First, I have to disclose that I am pretty picky with hotels. That being said, I was not amazingly enthusiastic about our 2 night stay. We drove up and initially landed in the east parking lot. We thought we were in the wrong place it pretty much looked like a run down college apartment complex. There was lots of misc items in the parking lot. We drove around to the main entrance for check in. We were greeted by a college aged gal that never maid eye contact with me. She did however give ... Read more

Decent hotel. Lobby, restaurant and location were great. Our room had paint peeling from the ceiling. When we took a shower, the water would change temperature drastically becoming very hot. It was very overpriced. we paid almost 400 for two nights. it was closer to a 60 a night room. disappointed.

We choose this hotel because of it's location on the Clark Fork River. We loved it because of the service. We had a room (202) with balcony and a view of the river. Slept with the door open to the sound of the river. Train passages are multiple and noisy. Big comfortable room. Clean. No breakfast included. Restaurant is pricy.

I was in town for a business meeting downtown and my local contact recommended the Doubletree. It's location is ideal as it just outside of the downtown property and right on the River. Their restaurant is a good option and offers a balcony overlooking to river. Good people watching in the sense that in the summer you can see kids jumping from the bridge nearby, people tubing by and fisherman fly fishing the river. While the restaurant was good the property itself is quite tired and could ... Read more

I am not sure you'll find a better hotel or a better value in the area. Our sliding door opened to the wonderful sound and views of the Clark Fork river. The staff is delightful. Surprisingly, Missoula has some wonderful restaurant options, yet we still ate in the hotel restaurant three times in four days. It's got great food options and the wait staff was very kind.

The Edgewater/Doubletree Inn by the Clark Fork River in Missoula continues to be the most fun hotel for several reasons: a terrific in-house restaurant, scenic river views, fishing and location - steps away from the University of Montana, downtown, shopping, farmers' markets, coffee shops, etched. And, guest rooms are nicely appointed and the outdoor swimming pool is open in summer.

It's Missoula, so there's nothing fancy. This is top of the line for the area. You can still hear the trains, but not too bad. Rooms are clean. Beds comfy. Pillows soft. Staff efficient. Sometimes you could watch fly fisherman and sometimes rafters or paddle boarders would float by. The bed was really comfortable and had a lot of pillows which I love. The pool was cold but very refreshing, and the spa felt therapeutic after a day of hiking out in the beautiful scenery. We ate at the restaurant once for din... Read more

Rivers Edge- the view of the river as advertised is only for the lucky few. The other half are going to get a small balcony and the view is a run down parking lot with the hotel staff taking one smoke break after another!!!! We checked out early.

Don't believe the pictures the hotel website show you. Dirty floor, dirty sofa, dirty tub, broken wall, broken shower tap, broken sink water tap... Name it. All old and dirty. I paid extra for a whirlpool room but totally a waste of money because the tub is so rusted and disgusting that no one would want to sit in. Save your money for somewhere else.

nice facility with competent staff and great location. Restaurant provides good food and service. We've visited each year for the Montana football season and never had any desire to stay elsewhere. The rooms, particularly riverside are restful and the sound of the Clarke Fork helps the relaxation process!

We chose the Doubletree for location and reasonable rates and it more than met both requirements. Right on the river, very close to a riverside walking/biking trail and lots of downtown restaurants, shops and bars. The front desk staff and cleaning crew were efficient and friendly. Our only disappointments were wifi (it's free but the signal did not extend to our room #167) and how thin the walls and floor/ceiling are. We heard every footstep and toilet flush. Not a problem except for the earl... Read more

Nice hotel especially if you can get a riverside room. Rooms are large and we'll maintained. Room is very clean and we especially like the bed covers are cleaned for every new customer. Close to some good places to eat.

My steak was cooked as I asked but was smothered in a blue cheese sauce and laid on top of overdone sprouts and underdone potatoes. The whole seemed to be swimming in grease. For the prices charged they really should be able to do better

I stay at this hotel because of the easy access to hiking trails and the views from the riverside rooms. The fitness facility is in decent shape as well. However, this hotel could use a major makeover with the d├ęcor, the rooms and bathrooms seem really old. The staff that I have encountered have always been professional, no complaints there. I would recommend that unless you are getting a free or deeply discounted breakfast, eat somewhere else. The food is not worth the money.

The physical condition is showing its age - needs a facelift. Rooms are spacious & the river view is great. Rooms lacking a luggage stands & refrigerators. In room clock is incorrect & unable to find a way to reset. Reception & bar staff were very friendly & accommodating.

My husband and I like this hotel because it is walkable to downtown, to the college campus (and the "M" hike) and a quick drive up Rattlesnake Canyon to many hiking trailheads. Our room was spacious and well maintained. Nothing fancy. But everything we needed (except for a magnifying mirror).

We were unable to camp because of poor weather but this great hotel provided the best of both worlds. Clark River runs beside hotel and River walk trail allows you to walk or bike along River. A great place for outdoor enthusiasts. Doesn't feel like you are in a city. Train whistle at night camouflaged by fan white noise easily and not an issue. Great restaurant/bar in hotel with views of river. Would definitely return.

You can't beat the proximity to the river, walking trails and downtown. The hotel lobby and restaurant are pretty and I enjoyed the retro style of the exterior. The rooms definitely need some upgrades but I really loved hearing the rushing water from our little balcony so I can forgive the drawbacks.

The location of the hotel is superb. Waking up with a view and sound of Clark Fork River is incredible. While the hotel and rooms are outdated, kind and attentive staff for sure make up for that. Dinner choices are greta - from oysters to bison and elk burger. No doubt the best hotel in Missoula

This hotel is downtown which is nice because you are close to everything and you do not battle all the traffic that you do at the hotel strip where most other hotels are located. The restaurant is excellent and I love incorporating a walk along the river.

Very attentive staff that kept in contact with us during our stay to ensure we were having a good stay. Nice touch to have gratis hot cookies during our stay.

Spent three nights at the Doubletree which included a board meeting and three dinners in the Finn & Porter private dinning room. With the exception of the very unfriendly check-in gal at the front desk, everything was terrific. The back office staff that helped me with the logistics were professional and friendly. The staff highlight was Morgan in the dinning room. She bent over backwards three evenings straight for our group and made us all feel very welcomed. Our rooms were all clean and facin... Read more

all the rooms are "pet friendly" - seems to be a growing trend in chain motels -- supposedly each room w/ pet is "deep cleaned" -- i was up coughing for several hours in the night -- too bad they don't restrict pets to one floor -- studies show it's nearly impossible to remove pet dander from carpets and sofas -- another suggestion would be to offer a decent HEPA filter for guests w/ severe pet allergies otherwise a spacious and comfortable hotel -- resonably clean -- restaurant food was surpri... This hotel has a lot issues, it is very outdated and the HVAC system does not work. I wanted to AC and the room would not get below 71, another guest could not get their room to heat up above 68 :) Restaurant was terrible service. I was offered a cookie upon arrival and never received it - I don't really care about the cookie, but it shows the diligence of the personnel working there. Overall I would not recommend this to anyone. I stayed to be close to the college, but next time will dri... Read more

I have to say that the staff was extremely courteous and accommodating, however the overall conditions of the hotel are unacceptable. The rooms are SO OUTDATED! The rooms are like something from the 70's or possibly the movie "The Shining." I've had to stay at this location for work more than three weeks and I dread it every time. The heat/ac apparently works in a boiler system and the rooms aren't independently regulated, which makes it too hot or too cold. The drains are always plugged and the... Read more

The Doubletree is a great place to stay and hold a convention or meeting. The food for all our meetings was very good. The meeting rooms were conveniently located in the hotel and were perfect for our small group. The sleeping rooms were comfortable. My only complaint was that there was no individual temperature control in our sleeping room and when we first walked in it was very warm and did not need to be that way.
