"Mandalay Bay was a pretty decent hotel.
The only downside is that it's located at the end of the strip.
Our trip was from april 28 to May 2. the temperature was on average 30 degree C. We tried walking on the first day but it was just too hot.
there are bus stops right outside the hotel. you could buy a 3 day pass for $20. It'll take you approx 40mins to an hour to go from mandalay bay (most south) to the premium outlet (most north)
Everything is the hotel costs money...
The mini bar and fridge are computerized so they have sensors built in them. When you take something out for more than a few seconds, they would charge it to your credit card.
There are no kettles in the room so you can't make coffee and hot water (drinking water) costs $5 plus tax.
Overall this is a fancy hotel.
Big bathroom.
We booked this hotel for the pool. It was pretty relaxing though we only went for one day.
I would try out other hotels next time.

"Overall the resort was fantastic but the room was not our idea of a deluxe room. The carpet had a large wet area on it and the bathtub had a definite ring around it, fortunately we prefer showers. The maintenace department responded very quickley when we discovered our room door wasn't locking after we had been out for about 3 hrs. The sandy beach with the surf waves was excellent. Would have prefered a personal check out rather than just depositing our info in a box by the elevator as would like to know what the resort fees, plus any extras fees are. Thank you."

"I haven't stayed at Mandalay Bay for years and this time we were just passing through. When we arrived around 9:00pm, the line to check in was about 30 min long. So we decided to leave our bags at the bell desk and have dinner first. It was around 11:30pm when we got back from dinner and the line was even longer. It was really inconvenience for us. We only had 1 night there and was leaving early the next morning. We didn't want to have to waste time checking in. Only half of the check-in counters were open. With the overflow of people that was trying to check in at the same time, I would of thought that the hotel would staff better. By the time we got our room keys, it took us 35min. We then decided to get our bags at the bell desk. There was 1 person ahead of us and said that someone was getting his luggage. There was another guest that came up to ask to if we've been helped. He said that he tried calling from his room for his bags and had to wait over 20min to get a response. Since we were tired and it was getting late, we decided to wait for someone. 10 min went by and no one showed up. We ended up calling for it from our hotel room. The room was nice and clean. The downfall was, there was no robes. When our bags finally came, we had to re-dress since the robe wasn't available. This trip was quick for us and we didn't want to have to deal with little inconveniences like this. I told my fiance' that we probably would not stay here again."

"Mandalay Bay is a very large resort with a lot of options for shopping and eats. All restaurants on property are pricey! I highly recommend House of Blues for food and entertainment! We walked across the street to liquor store for our own personal mini bar in room. There is a Subway across the street as well. All the staff was very helpful and friendly! The only complaint I have is housekeeping never cleaned our room or emptied trash. We stayed three nights. We had to call for towels. I usually bring my own hair shampoo and conditioner, but didn't this time so I had to use the ones provided in room and they were awful so bring your own! Also bring your own soap to shower with. Their hand soap smells terrible and body bar has pieces of almond or something rough in it. Low quality toiletries do not match Mandalay Bays high end image. This was our second stay at Mandalay Bay and it won't be our last!"

"My wife and I were looking forward to taking advantage of Mandalay Bays famous Beach area only to find out after we arrived that the entire facility was closed! This was one of the top reasons for our selection of Mandalay Bay over other facilities and was a major disappointment! I spent considerable time on the Mandalay Bay web site prior to the trip and never found anything that indicated that the Beach area would not be available. Other than that, the trip went pretty much as planned."

"I will never stay at another MGM Resort property. Basically, the resort charges a customer for everything. They don't even put a coffee maker in the room so you have to buy coffee in the am. Food was expensive for the quality. The room was ok but again for the price you can stay in much nicer hotels. Even the soaps, shampoo's, etc. were cheap. The towels were like sand paper. Every aspect was cheap.
The Palazzo for example knows how to treat a customer and in every aspect provides a much better value and good time.
The MGM resorts are like McDonalds heart. The casinos may look different and nice but they have the same corporate penny pinching agenda.

"The Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino overall was a beautiful hotel. The only complaint is that my husband and I got bitten by bed bugs. I have never had such an experience before and wondered why I had bite marks behind my knee area. When I got home and googled it, found out that this is the classic area for the bed bugs to have their meals. So, if it were not for the darn pesty critters, I would have given higher ratings. I would recommend this hotel, but I would also warn my friends to BEWARE!"

"Loved the place! Clean, nice, comfortable beds, great pool area. When someone was smoking on our floor the front desk was very helpful in moving us to another room! My only complaint is that my sister and I both got a chair massage by the pool at the same time. She was charged 45.00 and I was charged 60.00. For the same amount of time! Not sure what that was all about and I forgot to mention it when I checked out."

"Everything was absolutely super. Several family members were there and we heard so many positive comments.
We had an excellent room -- view of the swimming area.
Several of the eating places were excellent.
The staff at the hotel were very efficient and kind and thoughtful. The room was very clean and the cleaning staff seemed to be very helpful too.

" I will say that Mandalay Bay was the best part of our stay. For our Sunday - Wednesday visit, we placed on the 60th floor of THEHotel at Mandalay Bay with an incredible view of the Strip. Wonderful room, very nice staff, we look forward to staying there again. The free tickets for Ka were ready as promised and the show was fabulous. We love the MGM Resorts!
our package included ground transportation to and from the airport to the hotel. The voucher was not sent in the packet, on the day of our travel, we arrived at the Airport on Sunday, 2 hours before departure, only to find that our flight was cancelled and there were no other flights available as they were full. The only option was a refund of the cost for the flight.. We ended up booking our own flight while at the airport and had to pay TWICE the original amount (Sorry, MGM, you lost out on $400 worth of casino money thanks to this).

"We stayed at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and had a seperate reservation though Mandalay Hotel and got a message to upgrade to a suite at TheHotel, Part of the Mandalay Hotel. For $25 a night, so I showed the Check in agent my memo on my phone and he granted the upgrade for all three nights at $25 plus tax and waived the $28 per night resort fees, Yes! I told him we would be spending alot of time and $$ at their Hotel, so I guess this worked. We were given a suite room in Thehotel, and was next to the ice maker and thought it would be noisy but it wasn't. Beautiful Big Suite with seperate Sleeping and Living room and Hugh bathroom. The only thing to complain about was the flat screen tv in the living room had a speaker blown out so hard to watch some channels. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again!"

"This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had while booking a trip to anywhere... We paid for everything upfront. However, upon arriving to Mandalay Bay/Vegas, we were first told we were staying for a total of 3 nights. This was incorrect. We had paid for a total of six nights. Then the check-in lady told us that we were staying in a 'spa room' (when we had booked a Deluxe)...she later told us there was a 'glitch in the system.' (That should have been our first clue that something was terribly wrong.) After she 'fixed' the situation, we were asked if we'd like to put a $300 hold on our checking account so that we could order room service/things to our room? We agreed to the $300 hold. However, the next morning, I looked at my checking account and saw that there was an additional $401.69 charge for Mandalay Bay. (So now, I was out $701.69 in my checking account.) I went to the check-in services and asked to speak to a manager. A manager refused to speak to me, telling me that 'Mandalay Bay like to keep things at the lowest level possible.' The lady who was to help me did not have a clue what I was talking about. She first told me that the $401.69 charge was due to the fact that we had only paid for three nights through our travel agency (that was incorrect--as I showed her my paperwork that I had printed out). She then changed her story, saying that the $401.69 was because we were staying three additional nights and the $300 hold we'd put on our room would only cover three nights. (Um, are you kidding me? With all the resort fees, that only added up to $168.) I told that that was also incorrect because if that were the case, the total should just have been an additional $300. Finally, a manager came over to speak to me and told me that she would sent a note to my bank telling them to release the funds ($401.69). However, since it was Friday evening and my bank was on the East Coast, it was closed for the evening and by Saturday morning, my account still showed that I was in the hole for $701.69 ($300 $401.69). By Monday COB, my account looked like it was back to normal (thank goodness). However, upon checking out on Tuesday (Aug. 14) my account was debited the following charges to Mandalay Bay: $100, $100, $100, $50 and $25. I was not given a reason as to what these charges were, just that my account was now at a -$43 balance with the previous pending charges. I called Mandalay Bay today and was again informed that the charges were 'room charges' because I had not paid for six full nights. I told the lady that that was ridiculous because I had indeed paid in full! She said she would look into it and call me back. She called back two hours later and told me that there had been another glitch in the system and that it was 'totally Mandalay Bay's fault....but that it would be until late next week before the charges drop from my account.' I told her that this was, again, ridiculous, and that I needed the money back into my account now, that I did not care how much it cost Mandalay Bay to put the money back into my account because it was MY money and that I DID NOT authorize Mandalay Bay to debit my account for $375. I was told their office was closing and to call back tomorrow and also to call my bank and tell them what is going on so that hopefully I will not be charged any overdraft fees. I am so upset at all of the MGM/Mandalay Bay hotels right now. It was an awful experience and since I have no money in my account at the moment, I do not have the ability to buy food for the rest of the month. I budgeted correctly, Mandalay Bay somehow managed to 'glitch' the system so that i am out of a lot of money. I am very disgusted with the whole situation and plan on contacting the BBB tomorrow. I used to work in banking and KNOW that there are ways to get the customer's money back to them right away, not 5-8 business days. I am disgusted with the whole process and will probably never stay at Mandalay Bay or any of the MGM resorts ever again."

"This hotel is awesome. They are not joking with their 'Resortist' advertising. We did not have to leave the hotel grounds the first two nights for anything. We got a 25% discount off the Beatles Love show just for staying at the hotel.The wave pool and lazy river are great, but their was tons of children (summer). Not really a big deal for us but their was way too much rough housing at the lazy river for it to be considered relaxing. Food and drinks are very expensive at the pool area. We ate at RM seafood, highly recommend eating downstairs and trying the Ringo roll and the key lime pie for dessert. Went to Mix one night, its a roof top club/ bar at the top of Mandalay Bay THE Hotel. They have an open balcony that you can see all the way down the Strip. Its worth going for the view alone. The Irish bar had great live music and it wasnt so loud that we couldnt have conversation. Overall, I would stay here again but it is very expensive."

"When we arrived the concierge was rude and snooty. When I finally did get to the front of the line to be checked in the lady walked off, so I approached the counter and she said someone else would be with me shortly. The gentlemen that did help me was very nice and helpful (might I add the only nice person we encountered). We got to the room and lowered the air conditioner to 60 as it was a sweltering 105 degrees outside and the room was exceptionally hot. Side note, the room never did cool down (rm 41333) the air conditioner was on a side wall pointing at the window not the room. The bathroom tub had some type of grease resin in it that would not come off; the toilet closet was so permeating with urine it was overwhelming, the floors were dirty the carpet sticky. The view was great the hotel and pools were beautiful. But I have stayed at Best Westerns that were nicer and cleaner. We paid over 300 a night plus 28.00 resort fees for the room and planned on staying for 2 nights we ended up leaving after the first night and forfeiting the money we already paid for the second night stay as it was too late to cancel."

"Mandalay bay hotel in my opinion not worth staying at ...... If you are going to stay here make sure you dont stay in the rooms 17-32 floors... The line to get in the elevators are ridiculous... During the weekend expect to wait at least 15 mintue just to get on the elevator.... And not to mention that the elevator is going stop on almost every floor on the way up.... The deluxe room was just ok... The carpet was stained... The tub lining was yellow and one of the sinks was clogged... The walls are super thin you hear everything through the walls... The one thing this hotel has going for it is the beach and the pools...
The location of this hotel is at the south end of the strip its just too far from all the action.. I have stayed at NY NY, Harrahs, and the Venetian .... And this trip at the Mandalay Bay was the worse..."

"Although, Mandalay Bay is voted for having one of the top pools, its swarming with children. The rooms are nice and so it the staff, but a lot of restaurants close early. When we went to the food court to have a less expensive lunch at the hotel, only one of the food spots were open! The club/ lounge at the top of Mandalay called the foundation room has a great view of the strip, and decor. But!! It's totally empty except when the pub crawlers pass through. The aquarium advertised is $18.00 for adults and no discounts is offered to guests of the hotel. Over all, its a nice hotel and resort but I would not choose to stay there again as an adult experience. Too many kids and not enough places open at night."

"Our stay began with the nicest front desk lady checking us in and doing her absolute best to get all three of our rooms together.
When we got off onto the 17th floor where our rooms were, it smelled like death. That is the only way I can describe the odor. It was so terrible that everyone was leaving and even the employees were gagging and holding rags to their faces.
We phoned down to have our rooms changed, and were greeted by the most unfriendly person. She made us feel like we were asking too much to be moved to a floor that did not smell like rot. She had no idea what was going on-which I find hard to believe considering we were swarmed at the elevators with people trying to get off of the floor because it was so unbearable.
We finally decided to keep our rooms because they couldn't get us anywhere near eachother on any other floor and just left for a few hours while it was dealt with.
That being said, the rest of our stay was fantastic! The hotel staff-other than the concierge desk-was amazing! Friendly, knowledgable and great to deal with. The pool was beautiful, clean and had the perfect amount of sun and shade during the day. The waiter/waitresses at the pool were quick and consistent with the food and drink orders. All in all, a great stay.
But you may want to speak to the concierge desk staff and educate them on proper customer service. It counts for a lot and could deter people from wanting to come back.

"The stay was OK, but nothing spectacular. The Mandalay Bay boasts having the largest pool and beach area in Vegas; however, they don't have enough of the free beach chairs to serve their guests. At around 10:30am I went down to the wave pool to get a chair and there were none left and the beach was very crowded. The only chairs left were the 'reserved' chairs, which were ONLY $100 per chair!!!! Wow, with a daily resort fee to pay you would think there would be enough seating for all. Those who want to purchase a chair should book at a more prestigious hotel so as to not take seating space away from the general population. The rooms were clean but could be bigger. Other than that, hotel was nice."

"My daughter, her three-year-old son and I stayed three nights, and loved it! Everyone was kind and helpful. We visited the the shark exhabit, and swam in their exquisite pools. "i had booked this hotel because they were rated to have the best pools and i wanted to relax by the pool. The pools were so crowed that there was absolutely no place to sit or stand. this was on a Monday, not a holiday. I think they need to have a few pools where adults can sit and relax. The Moorea Club charges to get in and not everyone likes to sit and look at topless women all day. The cardio room was packed as well, not one machine available. I paid a resort fee but couldn't use the amenities. The bathroom drains made noise all night long; like they were clogged, and the noise kept us up at night. Good thing i checked with the front desk before i left because they showed us consuming drinks from the mini bar. i did knock a few over but i put them right back within seconds. They took them off our bill."

"We had requested adjoining rooms with our reserv. we made months ahead a time, and when we got there, the rooms we got were 3 floors apart for the first night. We did get rooms two rooms apart the next day, only after entering one that wasnt very clean, so we requested a cleaner room which was our 3rd. move which takes time, and no one wants to spend their time in Vegas changing rooms!! We then still did not get the housekeeping that was needed! One room went with the bathroom towels piled up and the bathroom uncleaned, even after the maids had been in and left drinks and cream cheese pkg. on the counter? Maybe they just used it for their lunch break?? Other than that, the hotel staff was very helpful and friendly!"

"This was my second visit to Vegas and my first to Mandalay Bay. The room that we stayed in was wonderful and the service was excellent. This resort has a great pool too! The weather was beautiful in late March and sure took the edge off of the long winter we have been having in Canada. I enjoyed the fact that this hotel is at the very end of the strip and there weren't as many tourists congesting the halls and restaurants."

"Our first night was terrible. We entered our room late Sunday night. The room was not cleaned but the bed was made. not changed , just made. We did not realize this until the morning and called house keeping. I asked to speak with the Hotel manager but she was busy and would call me back. 2 hours went by and I called again. The manager then talked with me and I told her that we had just slept in someone elses bed and how dirty the room was. She had offer to change the room and I said the room had been cleaned { it was 6:00 pm} but we were not pleased with what had happened. She was not very sympathetic about the situation. And there was a lot of dead air on the phone. { She would stop talking and say nothing}. She offered us a $100.00 food voucher and left it at that. On Tuesday the plumbing started to make noise and continued the rest of the week. when I called, I had the person at the front desk listen to the noise as I held the phone close to the bathroom. He was going to send someone to our room but the noise stopped. Someone did come but we were not there and just left a card. Thursday and Friday, there was little to no hot water to take a shower and when we called again, they just said it was a busy hotel... Also house keeping did not leave faceclothes or toiletries through out the week we stayed there. When checking out I explaied to the Mgr. at the time the terrible stay and asked for compensation. She said I would get two nights stay on my next visit and would send this to me by email. Nothing has been sent... I can't beleive we are the only ones who have had such a terrible expierence at this hotel.. Reading your reviews, one would think this is one fantastic Resort. The staff at the check out desk, mainly the Mgr. was rude, condescending and arrogant but with a smile. Was this a case of everything going wrong at the same time? If so, there is no excuse for the way we were treated by the hotel staff. "

"My companion and I were disappointed that there was no airport shuttle, no inroom coffee and the prices for all food and beverage was extremely high. I've been going to LV for about 50 years and I don't care for the changes. If you stay off the strip you'll pay much less for everything. I'm not sure I ever want to return.
We went to LV to see The Lion King and that was fabulous."

THE GOOD OLE BOYS OF THE BAD OLE DAYS RODEO DO NOT. I FOUND IT DISREPECTFUL TO MICHAEL'S LEGACY. 'NUFF SAID!
LOVE THE HOTEL AND ATMOSPHERE. I WILL RETURN LATER THIS WEEK TO CATCH ONE OF THE FINAL SHOWS FOR MICHAEL ON CHRISTMAS EVE. I PLAN TO STAY AT MANDALAY BAY EVERY TIME I RETURN TO VEGAS IN THE YEARS TO COME. LOVE THE HOTEL.
STAYED ON THE 13TH FLOOR: (CLEAN THOSE TOP PILLOWS AND WIPE OFF THE FURNITURE WITH REAL CLEANSER----WATERMARKS/STAINS FROM PREVIOUS GUESTS WERE VISIBLE ON THE NIGHTSTAND----TWO DINGY-TELEPHONES FROM THE LATE 80S????ONE DID NOT WORK). THE CARPET WAS NOT FILTHY BUT IT COULD USE A SHAMPOO. THE BEDS WERE GREAT.
BAYSIDE BUFFET TASTY TASTY. HOUSE OF BLUES----GREAT!! (JUMBO SHRIMP! YUMMY). RAFFLES CAFE-----NICE.....CANNOT SAY THE SAME ABOUT THE FOOD-YUCK!

"The resort was lovely, and the rooms big and clean, beds very comfortable. Best pools I have been to on the strip.
Restaurants closed a little too early for Vegas, 10:30pm, however there are 2 open after that, red white and blue and raffles cafe, and both have pretty bad food. The Buffet was great, hit that, but avoid the previous two. Aureole and strip steak were great!
I'd stay there again, but I now know what to avoid.

"We stayed in a deluxe room with a king bed. The bed was very comfortable, the room was big and was very nice. There was a big soaking bath tub separate from a shower, which was very nice for taking a nice relaxing bath. There were 2 sinks in the bathroom so both hubby and wife could get ready at same time. There was a TV in the bathroom so you could watch it while taking a bath. This is the nicest room we have stayed in in Vegas thus far.
Don't plan on using their refrigerator for personal use because they weigh the contents and will charge you if it changes."

"It was fantastic in the Spring so we decided to go again in the Fall. The Mandalay Bay is the BEST! We've been going occasionally to Las Vegas through the years, but since we have gone and stayed at the Mandalay Bay, we have decided to go every 6 months. Great food! great room!, great gambling, and great entertainment. It was too cool for the pools, but it didn't ruin our trip. There is so much more to do. The service is absolutely fantastic!"

"The beds are super comfy, the rooms are clean, and the staff is extremely friendly. You get what you pay for, so just keep that in mind when you decide where to book. I've stayed at a few other places on the strip that offer 'deals' that are NOT deals because the rooms are gross and the staff is not friendly."

"From the flights, the limo service, and the stay, the trip was great. No hassles or snags. Everything went off without a problem. Mandalay Bay was comfortable and clean. I cannot say enough about their service and accomodations. Great experience all the way around."

"My wife and I have been to Vegas many times always stayed at the Mirage, we decided this year we will try mandalay bay, The best decision we made, the room was incredible, the staff could not of been any friendlier, the pool is what we loved, and it is so easy to get to other good hotels."

"The resort was beautiful but the suite not as nice as I expected the lighting is poor and with no windows or door to open the room was always stuffy and the room had a dead air smell.The staff was attentive and the pools and beach area was great.The experience was outstanding."
