The property is old but the staff are trying. The rooms on the river side are much quieter. Some rooms are more updated than others. They serve a free continental breakfast but it is very basic. The casino next door has a 24 hr restaurant named The Diner which serves breakfast. The star system denotes amenities. Two stars includes air dryers in the room for example. Which they have, however the property is old which makes you think more like a one star. Previous guests have not held to rules ... Read more

Our non-smoking room smelled like smoke. The beds were comfortable and the TV had a good selection of channels. Our refrigerator still had items in it from previous guests. We also had a microwave, but we didn't use that during our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful; I would give 5 stars for their assistance. The continental breakfast is quite basic. It's near the highway so that was a bit loud, and it's very dark at night. There are very few streetlights in the area. It is walk... Read more

I came to St. Louis on a short business trip and wanted to stay somewhere cheap but downtown. I rented a room here and from the time I checked in there was nothing but problems. The rooms smelled like heavy cigarette smoke. The sheets were filthy, I don't think they had been changed. The bathroom was DISGUSTUNG,toilet still had urine on it. there was someone's old food in the refrigerator, the microwave was gross and hadn't been cleaned. front desk had a terrible odor. The "breakfast" is cheap m... Read more

The outside of the hotel looked a little bit scary when we first pulled up. We were in town for the Monster Truck Show which was right across the street from this hotel. The rooms were what would be expected and the staff accommodated the fact that we wanted rooms right next to each other. The walls were thin but other then that I found the stay very pleasant. The staff went over and beyond to help us, every one of then we came in contact with provided excellent customer service. We would c... Read more

The place looks like something from Twiglight Zone - booked on line as no other accommodation in St. Lewis was available - we could smell it as soon as we got out of the car. The room was facing the motorway and had a badly fitted door which muffled no outside noise - it was like sleeping rough in a lay-by. The room stunk of stale air and the carpet had blood stains which no one thought needed removing. For $129 + tax I expected an average room .... But got something I did not want to take my sh... What a horrid "inn"! We've stayed at ABVI's before and they were amazing. Not this one! The only thing it has going for it is nice staff. The room smelt of cigarettes which was sickening. The paint in the bathroom was peeling and mouldy. There was some sort I dried fluid running down the back of the bathroom door. The bathroom doors handle was broken and came off in your hand. The bathroom door was warped and wouldnt close properly. There was other people's hair in the bath and on the bathroom ... Read more
