Great location downtown right on the walking mall. The walking mall has the Parrot Confectionery, Lucca's Italian restaurant, Hawthorne wine bar and a brewery. The hotel lobby is nothing much to speak of. Staff friendly. the room was standard but very clean and seemed as if it had been recently updated. Hotel restaurant was good for dinner.

Second time in the beautiful state of Montana, first time in Helena! The hotel was great! It's central in the Downtown area, so good for a nice walk! Really happy with the hotel, it looked beautiful, the restaurant downstairs was amazing! Staff were extremely helpful and lovely, even when my husband and I were trying to book in a shuttle service at 2am the day we were leaving (had to catch a 6am flight) and were quite intoxicated (oopsie lol), they did it no problems! I even left my medication ... Read more

I have stayed at this hotel probably 5 times and every time I have found the front desk staff incredibly warm and helpful. Nice place, but nothing else stands outas extraordinary-standard Holiday Inn .

Jason at the front desk was great with our check-in. We were upgraded to from a king room to a king suite. We had TV, small kitchen sink w/ refrigerator, and internet. The room was very nice. The hotel is in the downtown area and is in walking distance to breweries and places to eat.

I decided to splurge for a "finer" hotel more out of location convenience. I should have paid half the price and stayed where I normally do. I had a king sized bed/room. The bed sloped into the middle. The room was not sound proof. The city workers worked most of the night in the walking mall area shoveling with tractors My room (612) was right by stairwell and you could hear people coming and going throughout late night and early morning. Had dinner in the dining room. Outrageous pric... Read more

This hotel has a great location proximate to Last Chance Gulch. Also, surprisingly, a very good restaurant. The only knock is m the restaurant is the average by the glass wine list. Competent wait staff - Shannon is a standout. Excellent food. Pricey for a Helena hotel thus 4 stars

I have to say that this HI is one of the nicer ones in Montana. The rooms are clean, the staff friendly. The best thing about this hotel is its location. Right downtown and within walking distance of bars and restaurants as well as the walkable Last Chance Gulch, full of little shops. I found the staff to be very helpful and willing to go the extra mile. I actually made a bunch of mistakes booking my room online and the desk person went out of their way to fix things for me. The hotel restauran... Read more

I can get better value for my money elsewhere in town. This is an older building, but it has been well maintained and updated. They have a restaurant on-site, therefore there is no complimentary breakfast because they don't want to take business away from the restaurant. Rooms are good sized and the beds are slightly more comfortable than average. Staff is pleasant and efficient. The main reason I stay here is convenience to location...otherwise I say its over-priced (even at good discounts... Read more

Great location in the historic Last Chance Gulch. Not too hard to find, free parking, convenient location for Gulch shops and great hiking. Fridge, iron and Keurig in room but no microwave. Restaurant and bar in hotel. Pet freindly. Not sure about the housekeeping policy, it seemed like we had to specify every detail to the housekeeper or front desk to get service. Maybe that was just because of the pets.

The front desk was very helpful and courteous. The room was clean and comfortable. We didn't spend too much time in the hotel. It was quite walkable to the attractions - about a mile to the carousel, children's museum (Exploration Works) and restaurants.
