We stayed at more than one hotel on our recent trip to St. Louis. First night was downtown, near the 60's Arch & equal period hotels, I looked under boutique/unique hotels- to no avail. Only great stead hotels. Next move was near the University and Moon Rise. Yes, god bless you! A breath of fresh air in hotel design, hotel clientele, hotel approach to community and corporate citizenship. Cutting edged design, yes, but that always seems to get you into at best next year, better was a real commit... Read more

Visited this hotel as the first stop on a long distance. Everyone from the valet to the front desk was great. What was best was the location. Delmar is the happening place in St. Louis. Close to Washington University, the street life, stores, and restaurants are a treat.

my wife and I stayed at this hotel because of an enjoyable stay we've had in the past. The room was just as we expected - large, clean and comfortable. The hotel is ideally located on Delmar Blvd. and within walking distance of several good restaurants. Parking was not a problem for us as there is a public lot with free parking behind the hotel. If filled, the hotel offers valet parking for a fee. The only problem we had was noisy guests coming in at all hours of the night. The next morning when... Read more

The hotel is great! Lots of fun (and some serious) moon and NASA themed memorabilia . . . but they don't skip attention to detail . . . our rooms were spotless and the staff was very helpful in suggesting places to eat, etc. Everything was just great. We did have a room on the 3rd floor that had a bit of street noise, but we slept soundly. The room on the 5th floor did not have any street noise. Would definitely stay here again.

The location of the hotel is perfect - it's right on the Delmar loop and within walking distance to WashU. What has disappointing has been the actual stay at the hotel - our room was right across from the linen room and we just heard hotel staff talking LOUDLY by the linen starting at around 8:15 and yesterday when I laid down to take a nap after check-in, the linen room door just kept opening, slamming shut and we could hear the linen cart coming and going well into the late afternoon. This place is a bit kooky, in that it has a strong moon-theme to it, but it is actually an excellent hotel that has every element that you want in a good family and business hotel. Comfortable, quiet, good working spaces, the right amenity, good location. I will stay here again for sure.

Nice hotel in a great location on Delmar Blvd in The Loop district of St. Louis. Came to St. Louis for a concert at The Pageant which is right next door to the Moonrise. Checked in at 3pm and the receptionist gave us a walking map of the area with highlighted restaurant he recommended. We explored the area for several hours and was impressed with the development of this part of St. Louis. I highly recommend you check out the rooftop bar/lounge area at the top of the Moonrise Hotel for some a... Read more

A great view of the arch, a place to sit outside for fresh air, and interesting cocktails. I will definitely go back. I met the artist whose art will eventually be hanging downstairs in the bar, so even if you don't make it to the roof stop by and look at the metal art.

We were very disappointed in the room. We had arranged for a deluxe queen but it was very small. There were no movies on demand as was looking forward to that. We had to ask for an extra robe. The restaurant was closed too.

Ugh. We stayed here after a concert, tired, etc. In the room, a roach the size of my thumb scurried across the wall. My husband killed it with his shoe. We called the front desk, and the man was nice and apologized and said that they would call for a spray soon, that it was the second complaint that week. I didn't sleep well, but I was too tired to find another hotel.

We spent two nights here and we were very pleased. Room was good size, bed was comfy, no noise and good sized bathroom. The hotel itself has a wonderful plaza/bar area on the 8th floor. Great place to grab a drink and feel a cool breeze on a hot day. Offers a glimpse of downtown and the arch as well. We loved the location and being able to walk down Delmar and find great places to eat. Most of the places are relaxed and casual and good! We would stay at the Moonrise again....

This was our second stay at the Moonrise Hotel. If you are visiting Wash U., this is a great place to stay. It is about a 7-8 block walk to the campus, and the Delmar Loop restaurants are at your doorstep. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good and not too expensive. I was looking for a hotel with some character near to the Washington University campus. Moonrise has kind of a 50s Space Age decor, which is very fun (not overdone), so you feel like you're not just in another chain hotel. The room was nicely appointed, comfortable, and quiet. The staff were all very friendly, efficient, and funky. The location was perfect; it's right on The Loop, which is the hangout for the Wash U students, with at least ten good options for dinner. First off, this place is very cool. Boutique hotel experience with great personality. It's modern without taking it to the extreme. The rooms are spacious and very nicely appointed. I wouldn't go so far to say that it's a luxury experience but it is definitely an upgrade over the standard hotel chain that you'd find at the same price point. This is the reason I come up short of 5-stars. The staff was nice but a little slow to take action on requests and the walls are thin. My neighbors were loud... Read more

I just spent a single night at the Moonrise Hotel, and came away with an overall impression that's very mixed. First, the hotel's location is in a hip little neighborhood close to a university campus, and this sense of "hipness" continued when I walked into the lobby: it has a slightly edgy, nuanced décor and - at least for the time I was there - I never saw a single hotel worker who looked over the age of (maybe) twenty-five. My daughter and I stayed here while touring Wash U at the beginning of August. The hotel staff were very friendly and the location both to the University and The Loop were excellent. The rooftop bar/restaurant was nice to have but the weather, as you would probably guess, was a bit too hot to be in the open. Luckily there is a nicely air-conditioned enclosed area there as well. The drinks and food were decent albeit expensive. I wouldn't hesitate staying here again.

We had previously had many satisfactory but unmemorable stays in some of the more traditional hotels in the St. Louis / University City / Clayton area while visiting our daughter at college. This was our first time at the Moonrise and we would return without hesitation. It is a unique ... Read more

This boutique hotel does not disappoint. We stayed in one of the suites which was clean, spacious and lovely. The staff was very helpful. The decor throughout the hotel is a lot of fun, and the rooftop bar is not to be missed. I highly recommend a visit to this fun and unique hotel!

This hotel was everything I was looking for. I wanted a weekend away in the big city to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, but wanted to bring our Great Dane. The hotel was perfect for this! I got a birthday package that included cake and champagne, plus free valet parking (highly recommended on busy weekends!). We explored the city, walking up and down Delmar and over to Forest Park. It is unfortunate that there are no free dog parks around, and dogs aren't allowed in the restaurants or b... Read more

The Moonrise is always great. Superb staff, a fantastic bar with a view of the city, and close to many attractions. Anytime someone asks me for a hotel recommendation in St. Louis, the Moonrise is always at the top of my list.

I saw an ad for the Moonrise Hotel in the local Chamber of Commerce magazine that I requested to be mailed to me before my actual visit to St.Louis. I fell in love with the photo and knew instinctively that was where I wanted to stay. The staff is friendly and helpful. From my first phone call where I spoke with Justice until my exit one week later, I was never disappointed in the staff or the service. I got to know Justice and Connor among other hotel employees. Everyone was smiling. That tells... Read more

This hotel is amazing!!! Very cool atmosphere, awesome staff! Great location, with lots of great restaurants in the area. Highly recommend!! We chose it because of its close proximity to The Pageant. We would definitely stay here again!

This hotel is cool. I like the early 20th-century kitschy sci-fi theme they have going here. The staff is very friendly, and the rooms are clean and well-appointed. Free parking behind the hotel. The location is ideal, just steps from Piccione's and lots of great restaurants. The only catch is the NOISE. From the street, which they can't control, but also from the loud, drunk hippies getting sauced till the wee hours in the rooftop bar. Which I could hear several floors down. Which only... Read more

This is a very appealing hotel. While the furnishings are a fun take on modern, it's quite clean and comfortable as well. There's a gently welcoming ambiance from staff to decor. Tired travelers arriving at 10:00 at night, we picked up some dinner in a great little foodie restaurant off the lobby. I also enjoyed the Buffy the vampire slayer vodka cocktail with cucumber and elderflower, etc. We were in town to tour Wash.U with our daughter and the hotel is just a mile from campus. Moonrise is in ... Read more

I stayed there the weekend of November 11th and 12th as a get away weekend. I was drawn to the hotel because of it's advertising and promotion strategy both on Trip Advisor and it's website. It rates itself as St. Louis' "premier boutique hotel". Well I'm not sure about that designation but it sure is an interesting place. The rooftop bar might remind you of something in Chicago or New York. Definitely a cool place to have a drink. The hotel is right next to the Pageant concert venue so you can ... Read more

This is a very nice hotel. From the valet parking staff, to the front desk and house keeping, you are treated with smiles, service and quality. Rooms are always clean and check out as late as noon. Restaurants, bars and shops right out front door. The concert hall, the Pageant is right next door. Bar on top of hotel, full season. Pricey, but worth it.

Stayed a night after watching Comedian Iliza Schlesinger at The Pageant. First plenty of free parking behind the pageant, check in was fast and friendly. If you have pets they have a water bowl and snacks( with your pets name written above it). The moon memorabilia is eclectic and very cool. Our room was spotless, neat artwork again moon themed, only thing they didn't have was a tv schedule. Would definitely stay here again for a show at the pageant.
