beware...they could change your flight!! We were suppose to leave at 2PM and ended up leaving at 7:30am!!

"Great hotel and we loved it!!! Rooms were modern, beds were comfortable and soft.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Kids loved the pool. Ample choices to eat from in the foodcourt and Starbucks was great...all inside the hotel.
Use the shop just outside the hotel on the west end for nibbles and alcohol/soft drinks or Walgreens on the strip for even cheaper food shopping.
Despite the renovations we had a great stay and will stay again if we visited in the future!!
Vegas had a great buzz about it and walking the strip at night is highly recommended.
Viva Las Vegas!! Hope to be back soon...."

"I booked this trip for our anniversary about a month in advance. I was delighted that upon our 11 a.m. arrival our room was ready. We were immediately disappointed when we discovered that our room was not what we had expected. The room was smaller than a studio and when we called to check on another room, we were put on hold for over 15 minutes! I also tried to reserve a cabana online and when I tried to check on it, they transferred me to four different attendants, and I had to explain my situation, each time. We were really disappointed, our first stay with MGM was fantastic, this time, a nightmare! I would reccomend either the Monte Carlo or Bellagio. Don't even try the slots here, you will die of thirst waiting for a cocktail waitress to come around. The two casinos I just mentioned had fantastic, attentive waitresses! I believe the MGM isn't so GRAND, anymore!!!

"Stayed here 4 nights and loved it. Room was plenty big, very clean and bed was comfortable. Only negative was the glow of the green lights. "They charged me with $200 in the mini bar for simply moving some items out so I could store my medicine in the fridge. Now I'm having to fight tooth and nail to get the money back for items which I did not even consume! Also they were suppose to give me $75 in food credit which the lady at reception looked at me like I was crazy when I mentioned it as apparently they would never do such a nice thing for guests. Overall I would not recommend this hotel because of their bad customer service."

(including the $25 resort fee) I won two tickets to see Lenny Kravitz in concert, which was AMAZING as well. Saw celebrities who came out. This was the best Vegas trip I have ever taken. "MGM is a very nice hotel. When we checked in there were no rooms with a queen bed only two double beds. This was frustrating that they could not help us at first. The next day they moved us to a room with a queen bed. The food and entertainment was great. I would recommed KA Cirque du Soleil show. It was AMAZING! Staff was very friendly. A slot machine in the casino malfunctioned on us and they comped us with 40 dollars and free breakfast. The hotel was very clean and rooms were nice."

"I Just got back from my first trip to Las Vegas and I am very disappointed to say that i was not pleased with my stay at the MGM at all. I am very well aware I booked it through a third party online but I requested a non smoking room with a rollaway bed and the hotel put me in a SMOKING FLOOR and to get to our room to find a BROKEN FIRE ALARM and they didnt even offer WIFI SERVICE which by this point should be a given! It was my first trip to vegas and had high expectations on the MGM and I spoke to the receptionist about it and told me she couldn't do anything about since i booked it through a third party and it was new years horrible customer service had no other suggestions and told me to go on my way. THEN the bell boy ended up losing our luggage and we killed time trying to find it and ended up being late to reservations. By far the worst experience ever had at a hotel I had a better guest service at the Hampton Inn than at this hotel. I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED WITH MGM."

"I don't normally write reviews but I need to let people know the low quality of service by MGM staff. My wife and I arrived at MGM and went to the room we were supposed to go to. It was not cleaned at all and there was one helful staff of MGM (the room service staff were incredible) who said to call Concierge. We called and they moved us to another room. The person on the phone said she will send up a security person to open the room for us. We waited outside the room for 30 min with no-one opening the room for us. We went downstairs to the Conceirge desk. After waiting for a over 15 minutes we finally got to speak to someone. I spoke to her nicely and told her that our room was a mess and we were moved, and she grabed the room keys off me and walked away, and she returned and just said 'there you go.' There was no apology at all. That was the final line, and so my wife and I complained to the manager about the situation. The manager was really good. She did apologise and offered to waive the fees and gave us $44 credit on our hotel account.
If you want a nice accomodation, but really bad service MGM Grand is for you. The managers & supervisors and the room service staff are professional, but the staff you most likely will have to deal are quite poor with their communication and efficiency."

"Went to Las Vegas over the thanksgiving weekend. This hotel was one of the nicer and by far the more clean of the hotel of them all. Hotel clerks were extremely nice. Bell boys on the other hand were rude if they did not receive tips. Rooms did not have fridge, hair drier or coffee maker but were really nice and exactly what was described. If I was to go back, this hotel would definitely be reconsidered."

-bad front desk receptionist - my hotel booking comes with the $75 promo coupon and the front desk didn't even bother to give me that if i didn't ask about it.
- room has no frudge and coffee maker. totally unacceptable
- make us paid for that resort fee, even when we don't use their wifi and they didn't bother to open their pool.
- bad bell boys - when i didn't give tips to the bellboy because i told him i lost all my money in blackjack tables, the bellboy just toss my bags/ luggage aside.
overall - I won't ever go back to this hotel again.

"This was a fantastic hotel to stay in, however I will rate the value very low because we had no hot water in our room the second day of our stay. The lady at the front desk smiled and apologized for the issue, but nothing was ever done to fix it. I assure you all that the nice old lady I sat next to on the plane was not impressed with the apology from the front dest clerk either. I am not a dirty person by any means, but after being outside in the 70 degree weather all day on saturday and in the smoky casino most of the night I was not the 1st person you would want to sit next to for 2 hours without an open window. Hopefully you can get the 12th floor your billion $ casino up and running soon!"

"When we got to our motel we did not get our prefered room that we booked and when we ask it was like it didn't matter to them, we was told to come back before 11;00AM when we returned the next day they told us to come back after 2:00pm and when we went back then they told us that they gave the room to another customer, it was only when I finaly got upset we was given our prefured room."

"We were upgraded to a marque suite for 150 more a night. It was well worth it. The suite was fabulous. It had two bedrooms, two full baths, large living room, and wet bar. We felt like queens staying in this 1550 sq. Ft. Suite. Housekeeping kept it spotless. We loved it and hope to stay there again. We went to KA Cirque de Soleli. The show was excellent. The slot machines were tight, but we still had fun. It was a great trip."

"Just stayed there for a long weekend. The rooms were clean and housekeeping kept up with the rooms very quickly and nicely. No coffee maker, which bummed us out. It was older decor(the original, I am sure) and in need of updates - badly. The bathrooms were big but not impressive. The bed was very comfortable. Tube T.V. still - kind of funny but we have one still too(in storage) so didn't bother us any.
I stayed at 'The Hotel' at Mandalay Bay and by far that was superior to this but I also stayed in a room at the Luxor and MGM was better than that - there is some comparison to go by.
MGM itself had a great atmosphere, lots of places to eat, great vibe, outstanding pool - Wet Republic!! Make sure you know that when you stay at MGM and pay for the $20 a day for the resort fee that it also gets you access to about 5 of the other hotel's pools/amenities on the strip - ask them about this! We had no clue until the last day when a drink waitress at the pool told us. Get a room NOT in the west wing. We did and had a great view of the strip, better rooms/bathrooms and super quiet. Had no issues at any time of day with people being loud. It was a surprise.
Be sure to see KA at MGM... this is a side note but that is an outstanding show!
The buffet there was not impressive compared to some of the other Hotels - very comparable to buffets we see in Kansas City. Nothing fancy. Go somewhere else.
Another good thing is a Walgreens is right around the corner - we had to take a few trips there so that was nice to have so close!! The little things when you travel make the difference.

"Largest hotel on the strip. A great stay. Room in West Wing was like in a boutique section of hotel. Room and service was great. New flat screen in room didn't work. Maintenance came immediately and repaired.T.V. Also embedded in bathroom mirror (Jetsons). Hotel charges a $22 daily resort fee. Book-it says it includes use of fitness center; it does not . You get to use small Cardio room. Fitness center is in spa and near pools for another $25 per day pp fee. Everything is ala carte, nothing is free. No coffee in room. You have to go down to food outlet and pay starbucks prices for coffee.Very smokey in casino which takes up large portion of Hotel 1st floor. Emeril's was great. Grand arena had Jimmy Buffet w/ Coral Reefers. Great show.. That still rocks. Will do it again. Fins Up!"

"The room was OK, very clean and the bed and pillows were outstanding. We found it was a bit smokey but most of the other hotels were as well. Could have used a coffee machine in the room and the extra resort fee was expensive if you didn't use the services. My room (non-smoking) was clean and towels were fine. My only issue was that I asked for an IPOD dock and was told my conceirge that it would be $100 but they are renovating and rooms will have that next year ;) LOL
Other than that - room was clean as well as the casino area - KA was awesome!

"Such a beautiful lobby to welcome us to Vegas! The front desk and concierge were very knowledgeable and courteous. Our room was on the 16th floor facing the Strip. Great view and very quiet.

"The entire staff was friendly and pleasant. The room was clean and big enough so as not to feel cramped during the course of our time there. We were able to upgrade our room from a Deluxe King to a Spa Suite for a nominal fee which made the experience even better. The monorail stops right outside the hotel which made going to other casinos and attractions very convenient. There are many restaurants, shops, and attractions inside the hotel other than the casino so you really never have to leave the hotel for anything if you choose not to. Overall, a great experience!"

"Had trouble getting a room upgrade because of a third party booking but finally was able to at check in but wouldn't allow us to over the phone for some reason. We upgraded to the celebrity spa suite which was ok but not what we expected. The room was clean, but definately needs a remake as far as furniture and wall paint goes. The TV was outdated as well older tube one. I guess after seeing the beautiful lobby and casino areas I was expecting the room to match - not the case. We ordered room service which came faster than expected and wonderful! All the staff really went out of their way to accomidate and were all very friendly. Don't expect to get a complimentary drink at the casino though anytime soon - very understaffed and had to buy the $7 beer at the bar! The waitresses only came around about every 45-1 hour in most cases if at all! Also you can't use the elevators at the end of the hallways and it's a walk to the main ones so that was inconvenient as well as our room was almost at the very end of the hall. I probably won't stay at this hotel again."

"The MGM Grand is a HUGE hotel. You would never even have to leave if you didn't want to as everything is right there. The room was large and comfortable, and I was surprised that it was very quiet at night. The pool area was fantastic, especially the lazy river. You really have to get down there early to secure a lounge chair though. My only complaint is when we requested a min fridge for our room (and I do mean 'mini'), we were told it was a flat rate of $32 for the entire stay, and then tried to charge us $25/day on our final bill. After speaking to the manager though, the charge was removed. Overall, the hotel is very nice and well located on the strip; also close to the airport."

"Rooms were good enough. Nothing too exciting but who care you don't spend much time in the room anyway. Shower head was annoying too low and I'm not a tall guy. "The Mgm grand was above and beyond my expectations. The room was the right size, the furniture and atmosphere was contemporary and it was perfect! Room service was great, they took care of room every time we left. When we requested anything they were there promptly. Also, the hotel itself was amazing! There is a lion den with two lions! The pool section was huge. Three pools , a lazy river and access to the exclusive wet republic pool! There are michelin star restaurants downstairs, including famous restaurants like Emerils and wolf gang pucks. All i can say FIVE STARS!"

"Myself and a friend stayed for a week and enjoyed our accomodations! We had a blast and the MGM Grand offered everything we needed right there. We didn't have to leave the resort if we didn't want to. We are currently planning another trip back to the MGM Grand."
