Nothing special but clean, quiet and comfortable, as you'd expect from a Holiday Inn. Very nice staff. One entrance is very convenient from the parking lot. The other entrance is from the official address, 22 North Last Chance Gulch, which is a pedestrian-only street so keep that in mind if using smart phone directions.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for a trip to Helena. The staff is quite attentive, and the rooms are very clean and spacious. You can't beat the location right downtown at the walking mall and a few blocks from Mount Helena. I hope to be back soon!

We had a great stay, the remodeling job is very nice. It's a great location, close to shopping and restaurants. The service at the hotel was great especially Tabitha at the front desk. We will defiantly be back. The picture is a view from our room. They only thing that would have made our stay better is if the pool was warmer.

The hotel was located In a very nice part of Helena. Was close to where I needed to go. Nice and clean rooms even if it was hard to find. Able to walk to many different places because of the convenient location.

We were very happy that we stayed at this hotel. The location was perfect as it is on the end of a walking mall portion of Last Chance Gulch Street. It was easy to walk to excellent restaurants and bars. The room was clean and nice and staff were very helpful.

I stayed for 2 weeks for work trainings. The staff was great, everyone was so kind and helpful. I was able to use the walking mall to walk to my training and everywhere else I wanted to go. Very close to 2 breweries! My room was clean and large. The bar is great but pricey. There isn't a continental breakfast so I just brought a box of granola bars. There is a bakery just up the block, though. Definitely will stay again.

Room was nice and clean. Maid service was very good and respectful. Every employee I talked to was friendly and helpful. I liked the restaurant better when it was more of a "pub" or a sports bar, so we didn't eat there.

Let me cut to the chase: Stay here only if you've got a great rate that can't be matched anywhere else. If that's not the case, by all means stay at the Best Western Great Northern -- it's in the same price range but sparkles and shines as much as the HI falls flat in its drabness. Don't get me wrong: I rated this HI "average," not poor. It's serviceable. You'll sleep well. It's got a fantastic restaurant, Aster, that you should make a must no matter where you stay. But the HI itself? The parkin... Read more

We have been returning to Holiday Inn Helena yearly for our wedding anniversary celebration. We have lunch at Mediterranean Grill and dinner at Lucca's and this hotel is easy walking distance to both. When we checked in we were greeted at reception by the same woman who greeted us last year. She knew that we returned each year for our anniversary and greeted us warmly. Our room on the 7th floor was fresh and new looking. The appointments seemed new and the bedding luxurious. The view south to th... Read more

For an overnight in Helena this place was fine. It was clean, the front desk manager was friendly, rooms were comfortable. No complaints. Free parking is a plus. No free breakfast but other options in town. Very well located near the pedestrian street with a few bars and restaurants. Lively enough on a Thursday night.

Clean and large room on 5th floor. Double beds x 2. Nice bathroom with bath and shower. Beds soft and comfy. Usual holiday in features. Lots of power points and good free wifi. Parking provided. Well placed in city centre. Bar and restaurant. But restaurant looked expensive - went to Hawthorn wine bar nearby and then fantastic ice cream shop. Recommended.

Staying for 2 week vacation in husband's hometown. The grounds were great - very clean, very nice, updated. The staff was wonderful and the restaurant was excellent. We love how close it is to so much in Helena - we just walked most days in town. We would absolutely stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel for two evenings. It was clean and quite ordinary, which is not a bad thing for a business trip. It had a very good location, downtown on what Helena calls the "Walking Mall". It was very convenient to the business I was visiting and good restaurants were in easy walking distance. The best thing about the hotel, however, was the staff and their help, especially in connection with getting me to and from the airport so I didn't need to rent a car. When I landed I called th... We spent four nights here in the middle of the summer. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The hotel is right on the walking mall and it was fun to walk down the street for everything from coffee, microbrews, wine and restaurants. Big city feel in a small town. We will be back.

The front desk was very helpful and courteous. The room was clean and comfortable. We didn't spend too much time in the hotel. It was quite walkable to the attractions - about a mile to the carousel, children's museum (Exploration Works) and restaurants.

Great location in the historic Last Chance Gulch. Not too hard to find, free parking, convenient location for Gulch shops and great hiking. Fridge, iron and Keurig in room but no microwave. Restaurant and bar in hotel. Pet freindly. Not sure about the housekeeping policy, it seemed like we had to specify every detail to the housekeeper or front desk to get service. Maybe that was just because of the pets.

I can get better value for my money elsewhere in town. This is an older building, but it has been well maintained and updated. They have a restaurant on-site, therefore there is no complimentary breakfast because they don't want to take business away from the restaurant. Rooms are good sized and the beds are slightly more comfortable than average. Staff is pleasant and efficient. The main reason I stay here is convenience to location...otherwise I say its over-priced (even at good discounts... Read more

I have to say that this HI is one of the nicer ones in Montana. The rooms are clean, the staff friendly. The best thing about this hotel is its location. Right downtown and within walking distance of bars and restaurants as well as the walkable Last Chance Gulch, full of little shops. I found the staff to be very helpful and willing to go the extra mile. I actually made a bunch of mistakes booking my room online and the desk person went out of their way to fix things for me. The hotel restauran... Read more

This hotel has a great location proximate to Last Chance Gulch. Also, surprisingly, a very good restaurant. The only knock is m the restaurant is the average by the glass wine list. Competent wait staff - Shannon is a standout. Excellent food. Pricey for a Helena hotel thus 4 stars
