This is a nice hotel. I don't gamble so I can't tell you about any gaming however the rooms in this hotel are just as nice as any if not nicer than hotels on the strip. Checking in I thought was going to be a long time because there was a line , however it mover very quickly. The customer service was 100% perfection. The staff was nice and professional and my room was very very clean. The lobby was clean and the elevator was clean and didn't smell. I love the pool area. There was enough seating ... Read more

When I heard about this hotel opening up a while time back, I was really excited at the promises of it. Placed in the heart of Downtown, so far this hotel has delivered on my expectations. I live in Las Vegas and have stayed there several times since its inauguration. The rooms are clean and brought up to date. The restaurant downstairs offers a good variety of delicious food along with a full bar. The staff has always been friendly and professional. Recently I stayed there for a few days and en... Stayed here as a couple for 5 days at the end of May. but along with a larger group of people who all decided to go to Vegas at the same time. We stayed in the larger building past the crosswalk, on the 22nd floor. Check-in was really fast, but then we arrived around 10PM, not exactly a peak period. Our room looked modern and clean, as expected for a newly refurbished property. Elevators were sometimes a little on the slow side but bearable. Pillows were kind of hard to us, but the sheets wer... When we decided to come to Las Vegas, one of the hardest decisions was deciding where to stay. After several reviews, I decided to try the Downtown Grand. After all it had received high ratings and the price was great. Checking was a little cumbersome, but I made it to the front desk. We found the room to large and spacious. Actually, for once, the photos on the website were actually truthful. We were both delighted. Right down the street is the Fremont area which is very exciting. If you want a... Read more

We enjoyed our stay here very much. Check in was easy and fast as well as access to our room on the 15th floor. Parking is free across the street when you have them stamp your parking ticket at the hotel desk. The room was spotless and lovely. The only drawbacks were the low water pressure in the shower, the pillows are hard and the satellite connection for the TV did not work. We had to call for someone to come up and fix that. It took about 15-20 minutes for him to get there. He was very nice ... Read more

Stayed here for 4 nights to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. the hotel staff were really good, provided free champagne which was a nice touch. we had the grand suite on the 26th floor which I would highly recommend. some of the guests on the lower floors complain about the street noise (bars & restaurants open until 2am) but we never heard anything. pool is ok, not the biggest but suitable for a quick cool down. tip- stay on the highest floor possible.

Friendly, efficient check-in and check-out. Valet parking much easier than self park and free if you spend some money at the hotel. Nice, clean rooms. Upper stories have great views. Short walk to the Freemont Street Experience. Overall a great location that is easy to get to and leave. Less hectic than the giant strip hotels.

The stay was pretty cheap, but if u want the strip, this is way too far away. Their fitness center is just 4 running machines Their pool is only 300sqft and is only 4ft tall Their casino is ok, but there is no action at all, not that many customers to make it attractive. The people at the desk is not really friendly, it's like they don't really care about you. The restaurant though is the only plus. About a block from the Freemont experience, far enough to not hear the noise at night, but close enough to walk to safely. A couple of bars on the street by the hotel, and a Mob Museum next door. Room was clean and comfortable. Would stay again. Pool area had enough places to find a secluded chair and shade on a hot June day.

This was my first time staying in a hotel off the strip. It was a very enjoyable experience! Check in was fast and seamless. The hotel property was very clean. The rooms are nicely appointed and comfortable. Our teens loved the newly updated pool area and it was small enough we were comfortable allowing them to be down there without us. The casino area is smaller, but we aren't big gamblers anyway. Just a block from Fremont street. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

This was our first stay at the Downtown Grand and did not know what to expect. We selected the one night stay June 12th due to it is a part of the Choice Hotels group, the hotel chain we frequent on trips to other cities. The rate per night was very affordable, but there is a resort fee of $22.34 per night, so I was extremely disappointed when the valet advised that there is a $7 valet fee for hotel guests, but if we get our ticket validated the fee will be waived. Kudos to the Downtown Grand's marketing team for a strong effort in helping make it a destination to consider. Easy check in and check out. Friendly staff and a great room. Earplugs on the nightstand gave us a clue. It was noisy. The entertainment on the lovely rooftop pool area was very loud and went on until very late/early depending on how you look at it. But hey this is Vegas. As a Brit we are used to having tea and coffee making in the room. It's a bind having to get dressed to go to the commissary for it. So how about it Downtown Grand? We stayed in this hotel when we married 23 years ago. Nothing is the same...and that's a GOOD thing. The pool area was gorgeous! Only complaint is the weird half wall in the shower/tub. Our room had a tub so it was difficult for me to step Tub could use hand rails. My daughter's room had only a shower and it looked easier to use. The service was great and food at the bar and restaurant was good. Even the gambling was decent. one block from bus stop and Fremont Street Experience. I had no issu... Read more

We stayed 3 nights at the Downtown Grand Hotel. The room was spacious. Bathroom spacious and the AC was cold. The room was a bit noisy (you could hear Fremont Street until the wee hours of the morning!) They provide ear plugs for light sleepers. That did not bug me as much as the walk from the room to the Casino. The reason we stay downtown is to have a closer walk - but still had to walk up an escalator, across the bridge to get to the Grand Tower. Pool hours are crappy - but that is typi... Read more

ROOMS - the place opened in 2013 and the rooms still look brand new. VERY CLEAN - not only do the rooms (and bathrooms) sparkle, but the common areas are also spotless. RATES - My rate (from the Downtown Grand website) was $54 per night (which INCLUDED the $20 per night Resort Fee) from Sunday through Thursday. You can also book through the Choice Hotels website. Also, they DON'T charge more for two beds in the room. The Golden Nugget sneakily implemented that policy in 2015. POOL, OH THE ... Read more

This was my first time staying off the strip and it was great. Stayed in the Grand Tower and was not bothered by any noise. Freemont St is an easy walk and the pool was grown and sexy. Wish there was a 24 hour cafe or a buffet on the premises. But room service has enough of a selection so you will not starve or go broke. I do miss the free valet Vegas and the no resort fee or deposit required but it is what it is

Really liked the setup at the Downtown Grand. Quick check in, quality rooms and it's a real bonus having the pool, a rarity among downtown Las Vegas hotels. The location is close to Fremont Street as well as the higher quality bars and restaurants outside Fremont. Another nice plus is the small market / bar / lounge on the lower level of the tower building, in case you don't feel like dealing with the craziness of Fremont. I liked that this property is one of the newer hotels downtown. I have stayed there several times when the rates were great and no resort fee applicable. Unfortunately there is nothing of additional value added to justify tacking on a ridiculous resort fee of $21 per night.

This property is two blocks off Fremont St., and that is a plus in my book.... less noisy and less of a zoo of humanity. Well suited for family or business, this hotel has generally some of the best prices in Vegas. Definitely a good value proposition, note resort fee applies. Hotels relatively new, just a couple of years old, and rooms are clean, bright, and spacious. Food on site is good, pool is a plus. Limited casino with few patrons currently.

This last year was the second time I have stayed at this hotel. The hotel is located within walking distance from Fremont street. This hotel is clean and newly renovated. It offers free coffee in the morning and the front desk staff is friendly and efficient. The guests range from young hipsters to forty something like myself and you won't hear rowdy partiers running up and down the halls like other hotels. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in a nice hotel in the... Read more

Spent 4 nights there at the end of October, first 3 were only slightly noisy (Fremont Street), Friday you could feel the vibration of the music. They do leave earplugs in the room, which I did use. I did request a room away from the music, and it was still very noisy. Casino is small, but the dealers are great. Food was good, comps are fair. Not sure if I would go back, and if I did I certainly would not be staying there on a Friday night. Hotel could use coffee makers in the rooms and a sho... Read more

We travelled up to Las Vegas from Los Angeles and were delighted to find that we were staying in the proper, original Las Vegas. Downtown Vegas is the real deal and everything the other side of the Downtown Vegas sign is actually Paradise - so if you stay on the strip you aren't in Vegas. We were next to the Golden Nugget and the Mob Museum right by Freemont. It was a little noisy in the evening but it actually wasn't too much of a bother. Hotel had a pool but it wasn't very big - not much us... Read more

The best part of this property has to be the pool. The 2nd floor roof top pool on the main side of the property has a large lounge area and decent size pool area. The views are nice inside the area and outside. Lots of seating, misting devices and fans are plentiful. Bar and food available to purchase with servers. The room and casino of this hotel are average at best.

This was my first visit to Vegas and the hotel is nice with nearby parking. You will need a car or transportation to get to Bellagio etc but the location is amazing for Fremont street which you have to see. The casino is less intimidating than some of the big ones and the dealers are willing to help newbies. If your not an expert remember drinks are free if you are playing and give the waitress a small tip and they will keep the drinks coming!!! The gym is small if you like that type of thing... If you like to use the fitness facility in a hotel, you should give the Downtown Grand a miss. The so-called "fitness facility" is, in my opinion, is an apology for a fitness facility. When I discussed this with the management and requested a reduction in the "resort fee", they were totally unwilling to assist me with this. Very poor customer service.

We found our room to be clean and comfortable. Housekeeping does a good job of finding a time to clean when you are gone. Can be a bit noisy at night but most rooms in the downtown Fremont street area are. They took care of everything we asked for and the restaurant and bar are great. Terrific pool and staff was very friendly.

This is one of the nicer downtown Hotels, it is a block off of Fremont. The pool is very nice along with the casino. The casino is on the smaller side, but still had plenty of choices. The only drawback, which is the same at any of the downtown hotels, is the noise coming from Fremont St. The hotel even includes earplugs in your room each night.

My adult dtr and I spent 2 nights here at the start of our week long roadtrip to the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park then returned for a night before our flight home. We chose it primarily on affordability, having not visited Las Vegas before. We found this hotel to be clean and comfortable with adequate amenities, though no fridge in room. The $22+ per day 'resort fee' is expected in Vegas, but without need for parking seemed expensive for wifi and 2 bottled waters. The location was fine ... Read more

Loved everything about this hotel: service, rooms, location, price. Read the other reviews about noise, really, how bad could it be? We were on the 17th floor, facing away from Hogs & Heifers, toward the air conditioning units. I woke up in the middle of the night to the throb of music and he was sitting up. He told me sadly, he could not handle the loudness. When they provide two sets of ear plugs in the room, there is a reason. 4 stars for service 4 stars for location 4 stars for price 3 s... Read more

This is the 4th time I have stayed at The Grand. It is always a great experience. The pool was still open, despite being the end of October and the water was warm. They renovated their restaurant and changed the menu and it's a 1000% improvement! Live acoustic music (not super loud) every night. Great atmosphere. A couple days before Halloween, The Grand hosted a rooftop party and it was a blast! Im going back in January!

My husband and I stayed at the Downtown Grand and the rooms surprised us! The rooms were more classy than expected for only having a standard room. I would highly recommend staying at the Downtown Grand! They are only a block to the Fremont Street Experience. We were able to go dancing to the band that played on Fremont Street and then walked back to the Downtown Grand for a relaxing, comfortable nights sleep! We will be back again soon and I will recommend this hotel to my traveling clients!

We normally stay at The Golden Nugget but we got a great deal with Downtown Grand so decided to give it a try. Read the reviews about the loud music but brushed them aside because, after all, it's Vegas and we normally stay up late when we're there. Yes, the music is loud but it only was a bother the first night we were there as we went to bed earlier than usual. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and as pictured on their website. Would stay there again for th... Read more

We stayed here over Veteran's Day weekend and the marathon. We got a suite with a king size bed in a separate room from the living room. The living room had a big couch you could sleep on. We had two full bathrooms and two big screen TVs and a mini-refrigerator. I loved the red decor in the room. The bathrooms were spacious with lots of counter space. Plenty of room to spread out in the suite. Clean and comfortable. Bring a white noise machine or run white noise from your phone to sleep because ... Read more

The City Suite is a fabulous room. Extra large sitting area, separate toilet for guests, oversize bath tub. Fantastic view from the 26th floor. But the Premium room was nearly as nice though smaller. Lots of space, extremely comfortable. Staying downtown is always an adventure with Fremont Street providing a ton of entertainment. The casino had everything you want, and the restaurants adequate, with many available just a few steps away. The Downtown Grand is a hotel you can enjoy without ... Read more

This is a clean and modern hotel. Love that it doesn't have the cigarette smell that hangs in the air anywhere in the hotel and rooms. The rooms are spacious, clean and modern. There are no fridge, kettle nor coffee maker in the room. The only complaint we have is the noise level from the band every night. Very loud and makes it difficult to sleep. Hotel is in a good location. Room was great, beds were really comfortable. Fremont st just downstairs. Casino was good too. However, the staff were beyond worse. We had a reservation from booking, and long story short, they charged us three times for certain things, and when I actually added things up in front of the receptionist, she said, oh it's a bit tricky, I'm not sure how the charging works....Well if you don't know it, then don't do it. If you want a quiet, clean friendly place to stay while you experience the crazyness of Freemont Street...The Downtown Grand is the place to go. Just a block away from crazy town our room was quiet and clean. The casino is small and just right for a quiet hand of Blackjack. The breakfast was handy and included. My only concern was the pool hours 9-3...and a poorly equiped finess center...some cardio machines...no weights or machines for resistance training at all....

As a Choice Privileges member we decided to stay again to avoid the craziness of the strip. Little disappointed in this stay compared to our Feb 2015 stay. Carpets were very dirty and very stained. Looks like it had not been shampooed in years. Thumbs up to the maintenance man for coming to our room after a request for a light bulb in the bathroom and above the TV. Thank you for that. When I asked for a late checkout, the young lady at the front desk said no and was very rude about it. She told ... Read more

I booked this hotel last minute prior to a four-night stay in Vegas with my sister. Having stayed on the strip multiple times in the past, I opted for Downtown for a change of scenery. The hotel is newly renovated and lacks that cheesy "Old Vegas" vibe which I found refreshing. Upon entering, I was greeted with high ceilings, modern glass chandeliers, and no scent of cigarette smoke (yay!). After taking the escalator and glass bridge to my tower, I found the room to be immaculate and nicely ... Read more

Being Choice Privileges (hotel chain) members, we were looking for something clean with a comfortable bed for a one night stay as we drove from California to Utah. Searching their site, the Downtown Grand had what seemed to be a ridiculously low price, so low, I just had to investigate further. All of the reviews were above average overall with minor annoyances to a few of the prior guests. We stayed at the Downtown Grand in November, choosing the hotel for its location to the ice hockey rink (we were there for a tournament), and rooftop pool. I booked through a third party agency (and please go read my review on why to never book with Otel.com) and the room that was reserved for us had only 1 queen bed instead of two doubles (even though it said doubles on my receipt). They did not have a room with two beds when we arrived. Teenager slept poorly on the couch. Moved to another room with hair on the sink. Couple across the hall fought all night. Trucks slamming dumpsters and beeping while backing in for deliveries all night long. Only slept 3 hrs. for two nights. Moved to another hotel and still had to pay "resort fees". Will not book a hotel in downtown again.
