Felt like I was walking into a different era, the hotel still has the charm of a time when everything wasn't cookie cutter predictable. Staff were all very attentive, friendly and helpful. Room had everything we needed, didn't feel like 'same room different city'. Continental breakfast covered everything necessary to start the day without being overwhelming. The room was quiet, the bed comfortable, the free wi-fi a nice bonus. If I was coming back outside of business, I would definitely sta... Read more

We enjoyed our two night stay here for a little weekend getaway. The hotel was in a great location, and was within walking distance of many restaurants and bars. The lobby of the hotel is beautiful. We stayed in the Corner Suite, and the hotel room was nice, spacious, and very clean. I loved the make up vanity counter. However, I was a little disappointed in the shower/tub. I feel like that was the only downside to the hotel. The staff was prompt and friendly, but we weren't informed of the amen... Read more

My husband and I stop to stay in St. Louis a couple times a year when we travel across the country to see family, and usually stay at the five star accommodation in town. After reading the positive reviews on trip advisor about this historic hotel, we decided to branch out and stay at the Magnolia hotel. Boy, were we horribly disappointed. Upon arrival, there was only enough space for 1-2 small vehicles to pull up for valet service and so we had to park our vehicle in the right lane of traffic t... Read more

The room service was great, I could eat their food every day.. I loved the milk and cookies bar at night also lol. I honestly can't wait to stay again. Definitely recommend those who visit St. Louis to consider this hotel.

If there were more stars to give this place I would give them 11. My new bride and I enjoyed every minute of our stay. The staff were always ready to help. And made our stay very smooth. The property is beautiful, with the stained glass windows and rough iron in Robies. We will be staying there again!

Enjoyed our stay here. Nice quiet room with very comfortable bed. Great location, within walking distance of the stadium as well as plenty of restaurants. The valet service cost an extra $28 a night but was well worth it. You could request your car via text and they would have it ready for you within 15 minutes at the front door. We accidently left something in the car that we needed and they quickly brought the car back around to us to retrieve it - while maintaining a positive, friendly at... Read more

Very nice and quiet. Really have no complaints. There wasn't a fridge/microwave in my room, which is always nice but I don't always expect them in this type of boutique hotel. The bar is cool with great modern touches to play off of the historic building (large stained glass windows). Food was also pretty good to order. The price was definitely right. It's clear they are trying hard and I hope they can make a go of it. I am guessing they have several room styles. The hotel was beautifully decorated and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable! The breakfast buffet which was included in the price was more of a continental breakfast. It would have been fine for us ladies, but we had big men in our group and they weren't satisfied with what was offered so we ended up going to a restaurant. This is a beautiful hotel located conveniently in downtown St. Louis. We were able to walk to Busch Stadium. Service was excellent. Breakfast was nice. Valet parking was a bit pricey at $26 so we found an overnight garage a couple blocks away for $16. Walls are a little thin as we could hear a phone off the hook in the next room. Other than that we really didn't hear much. My only real complaint was the shower. The water pressure was so high it felt like walking into a hurricane.

Walking is key in visiting a city. Do the streets feel safe and relaxed? Is the urban neighborhood vibrant and busy? Does the hotel allow for easy street access. The Magnolia Hotel essentially offered an all access pass to St. Louis with its location and lobby design. The hotel had a long, successful history as the Mayfair and now after a thorough renovation, it welcomes out-of-town guests as part of the well curated Magnolia Hotel Collection. St. Louis is an old city....it was 100 years old when Chicago was started. In the last 50 years it has begun to lose population (from a million to 300,000), and in many ways it's a sad story. There are great relics of the past (the old Federal Court House; Forest Park; the Muni Opera; St. Louis University; the Mississippi River)....and some not so old sights like the new Cardinals Baseball Stadium, and the Magnolia Hotel. Much of the population has moved from the city to the county.
