Great room etc. But the service was awful. So unless you aim to check in without interfacing with staff, can carry your own luggae and are preapred to eat outside the hotel, I would stroingly recommend you stay somewhere else (spemwehere about half of the price!!)

The Ritz is a grand hotel, however, the service is not quite as good as it was under the previous general manager. Don't get me wrong, the service is still way beyond most any hotel, however. It used to be extraordinary. I am here for 18 days straight and the front desk staff still ask my name, that never would have happened in the past.

Friendly, attentive, spacious rooms, wonderful munchies and drinks. The best place to stay in St. Louis. Beautiful rooms, with spectacular views across rolling hills of green to the gateway to the west. The roads are plush and tea with large bathrooms and every connected convenience needed. The club floor has a wonderful breakfast, refresh throughout the morning, with New York Times and Wall Street Journal's available. We look forward to returning.

Recently stayed here for a mix of business and pleasure and I was very pleased with the overall appearance and hospitality of the hotel. Room was clean, quiet and the balcony had a great view of the the city and surrounding area. The bar service downstairs in lobby was excellent.

I had a sweet and sour experience at the Ritz Carlton, St. Louis during mother's day. I cannot deny that there are some staff at this Ritz Carlton that certainly provide excellent customer service like the General Manager, Kavita and George at the Front Desk area, and Alice and Lorena for afternoon tea. Unfortunately, there is so little to say about the service provided, food presentations, and furniture at the Club Lounge. Lack of service, same food presentations with no change on a daily basis... Was a nice stay again, club level was great, however strange no Crown Royal whiskey. Figure a place like that with the prices, they have that. Go down stairs to lounge, they had it for $16 a drink, seemed steep. Used to have it in Club, service prior better too. If going charge $500 a room in St. Louis, need be impressed

We were looking for a comfortable overnight for a quick trip to St. Louis for a 50th anniversary celebration and the Ritz-Carlton was just fine, quite reasonable with our AMEX Platinum rate and fit the bill. We left a phone charger and they located it immediately and sent it to us FedEx with a smile which was much appreciated. Dining room was practically empty for lunch and dinner but food was well prepared and professionally served. I have to say this is an "adequate+ Ritz but not quite up to... Read more

This Hotel surpassed my expectations. The staff was very friendly throughout the place which was the best part. They consistently addressed me by my name and were very attentive. I have never felt so welcomed in a Hotel. The lobby was elegant with a working fireplace. Service at the bar was prompt and their restaurant excellent. The room was large, the bathroom spacious, and the bed quite comfortable. The property is spotless. Very close to attractions like the Arch, the Zoo and the Missouri bot... Read more

I spent the night at the Ritz for a staycation. It was a gift from family and definitely luxurious. I started with a massage that was amazing- and I never get massages bc I did not really think I liked them and did not want to spend the money. Well now I will compare any massages to the Ritz and they may pale in comparison. It is almost 36 hours later and I am still relaxed! The facilities and staff were excellent. My room was spotless and the bed was beyond comfortable. Friends joined me for ... Read more

Have stayed here many times for business meetings. This Ritz is comfortable and has great service while not being stuffy/snooty. Parking garage, taxis park right across the street so there's never a wait. Good restaurant, sushi bar, and room service. No pool. Spa and gym. Room always comfortable and clean. Love the furnished bathrobe. Easy access to roads/highway.

Mario and Jasmina greeted us with warm welcomes upon our arrival, and the valet staff was very helpful in aiding us in parking our vehicle. The people taking service to another level is what makes the Ritz great! The rooms were spacious and I highly recommend the Executive suite on club level. Views from the Club Lounge of the Arch were stupendous. Jose took great care of us and made sure the area was stocked with beverages and delicious food items to the very end of the display time. We recently spent the weekend here and were extremely impressed. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. The staff was incredibly attentive (not in a creepy way) and even knew my name by the first time I called for my car. We had breakfast at the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. The lobby and grounds were all well maintained and in all respects the attention to detail was incredible. We will be back!

We use to stay here 3 or 4 times a year over the course of 5 or 6 years and we loved it. It's still a favorite but would like to see major renovations to the rooms without the loss of its old school charm. The rooms are quite dated but this hotel holds such great memories for our family. ???

We arrived just after a severe thunderstorm had gone through St Louis and knocked the power off in our hotel. The staff never missed a beat, however. The elevators were down of course so we sat in the lobby with a beverage and waited. After a half hour we decided to hike the twelve floors to our room. We didn't really want to leave in the darkening gloom to find dinner and maybe climb those flights again, so you can imagine how we felt when the knock came on the door and there stood a chef a... Valet was incredible. Best & most attentive I have seen in years. Always ready and super eager to serve. Check in with George was subpar. He did his level best to confuse me on the package I had purchased. I am still not certain if it was intentional or his lack of knowledge. Our room was reserved as two double beds. After a long day traveling with 2 small children, going to the zoo, & dinner, we came to back to a king sized bed and were told we'd have a roll away bed brought up. After an hour, at 8:45pm, I called three times to be told we wouldn't be getting a roll away bed as they didn't have any. So a makeshift bed would be created on the floor. No other rooms available. I had my first visit to St. Louis in May, and was pleased to see we were booked in the Ritz Carleton. It was a bit tough to find, but i think St. Louis is a confusing city to navigate! In any event, I was on the concierge floor and found the offerings and service impeccable. It is really nice to be able to have a leisurely breakfast or lunch, or drinks and a snack right down the hall. The fitness center was also exceptional.

Obviously, the Ritz is well-placed in the St. Louis area, as Clayton is filled with high-end restaurants, boutiques, and city government offices. However, there were a lot of little things that made our stay a bit disappointing, given the level you'd expect from a Ritz. For starters, the garage parking and valet parking are the same cost. While valet has you enter through a very nice front entrance, coming from the garage with all of your items is a bit of a schlep, and you have no sense of whe... Read more

This is how a brand like Ritz Carlton can destroy their own reputations for high quality. I've stayed in their hotels all over the country and this location is one of the worst. The service that I've come to love in over 25 years of visits is not present here. It started as soon as we sat in their driveway, and were ignored until we got out of our car and asked for help. We stayed here for a wedding. Check in was easy, and we had no issues with the front desk people. The rooms were spacious, but nothing out of the ordinary. Could probably use some updating. The lounge bar is very crowded, and the wait staff didn't seem eager to wait on us. There is not much around the hotel of interest, other than a few places to eat and the court house. My first experience with a Ritz-Carlton. Wow! No wonder it has such a high reputation. The property was beautiful. The decor amazing. The room and view were breath-taking. I enjoyed a quiet and comfortable stay there. The only reason I am not giving this hotel 5 stars is a few minor "gotchas".
