Stayed here for 4 nights during the last week of April. Had a junior suite on the 5th floor. The Cabana suite building is the block behind the El Cortez - there is a pedestrian crossing to the building which has a permanent security guard and someone on the front desk. We checked in at the El Cortez reception desk. Used valet parking which was quick and efficient as was the check-in (we arrived about 6pm on a Thursday evening). The main reception area of the Cabana building is quite quir... Read more

The room are nicely size, it kinda reminded me of SLS's hotel in Las Vegas. The color was not one of my favorite with the black and white/ Lime green. Trying to get adjust to using the faucet and shower was challenging. Other than that is was okay.

I grew up in Las Vegas, stayed here for the first time while returning to visit family in the area. My mom retired from the El Cortez years ago, so I've been to that casino several times over the years. We'd normally stay at the Orleans in another part of town, but had to travel all over the valley on this trip - and wanted a central location this time. I was very impressed, we had one of the junior suites for five nights. Price was more than reasonable. Room was small for a "suite", but we ... Read more

I had originally booked the cabana super suite for two nights in May on a Wednesday and Thursday but after constantly looking at pictures and really thinking about it I decided to get Friday night as well. I called El Cortez and the woman that answered was very friendly and helped me add the night for a very reasonable price for a Friday. We checked in very easily in the main building and were directed across the street to the suites which, as previous reviews state, has twenty-four hour securit... Read more

Beautiful room. I had a super suite, It had a King size bed, as well as a living area in the room. There was a safe in the closet. Huge walk in shower in the bathroom. Very quiet. There were plantation shutters on the windows, which made the room very dark. I would stay there again.

Before booking, I checked out photos online & really liked the style of the room. The price was great too. We had a super suite with a queen bed, sitting area, large bathroom. The size of the room was very good, lots of space. The couch & bed were comfy too. The bathroom was big & the shower was huge which I liked. There was also a lot of counter space. Also had no trouble with getting lots of hot water. However there were a few small things that added up that I don't think I would stay ... Read more

We had an OK stay and the price was right but it would have been a deal breaker if we had known that the windows let in so much light. They had nice plantation shutters but nothing additional so there was way to much light to be able to sleep during the day so you can do what you do in a place like Vegas.

We love El Cortez. We can gamble for less and have more fun. We stayed in the Cabana suites, this is our second time. Their remodel is so great. Any hotel looking to do a retro remodel should check this place out. When we went the first time there were no coffee makers in the room or fridges. This time there were. However they fail in a few areas. $21 for really bad 1980s adult movies (yes I check out all areas of the hotel-lol) Charging for the coffee they put in your room! Yes $5 to open ... Read more

Very short walk from the Fremont Street Experience. Budget friendly, on site security. This hotel had little extras- only $8.95 Resort fee, two bottles of water placed in your room daily, refrigerator, fresh fruit every morning in the lobby as well as little snacks like M&M's, Starburst, Red Hots. Receptionist is at the desk 24 hours a day and will print your boarding pass for you. El Cortez is it older hotel, the Cabana Suites are decorated very modern. We enjoyed a meal at Siegel 41 which is i... Read more

We were upgraded to the El Cortez Cabana Suites. First time staying in their Cabana suites. Short walk across the street.First impression was wow what a funky colored room (lime green) and a little small. Most important it was very clean. The staff and security were all friendly.

Decided to book a relatively last minute trip to Vegas. Got a decent rate at the El Cortez Cabana Suites. Everywhere else was crazy expensive. I've wandered through the casino on several occasions and thought it to be a little dingy. However, being in the beggars can't be choosers category, I thought I'd give it a go. I love downtown and have stayed at all of the other major properties. I'd put these rooms on-par with several mid-level strip properties. Check in (at the main reservation de... Read more

The REST of the El Cortez was built in 1941 and 1980. This building opened as a separate hotel in 2008, and was later taken over by the El Cortez. The 63 Cabana Suites (they're actually 400 or 200 sq. ft. rooms) absolutely sparkle! Just look at the pictures, and that's what you'll get. Rooms also have fridges (rare for Las Vegas), and the air conditioning (even in 108 degree heat) is SUPERB. No bathtubs, but the showers are huge if you like to share ; ) My Expedia rate was $35 per night (... Read more
