We tried the buffet again, The food that was supposed to be hot was cold. Very few selections. Fish tray only had four pieces in it. The food is terrible now. It used to be great, long lines to eat, but well worth it. Now no waiting, very few customers. I tried to complain to the Buffet Manager, he only made excuses! We will not be returning there to eat again!!

I love this hotel, The design, the decor, beauty of the hotel as you walk in the main hotel entrance. There rooms are very spacious and the bathrooms or that of one out of a Disney princess story book. They have a ton of counter space, and the huge shower with the rainfall shower head is amazing! The beds are very comfy, almost like sleeping on air. and if you get a room on the north ( I think its the north end of the building) the windows are floor to ceiling, makes for some great views! A couple friends and I stayed here on Saturday night. What a beautiful room. Nice room on the 9th floor. Nice tall ceiling. Comfortable beds. Gorgeous shower with dual shower heads. Efficient quick check in. $5 valet parking. Worth the money to stay. Will definitely stay again.

This was just an overnight stay coming from a wedding, so we were already on a high. Check in was quick and easy, but use the valets walking from the parking lot with luggage is far. Took our stuff up to room, 2 comfy beds, lots of pillows, very clean. Bathroom is hugh with a 2 shower heads in shower, blowdryer and makeup mirror with light. Went to eat at Journeys, very good food but service was slow and they were not busy. On to the Casino I thought it would of been bigger, not many machines th... Read more

Well it is a great hotel, very beautiful entrance and nice rooms with killer bathrooms and freaking AWESOME Showers. However, you pay everytime you turn around. Coffee is not free it's 2.50 and it's not even good coffee,.. Oh and WiFi is 10 bucks a DAY- WHAT!?!? we are in 2016 right? Wow, I can't even. Food is expensive and the bakery is overpriced to boot. $5.00 for a muffin? No! Unless you are oozing with pockets of cash and freebies you might want to stay somewhere else,.. but those showers,.... I used to stay at Argosy and play in the casino often (at least every other week). I enjoyed the rooms and thought they were by far the best casino hotel rooms in KC, but our last visit changed all that. This all happened around March 2016. When we arrived we found that the bathroom was not cleaned at all. There was hair all over the toilet and on the floor that didn't come from the head. There was a big block in the refrigerator that appeared to be drugs. This was very nasty so it was rep... Read more

This is my third or fourth visit over ten years, or so. I like this place, even for KC business, because it is only 10-minutes from downtown, and it is a nice property -- or was. I mean, it's still nice, it's just not as nice as it was when I first visited many years ago. It, unfortunately, like me, is showing it's age. Up to management, but if they wanted to put some money into it, they could replace some of the worn furnishings, and shore up the housekeeping. The property itself is still stell... Read more

We had a free room offer as members of their Players' Club at the Argosy. Check-in was quick, the room was SO nice, and the service was top-notch. We parked in a gated lot where the gate was activated by our room key, and the parking was close and convenient.

I would highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are big, comfortable and clean. The shower is excellent. The staff is very friendly & helpful. The rooms are very quiet especially when so close to a casino. There are good restaurants. There is a nice spa & workout area, but there is not a pool. Well worth the stay.

We were told that it was non smoking and that was so not true. The rooms air conditioner didnt work and when I went to take a shower in the walk in shower with stone seats in it, I sat down (after turning on water) and my butt was burned by left over cleaner not washed off. The staff was rude and unfriendly and we had hotels.com move us to another motel. We had bad food there and our clothes smelled like a smoke factory for the rest of the trip. When we showed up at the 300 check in room was not... Read more

The room was a nice size, comfortable and clean. The bed wasn't as soft as I like but not bad. The shower was huge. The staff was very friendly. The housekeeping lady was very sweet and did a wonderful job. I was here for a business meeting and the meeting rooms were good. We also had lunch served the day of our meeting and it was really good. I didn't gamble much but the casino seemed nice and clean. I would stay again.

Upon arrival there was no staff at the valet and the turnabout was congested, come to learn the hotel software was down. There were several guests ahead who appeared to have been waiting sometime, but staff was working well at communicating and setting expectations, a suggestion to visit one of the restaurants or be provided with a discount coupon could of gone a long way here... Just our thought. Nonetheless we were able to get a nice room, although they missed the added amenity and we had to c... Read more

We enjoyed our stay here. The casino was a bit smaller than expected, but had what we needed. I was disappointed to learn that smoking is permitted on the casino floor - I'm pregnant and it's just a no-brainer where we come from that relatively public areas such as restaurants, etc. and casinos, are smoke-free. But, I suspect that is more legislation than the casino. There was a small non-smoking area in the casino, but it was only marginally less smoky as it is open to the smoking area. We ate ... Disappointed. Expensive. Room not properly cleaned. Asked for re-clean, housekeeper was rude and argumentative. No late check out available. Disappointed. Expensive. Decent management. Robert in Journeys restaurant was responsive. at the restaurant Journeys; good food with VERY long wait. Lots of choices in KC; not sure I'd come back here. Unfortunate.

We have stayed at Argosy once before, for my husband's birthday. I was anxious to try it again, this time for our anniversary. For starters, we barely received any acknowledgment or accolades for sharing our special day here. Some hotels will give you champagne, strawberries, or some memento. This hotel will be lucky to give you a congratulations. For a hotel, they are extremely cheap. In regards to our room, there were some notable "eek" moments. Our ice bucket still had water in it, showing ... Read more

Lost our A/C unit at 103 degrees and had to find a hotel while it was being fixed. The Argosy was recommended. Room was quoted at $139. They charged us $149. Room was nice. The shower was luxurious! The morning Buffet was excellent. Down side was a bottle of water is $3. There are no microwaves for guest use on the property (per front desk). Lots of slots and table games. $5 ante and up for blackjack. Very friendly staff. Multiple restaurant options including a Deli on the gaming floor, 99 Hops for beer and burgers and an upscale steakhouse. This fall, a new Mexican venue called, "Lucky Taco" will be opening. Ample parking, indoors if preferred. Very friendly and helpful staff. Security is ample and present and my wife always feels safe there, even if arriving before, after or without me.

Friend of my brother in KC for 2 days from Venezuela, 27 years old. Argosy would not accept his valid Venezuela drivers license, said they needed to see a passport, drove him 40 minutes round trip back to my house to get his passport. Showed it to the "door man" who looked 15 years old, he thought it was a fake passport, even though professional US customs agents didn't have a problem with it, took it somewhere for 30 minutes while they ran back ground checks, just to find out that they weren... The lasagna was the best I have ever eaten. They have wood-fired baked pizza that looked wonderful but I was too full to try it. I tried roast turkey breast (moist and tender), pork tenderloin (cooked perfectly) and the fried chicken, also very tasty. My wife liked the meatloaf but I didn't try it. They als... Read more

I stayed at this hotel because of a business meeting. I usually don't like staying at a casino because you normally have to go through the casino just to get to your room. That is not the case at this hotel - it is separate from the casino. In fact, I never even entered the casino the 4 nights I stayed here. The facility is well kept and has a great Italian theme throughout. Great service. Great staff. Exceptional sleeping room. The room is spacious with a HUGE bathroom. Bed was very com... Read more
