We had a block of rooms for Friday and Saturday night to accommodate guests for our Son's wedding. The staff from day one was very helpful in making our whole experience nothing less than Fantastic. Many members of the staff made sure our rooms were where we wanted them to be and that everyone was taken care of. The shuttle service made sure to get us to and from the rehearsal dinner, church and even the reception. I am very glad we chose this hotel for this event, they were great to work wi... Read more

I frequent the Kansas City area and this Holiday Inn has been my hotel of choice near the Plaza. The rooms are comparable to all other hotels, however this holiday inn has something the other nearby hotels do not; a wonderfully sweet bartender Simmone.I have been coming to KC for a few days every week for last 3 months and often I will get dinner at the hotel because i am exhausted and dont want to go out. Had a wonderful stay at Holiday Inn Country Club Plaza attending a national conference. Checking in was a painless process and a very nice attendants that were very helpful. The rooms were nice and cleaned daily--always looked like you just checked in. The staff there were excellent. Giving a special shout out to Simone in the bar. She was very friendly, enthusiastic and very welcoming.

Following the long and arduous journey across the Great Plains from Colorado my wife and I were looking for a little excitement in our night. With the plaza only a few blocks away there was plenty to do and see. The hotel was big but quiet and the staff did all they could to accommodate our feisty cattle dog. I would recommend this hotel for locals and travelers alike.

I stayed here for the convenient location and free shuttle to the Plaza, but will return for the service. My waiter's service during breakfast takes this hotel over the top. Patrick is the best! He noticed that I liked coffee in the morning, and he kept my coffee filled and hot. He even brought a to-go cup, so I could take my coffee on the road. He put a smile on my day!

We stayed there on a Saturday night for a ladies weekend of shopping. We arrived early and they had a room ready for us. Parking and check in was super easy. The front desk was very helpful. The shuttle was nice. We only used it once because we opted to walk or there was a wait for the shuttle (so we opted to walk). Room was fairly basic- no fridge, but appeared clean. Room had some difficulty staying cool, but manageable. Pool is nice and we enjoyed it before we had to check out. Overall, great... Read more

This was my second time here at this location. The rooms are nice. The people at the front desk are always welcoming. I enjoy the whole staff of this hotel. I was surprised to see the same faces as I did a year ago which tells me they treat their employees well. Simone the Bartender remembered me from my last stay which was awesome and she is very nice with good stories, makes being away from home better.

This is an older hotel so although it was a little dated and bathroom small, the room was clean and had nice linens on the bed. All the staff, from restaurant servers, maids, to desk people, were very friendly and accommodating. Having a shuttle to take you to places within 3 miles was great especially at the end of our stay when the temperatures climbed a little too high to be walking down to Country Club Plaza

Good location near the plaza, but nothing special. Room was basic, did include wifi, microwave and fridge. But, the microwave cord did not reach a nearby outlet and the fridge had a broken leg and wobbled around whenever touched. No breakfast included. Overall, the location is good and price is reasonable, but better can be found.

It's just up the hill from the Plaza 3 blocks, but they have a shuttle that will take you anywhere within 3 miles. we only had to wait 5 min each time we used them. Rooms were typical Holiday Inn - clean & comfortable. They gave us a late check out for no additional cost. Good stay for a reasonable price.

Friendly staff at front desk and bar. We loved having a free shuttle to restaurants so that we didn't have to take our classic car out of the trailer or park & remark our car in their tight parking lot. This hotel is in a fantastic location in the Kansas City museum district. It's about a 6 minute walk to the Country Club shopping district with upscale restaurants and shops. Please note part of the walk back is up a moderately sloped hill. The parking lot is under the hotel and is tight fit, so remember this if you're driving a full sized SUV/truck. Stayed here with a group of friends who were all in town for the GunsN'Roses concert. Average hotel, clean, parking garage available with limited parking. Pool was average. It would be nice to have more tables outside on the patio. There is an adorable duck and baby duck living there and swimming in the pool which bothered no one. It was really cute and I'm glad they were left alone. It was a good place for an overnight stay. I would not want to stay in such a small room longer than 1 night.

Parking garage was a little tight but well lit and had no security issues at all. Room was functional. Id say it is dated compared to the lobby of the hotel but it was not bad. Careful because the shower with the dial at 1/2 turn is hot and at full dial you can boil lobsters. Internet is free and has good speed. The desk is locate... Read more

I just want to say that my trip here was made so much better because of Simone!! I was here alone for work training, and intimidated in this big city, and Simone made my stay much more enjoyable by being so friendly and nice! She is truly a joy to be around, and I am blessed to have met her! Thank you Simone!!

The hotel staff was wonderful. They were helpful, friendly and the shuttle service came in handy. Great location, close to Country Club Plaza and on major bus route. I really enjoyed my stay in Kansas City.

Our daughter was married on 9/30/16 in KC and we had a block of 10 or so rooms for the event. The staff was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and helpful at any request we had. The shuttle service was very convenient and we used it several times.Even to the wedding/reception sight. Tracy our driver was so patient with the crowd that was not so quiet on our trip back to the hotel. Joshua (night desk reception) was very helpful with a late night pizza delivery. If you are going to be in the Plaza/Westport area of KC, check out the Holiday Inn at 1 E. 45th Street. What a great location! And the property is very well kept. The decor is fresh, the setting is in a professional area, and the Plaza is always beautiful. The employees are very friendly and helpful. The room was bright and clean and comfortable for sleeping. Plus, there is a parking garage. I had not been to this location for a long time. I am glad I returned. I highly recommend this Ho... Read more

The hotel restaurant bar and food service quality was nothing less than excellent. Great menu options and above average portions at reasonable prices are a big plus. The bartender Simmone was absolutely amazing. She makes sure everyone is well taken care of. Even if your not staying at the hotel, it's worth the trip over for the dinner and drinks.

We come over from St Louis for all the chiefs games and usually stay in a different hotel but this time it was full. Really not impressed with this hotel. Parking garage was kind of a nightmare, staff at front counter was new, and I could see on the check in paperwork that our room had been changed to a lower level even with platinum status. Even my kids hoped to never stay here again. All that said, no one was rude, room was clean and free shuttle to local area is a plus. Just not what I... Read more

The common areas of the hotel are updated. Our room was very worn and dirty. The grout in the bathroom shower looked like it was painted with white out to cover the dirty grout. The bathroom floor and carpet were very dirty. The desk in the room was very worn. The legs weren't straight anymore and it looked like it was going to collapse. There were pipes banging in the wall during the night. When we returned to the hotel at 11:00 p.m. parking was a serious problem. The buffet breakfast w... Read more

We recently hosted a national reunion of retired federal law enforcement officers at this hotel. The entire staff was great to work with, from sales to food and beverage to catering. We were able to negotiate a very reasonable rate (especially for the Country Club Plaza area) and parking was free. The hotel provides free shuttle service to anywhere in a 3-mile radius, so it is possible to take a shuttle to Union Station and then ride the brand new, and free, streetcar up to the City Market area.... Upholstery on furniture was deeply stained. Room chair looked like someone had urinated on it and also another spot. These stains were not fresh. Desk chair had some kind of stain across the back. Because of the Plaza area I expected a much nicer hotel. Very disappointing.

My wife and i stayed at the holiday inn CC Plaza for 3 days while our oldest daughter was being treated for a Brain Tumor at KU Medical. The hotel was clean and the staff was pleasant, but the overriding impression of the hotel was age. The hotel is reasonably apportioned but the age of the facility is real factor. The room in which we stayed had an overwhelming odor of mildew and showed its age. Old carpeting throughout, old bathroom tilework and tub...and dark narrow hallways left us with the ... Read more

I tend to like more upscale hotels than Holiday Inn but this location in Country Club Plaza was perfectly acceptable as it was one of the cheaper options. It is an old, ugly building but is kept fresh and modern inside. It is located in the upscale Country Club Plaza area and was great for walking to some of the fantastic restaurants in the area (Jack Stack BBQ!!!). The staff I encountered were fantastic and extremely professional and polite. Check-in was a good experience and garaged free par... Read more

Was at this facility for the first time and spent two nights this November and can only say "What great employees " ! From the moment you check in at the counter to walking to your room and being greeted with lovely smiles as you walk thorugh the hotel you totally feel good. The climax is visiting the bar. You haven't experienced a colorful and engaging evening at any other hotel bars until you meet Simone! She is really great and even if you are not seated at the bar but at a table she does ... I chose this hotel for its proximity to two museums I planned to visit: The Nelson-Atkins Museum, and the Kemper Museum. From the hotel, it was an easy walk to both. Along the way you also pass the Kansas City Art Institute. After spending time at both museums, I also walked for about ten minutes to get to the Plaza district, which is full of shops and restaurants. Staff is above and beyond helpful. Great shuttle service taking people to places in the local area. Just up the hill from the Plaza. Parking is secure but very, very tight--underground and locked. Certainly can walk to the Plaza and Westport areas for nightlight. Room was clean and very quiet. Great night's sleep.

Ugh....where to start? Room was fine enough (after being moved from original, extremely musty smelling room). Front desk was lovely. But OMG...bartender was so very annoying...just way too many phony compliments and inappropriate touching...kinda sickening (and this has happened to me before with a different bartender two years ago). Apparently, there is some internal contest whereby the staff member receiving the most positive Tripadvisor votes gets some sort of bonus...and man oh man, did she ... Read more

I've stayed at this property multiple times for work. It's an older property but, has most of the amenities you'd want for convenience. Onsite parking is easy in a gated garage, a restaurant/bar onsite and a small fitness center. There's also a sizable outdoor pool for use in the summer months. The main draws to this property are the reasonable rates and location. Easy walking distance to the Plaza restaurants and shopping or a short Uber ride to Crown Center/downtown KC. Staff is welcoming and ... Read more
