The rooms are similar to a dorm room size. When you read in reviews that the rooms are small they are actually half the size that you are thinking. It's not that they aren't roomy, it's that they are very very cramped, the furniture doesn't even fit. The funky/trendy/charming vibe they are trying for doesn't come close to making up for the poor quality of the hotel. The staff seemed bored. I'm pretty easy to please with hotels and don't mind "charming" over luxurious hotels but this place is wo... Read more

Stayed here the night before a Chiefs game with a couple of friends. We really enjoyed being able to walk around downtown KC and the proximity to the Power and Light district. Bar on the main floor was convenient and hospitable. Rooms were very clean. Down side was the amount of construction happening on the back side of the building and parking garage. Went to KC to see The Who at Sprint Center. Everyone was very helpful. Jeremy (Assistant front office manager) upgraded us to a bigger corner room using some of our points. There's a diner called the Silver Spoon just a block away if you want some simpler eating. Breakfast buffet was quite good. The chef came out and met us personally. Went to The Phoenix jazz club on the valet's suggestion (within walking distance) and had a great time. Wish I could have remembered everyone's name on the sta... Read more

The hotel is really nice and the staff was great. It was a good value for the price we paid but we had an adjoining room and out neighbors partied all night. Not there fault and I would never mark on them because that has definitely been me but it was like they were in our room with us. We turned up the A/C to drown them out and that worked. Other than that good place just be weary of the adjoining rooms.

What can I say, I traveled to Kansas City for this years Planet Comic Con with my Mother, and I had to pick a place (Aladdin Holiday Inn) that looked extremely fancy in the photos, but was taken by surprise. I felt extremely ripped-off! I know this place was refurbished from an old 1930's building, but I think it needs to be waaaay more refurbished. This is an old hotel that's been restored, so you can expect the rooms to be much smaller than most modern hotels, however the rooms are nicely appointed and clean. I liked the character the building has and the staff was terrific. I stayed here using points and was pleased to find that the hotel included valet parking and breakfast for 2 with the room. I was pleased with my visit and will stay here again any time I have business to do downtown.

All the staff we encountered were extremely helpful and very friendly; from the valet, to the front desk, to the bar... we really enjoyed interacting with the staff at this hotel. However, the hotel itself is just ok. Very clean and definitely somewhat recently remodeled, but since it's a pretty old building the rooms are small and so are the bathrooms. They definitely put the effort in to make it a 5-star experience, but the structure of the building just doesn't allow for it. I still recommend... Read more

I have never stayed downtown KC but decided to give it a try when a friend was in town visiting. There seems to be several other better choices in the area but I got a good deal and decided to try the Aladdin. It's a historic hotel, so I hesitate giving it a negative review but I've seen many other historic hotels returned to their grandeur. First visit to KC. Staff was super nice. Good breakfast buffet. Really liked the fruit infused water in the lobby because it was hot outside. I always think parking is too high anywhere I go so no comment on that. Great location if you want to hang out downtown. Room was nice. Small but I don't mind as long as it's clean. I liked the character of the old building. 2nd floor bar overlooking the lobby. I'd stay here again.
