We stayed here on our way out to Breckenridge. It was fine; nothing fancy. Average rooms. Nicely priced. Nice complimentary breakfast which the kids enjoyed. Would stay here again when passing through town.

We travel a lot between Indiana and Montana. We can always count on Holiday Inn. This stay was no exception. Clean and quiet. A little higher priced than we like. The next night we stayed in another Express just like it for $30 less.

We travelled with pets and this hotel is a pet friendly one. The manager on duty that day was excellent. She was so friendly! Very nice for a small town hotel right off the highway. The breakfast in the morning was pretty standard for a Holiday Inn Express, however, what stood out was the lady that was managing the area. She was quick to fill trays/coffee when they were empty. Greeted everyone who walked into the breakfast area. Just a very good overall experience.

As a frequent traveler (on the road nearly 80,000 miles a year), I see the good, the bad, and the ugly when it comes to hotels. By and large, I have had good success with the Holiday Inn Express properties --- but the Ogallala Nebraska H.I. Express takes the cake. Nice clean property. Safe area. Excellent cable tv package. Easy parking. Restaurants near by. Good AM breakfast. But the people working are superior to most any other property I have ever frequented. The gal at the front d... Read more

They are trying to make this hotel a little different from the norm of new, industrial-built hotels by giving it a sort of log cabin theme with chunks of wood fixed to all sorts of places, both inside and out. Good try, it didn't really work. Reception and breakfast staff were friendly and helpful and the included breakfast was good. The room was comfortable and fairly well maintained. But, there were no power sockets where you could use them. The desk where I wanted to plug in my laptop etc ha... Read more

A one night stop while driving fron Denver to the east coast. We arrived late in the evening to friendly and welcoming front desk staff. We were traveling with a dog and they even took the time to greet the dog. Pet fee about $30. Room was modern and clean. Breakfast was included, the standard HIE fare but the two kitchen ladies made a big difference. They took the time to talk to the guests, explain upgrades that would be coming soon. Super friendly adding to a great overnighter. I would recomm... Read more

We stayed here for a night as part of a road trip across the US. We were exhausted after driving all day from Chicago, and this place was perfect, clean and friendly. All of the front desk staff and especially the breakfast attendant were lovely, the room was comfortable and the free breakfast was good. I would recommend this as a place to stay over

We had been on the road for 13hours. Just needed a room to sleep but got so much more. Staff was great. Beds and pillows the best and the breakfast in the morning was better then any I have had. Hats off to these people who work so hard to make it #1.

This was exactly what we needed to break up our drive from Chicago to Denver. This is right off the highway. If you are a light sleeper, make sure to reserve a room on the side of the hotel that does not face the highway. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly.

The room at H.I. Express was a nice and clean, but a little expensive. We were very comfortable and the location was easy to find off of the interstate. The breakfast was adequate, maybe on the side of small, and hot. There was a small pond on the back lot which made it nice to sit and relax after a long drive (15 hrs+). The staff was excellent which indicates good management. As for cleanliness, we found one small silverfish in the bathroom - which was not a problem. The bed was very comfo... Read more

We have stayed at this Holiday Inn Express several times when traveling to/from IL/CO. It is an easy days drive from IL. The property is clean, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the bed comfortable, the shower has good hot water, the breakfast bar is always well stocked. Right next door is Margaritas Mexican Restaurant, a great place to have dinner after a long day on the road.

We needed a place to stay overnight as we worked through some local stops on the Nebraska Passport program. We were greeted enthusiastically upon check-in and told that we had been upgraded to a room with a king bed and a balcony. When we got into the room we laughingly realized there was nowhere for our 6 year old to sleep, so we called the front desk; a roll-away bed was happily delivered to our room in less than ten minutes. There is a nice bench a little ways past the back of the hotel th... Read more

Arrived later in the evening to a nice inviting property, checking in was quick and easy by friendly and helpful staff. Our room was clean and inviting as well. Beds were comfortable, as I did sleep well and woke up refreshed! The breakfast bar was typical but very good. Check out was quick, I have nothing negative to say about our stay. I do have to say the lobby and the western design was very nice! I felt out "West!"

I found the room to be clean and comfortable. The staff was efficient and very polite. The only downside was that this is right off of Interstate 80. We were on the back side of the hotel, so it didn't bother us much. The rooms are modern, but the lobby and breakfast area are very, very Western themed. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Not the most up to date but has all the essentials; fridge, micro, and kuirig in every room. Rooms were clean and well appointed. First floor rooms on back of hotel had rear door access to every room with parking right outside door which was convenient. Front desk was friendly and gave tips on what was going on locally which was nice. Breakfast was above standard and included gluten free bagels which was a great treat especially if you have an allergy which my daughter and I do. Kudos to ... Read more

This hotel was clean everywhere. From the moment I walked in I felt clean, which is important in a hotel. No weird smells or mugginess! The rooms are very spacious and the decor is comfortable. The beds were soft but not too mushy. The bedding was fluffy and long enough! The continental breakfast had everything you'd want in a breakfast! Including warm cinnamon rolls and many selections of juice!! I would stay here anytime!

The hotel was an interesting Western decor and appears to be updated, clean overall... but a REALLY small eating area. Place was always packed in the mornings and mostly grabbed food and ate it in the rooms. Some of the rooms on the backside have both inside and exterior access to the room. The major drawback with the exterior access is that you hear...every...single...car...drive by. Turning on the AC unit helped (if you need the white noise). So I'd recommend a second floor room (in which I wo... Read more

Due to availability I spent two nights here and one at the Days Inn next door. Fancier (bigger rooms, better beds etc) than the Days inn next door but you pay for it. Nothing essential that the Days Inn doesn't have. Very nice holiday inn but a bit noisy at night and seems over-priced. Lots of breakfast options, friendly staff. Put your do not disturb sign on your door if you want to sleep in as house-keeping comes early.

This is probably the best hotel within several hundred miles in either direction on the I-80. Well worth the stop. Ample parking, even for big trucks and trailers. Pet friendly with some nice walking paths behind the hotel. The breakfast staff were super friendly and helpful. Everything was spick and span!

We've stayed here a couple of summers in a row for Lake Mac trips. Easy access to the lake, and coming back to a nice bed, a/c, showers and a decent breakfast won over camping so far. Maybe a camper next year :). I would request a room on the North side away from I80, otherwise you will need the a/c running to drown truck braking and highway noise on the freeway and off ramp for I80. Also highly recommend Open Range restaurant in Ogallala for excellent burgers and craft beer. 3 Margaritas next d... Read more

I take the same route several times per year so frequently end up in the same towns. I've reviewed this hotel in the past, and I had another good stay. At this point, instead of relying on memory, I take notes while I'm still at the hotel. And my notes say: clean, quiet, friendly, highway noise on the front side, lake on back side (this time I was given a noisy front room, the primary reason for four, instead of five stars), quiet refrigerator, the wall a/c unit was not too noisy, the room w... Nice hotel, typical Holiday Inn rooms and facilities - clean and updated. Staff was very friendly, breakfast was good. The one issue I had was parking. We arrived around 9pm and found the parking lot filled with pick-ups towing trailers each occupying 6-8 spots and blocking lanes. This meant several cars had to park far off in the sand/gravel parking. There is a sign that says 'no large vehicles' - wish there was a way for the hotel to enforce it.

This is an older Holiday Inn Express with a western motif (which was nice for a change). It has been refurbished and is in good shape. The room was pretty roomy and the bathroom was good. Breakfast was the standard Holiday Inn Express service. The employees were friendly and helpful. Our bed was a little soft in the middle but not too bad.

Stayed one night on the way to Colorado. The hotel is located right off Interstate 80 along a frontage road. The hotel itself is clean with plenty of parking in the back of the building. If you get a king room on the first floor you will also have a door to the parking lot behind the building. The amenities and free breakfast were typical of HI Express. In addition, there were several restaurants within easy walking distance. I would stay here again.

We chose this hotel as a place to overnight in Ogallala. It is right off of I80 at exit 126. We got a nice room, a king suite as an upgrade as part of our rewards program. Room had a separate living area with sofa bed, wet bar, fridge and microwave. Bedroom was separate with the bathroom in the middle. No door to close off the bedroom. It's not easy to find a great hotel in a small town, but the Holiday Inn Express isn't too bad. It was clean and comfortable, but a bit dated. It is right off of the interstate and so easy to find. I think they had "hunting cabins" for those who want to stay with their dogs.

There are only 2-3Star hotels in town but the other one is $50 less per night! The holiday Inn franchise is an unbelievably expensive place to stay at I've found. I hadn't stayed at one for years, but when a friend booked this one we checked in late and found it was $114 before taxes---and every city assumes that they can "tax the transits" and it won't affect the local voters... so you can always add another $10-$20 per room for those things. The room was nice, but not exceptional. The Kuri... Read more

There is plenty good to say about this hotel. Right off the highway (more on that in a second) and a great stop along LONG I-80 trips, and it's close enough to fast food and fuel options. But be sure to get a room facing the back! If your room faces the interstate, you will here the trucks using engine/Jake breaks almost constantly.
