The bad: Half-eaten potato chips on the floor of my room when I checked in. A stain on the seating surface of the white side chair that caused me to avoid the chair entirely. Filthy carpets in the room and the hallways. Odd wear marks on the headboard that were pretty creepy. A dark and lonely parking garage that seemed like the opening scene of way too many TV shows. A loud and incessant mechanical noise that ran continuously, all night long. Elevators straight from the 1960s, and other ... Read more

We contracted the Sheraton Clayton for a hotel block for guests at our wedding in St. Louis, and we had a wonderful experience. Tina, our Group Sales Manager, was very responsive and helped with everything from welcome bags to coordinating a Friday night reception in the lobby bar. We loved our suites, our guests enjoyed their rooms and the great location, and the downstairs bar turned into a fun meeting place throughout the weekend. The location is ideal - walkable to local hot spots and only... Read more

This Sheraton was in a good location for a family reunion we were attending close by. We had booked three rooms: 2 on floor 6 and 1 on the top club floor. There was no difference between the club floor and the regular floor. An unknown stain directly on the carpet in front of my door was an unwelcome reminder that this may not be the cleanest hotel I have stayed at. Although the front desk offered my 74 year old parents a valet to bring up their bags, they were not willing to let them borrow... Read more

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. This time we brought our 2 children with us. At first glance the hotel looks fairly decent, just a little run down (stains on the floor, paint peeling off the walls). The staff at the front desk was very friendly and even changed our room from a king to a 2 queen room with no hassle. (needed more room for the kids) Our room was okay, I've stayed in a lot better for cheaper. There was no refrigerator, and no bath...just a very very small show... Read more

We were on a club floor and had access to the club lounge for free evening appetizers, wine and beer, plus morning breakfast. I was expecting more for each. The room was fine and bed comfortable, and location good for our needs. The staff at the front desk and valet were very nice. Although minor, I was surprised that the cleaning staff did not leave fresh soap the second morning since only a partial small bar was left. Then on our day of check out, housekeeping was knocking at our door at ... Read more

The hotel rooms were quiet and clean. No refrigerators though. The LCD TV was a 32" I think, so a little small. The parking garage was terrible, especially by the exit. It takes you basically right near an off-ramp from a highway, which you have to make a very sharp almost 45 degree turn. This turn caused me to back up and cause damage to the tail light of my vehicle because the cement rail was not view-able in my rear mirror. Not happy about that! The pool was large, deep (3' to 9'), and ver... Read more

Lucked in and got this hotel on sale. Loved everything about it. Good little restaurant/bar within with amazing beet salads. Front desk staff very good. I needed a fridge and they sent one up right away. All staff excellent. Great location. Slept like a baby in wonderful sheets with dreamy pillows. I highly recommend this hotel. It should be a 4 star not 3 1/2. Hotel is not luxury but it is comfortable and affordable.

The service is always quite good. This visit we used their Alexander's Room for a dessert reception for old friends. It's at the rear of the first floor, past the bar, where breakfast and lunch are served. We planned on about 30 friends. The event coordinator worked with us to have a savory dessert selection with a coffee service at a reasonable cost per person. Champagne was passed out once the event was underway. All our friends loved the food, attention and atmosphere! Very memorable e... Read more

I like to stay in a hotel that is close to family. It is easier, especially in a large city, to be close for family meals and activities. The Sheraton in Clayton is close to a son and his family. It is close to churches, shopping, parks, the zoo and restaurants. Aside from location, I look at price. This particular weekend, the price was right! The hotel was hosting 2 weddings and another party. I would not have realized it as the halls were quiet and the staff was attentive, helpful and patien... Read more

We booked this room on Hotwire and paid a very reasonable price for three nights. It was a smaller than standard room with very little space and poor lighting. Queen size bed was ok, not great, but ok. Only one nightstand had a light so my husband and I could not both read in bed. Also the only chair in the room was for the 'desk' so there was no where else to sit except the bed. The bathroom was also tiny. Arrival was great and Jeremy was awesome in checking us in, letting us know the complete situation since we were a bit early and providing options to us. We booked a block of rooms for our wedding, and in our (and our guests) experience, everyone that works there was excellent. The level of service was truly top notch. In these days where customer service tends to be lacking (and at best impersonal), this hotel stands far above the pack. If you're looking for nice accommodations and a staff that is ready and willing to go above and beyond, I'd highly recommend this hotel.

I held a group event at the Sheraton Clayton and all of the guest under my group found that the staff of the hotel were very friendly and courteous. The breakfast was delicious and the hospitality was outstanding. My event manager, Tina Torgenson, did an excellent job having everything set up for me and my guest. I will be looking forward to holding future events.

This Sheraton is a bit smaller (room wise) than we've be at before. Staff was WONDERFUL! Parking garage needs WORK-looks almost dangerous in spots. VERY close to the metrolink (which needs to be totted more!!) Makes getting around to Forest Park, downtown pretty easy. One thing we didn't like-the pillows. For some reason, the rest of the bedding seemed to be Sheraton quality but the pillows were non-existent. :(

As spg we received a free upgraded room which was awesome. Also used the shuttle service which was great. My star rating is relative to the cost to stay here at the time of booking which was $200/nt. If it had cost less, I would give it a 3 star rating. I stayed here for five nights last month. One of the most dismal hotels in the sheraton chain I have stayed in. The carpets are threadbare and my room had dirty carpets and stains on the walls. At this time of the year it is very hot and humid but no way can you sleep with the airconditioning on because it goes on and off every couple of minutes with an almighty bang. The staff were pleasant but that cannot make up for the neglect and upkeep of what must assume is supposed to be a reasonable quality business hotel. I have club membershi... Read more

Everything about this hotel is compact. Being in a downtown setting, space is at a premium. The room I stayed in (6th floor) was small but clean. The bedding was clean and crisp, many pillows to choose from. The decor was ok and the headboards were fine. (some prior reviews showed photos of headboards that were pretty bad.). We had a very nice room on level 10 with all the usual amenities including fridge, tea/coffee making facilities and an extremely comfortable queen size bed. Free WiFi was available. I called the front desk and complained and they said they were sorry, that's it. I still find it hard to believe. I will first say that the service at the Sheraton Clayton Plaza was top notch, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Any issues i had with the hotel had nothing to do with the staff. That being said, the property itself seems to have been neglected over the years. When I first walked in my room, the desk chair was an old banquet chair covered in stains.
