This boutique hotel in downtown Kansas City is a gem. The rooms are great -- we had a corner King room, with plenty of room to relax. the staff is very accommodating, and we used the complimentary car service to get to and from attractions and restaurants and Union Station Amtrak. The restaurant had great choices for breakfast which was an added plus. Would definitely recommend.

The staff here were fantastic! The room was beautiful and the bed so comfy. Perfect location if you're headed to the Power and Light District. Room was on the side closest to the Power and Light District, so we could hear the music all night.

Beautiful hotel! Our room was amazing. We stayed in a corner room. Huge, quiet room. We ordered room service while there and the food was great too. Staff was friendly and excellent help. Can't wait to stay again!

The property is tastefully decorated with an exquisite lobby and modern furniture in rooms. However, as a Marriott Platinum member, I was very disappointed when I asked for an upgrade first and then asked to be moved and I was denied both. I asked to be moved since the noise level from the bar across the street was very loud and any and all street level noise is easily heard within the room. Reception staff interactions were just average. For an autograph collection hotel, I was expecting mu... Read more

I was really ready to enjoy this hotel. I love(d) the Autograph Collection, I'm a Gold Member, and had changed my reservation from the Marriott downtown to this place based upon my prior experiences with the Autograph Collection and the reviews here. I am still here, about to check out. I stayed for 3 days. I got a view of the parking garage from my room, despite requests for a high floor with some kind of view (moving to KC and wanted to see things). Didn't complain. Housekeeping starts knockin... We stayed at this hotel while we were in town for my son's wedding. It is very nice and the staff is nice too. The Reserve bar and restaurant was very cozy with a great wait staff. I would highly recommend the Ambassador.

Spotless room, excellent room service, spacious, elegant rooms! When you walk through the front door of the hotel you wear you're in a different city! So elegant and beautiful. Staff is friendly and attentive, use the bath robes in each room...they're heaven! Easily the best hotel in KC.

Love this hotel - it's a gem in the downtown KC area. Only 7 floors, with spacious, luxurious rooms. It has a restaurant and in room dining as well as a fitness center and business center. The rooms are modern and sleek - my only complaint is that the carpets and furniture are both dark, which makes the room dark at night. I could have used an extra lamp at the desk for working. I love that the hotel is within walking distance of Starbucks, Kaldis Coffee, a grocery store, and more, with the... Read more

Booked here for 3 nights on a business trip. I arrived 3 hours late, during to flight delay. Staff was so nice, got me in my room in record time. Beautiful, big room, very comfy bed. Had appetizers and drinks. During happy hour, in their bar. Servers were really nice, turned tv so I could watch my Red Sox, food was great as we're the drinks. I asked for extra cream, for coffee and got it right away.

We usually take a weekend getaway to KC each summer and generally stay on the plaza. Decided to do something different this year and stay near power and light. This location is ideal - just a two block walk to that area. Hotel itself is very nice as well as the room. Very quiet - I felt like we were the only ones there but I was told they were at capacity. We didn't think the bed was five star. A bit saggy and you rolled to the middle, but otherwise a lovely room. We really appreciated the... Read more

staying there for stop over night with chance to see a bit of the city. The design of the hotel is really simply autograph way, extremely well done. Every empolyee of the hotel was very friendly and helpful - reception very proffesional (as i used to work for autograph, appreciated the sentences "must to be said"); concierge who knows and can talk about soccer - brilliant and bartender - she made nice drinks for everyone as per our wishes, tasty

So as a Marriott Platinum member there are a lot of perks I'm suppose to receive. This hotel does not recognize those. Made a reservation via the Marriott web-site and was all set. Called right after to make sure I could check in early and Theresa told me she couldn't honor my reservation. They were sold out and she didn't know how I was able to make the reservation. I questioned and she said she would talk to a manager and call me "right back". After one hour had passed I phoned her again and w... Read more

Christina greeted us upon our arrival. Her friendly face was a welcome from the start. We had a chance to have drinks in the modern lobby bar area which was very nice. The rooms are large for a "boutique" hotel. The bathrooms were also very roomy. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was very quiet. It was nice being out of the way of the hustle and bustle. My only complaint is the size of the gym. It accommodates 3. The gym at my house is probably the same size. But otherwise, if you don't... Read more

I think I have said it before, but this hotel is awesome. Clean and spacious rooms - amazing professions staff. The team at the hotel should be teaching classes to other hotel chains on how to do it right. If you are very picky like me - this is your go to place.

Though I've visited KC multiple times this is my first time staying at the Ambassador and I don't think it will be my last. The location is fantastic and within walking distance to Power Light activities or ballpark. Here's a few pros and cons in my humble opinion: Pros -Room size -Location -Free shuttle to/from within 5 miles -very courteous and helpful staff -beautiful bar and restaurant area -reasonable valet rates $20/day -secure parking lot next door -huge bathrooms and showers -makeup des... I stayed at the Ambassador for work for several nights in a row and right from the start my experience was top notch. Check in was easy and the chauffeur service picked us up from drop off location where my other colleagues were staying. I had seen pictures of the location but often photography of hotels are skillfully done so as to omit flaws. That is not at all the case with the Ambassador. Right from walking in the door the lobby, restaurant and bar are equally as attractive as the website sh... Read more

If you spend a little extra for this incredible hotel make sure it's during a trip you can truly enjoy the property. We saw a show at P&L and stayed out late. Our only regret is we didn't spend enough time here. From valet to modern bathroom and bed the place is fantastic.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Ambassador Hotel. The bell hope was excellent and very attentive. They offer shuttle service within 5 miles of the hotel. The room was well appointed and the AC was good considering it was 95 degrees outside. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Kansas City.

We stayed here in February, 2016 because we were seeing a concert at the Sprint Center and it was within walking distance. Booked it using points and was pleasantly surprised. Having been raised in KC for most of my life, I had never really heard much about this hotel. Our room was nice with a huge fireplace which we were told was original to the building. The fireplace was for decorative purposes only but added quite a bit to the room. We had drinks and snacks in the bar before the co... Read more

Kansas City doesn't have a five star hotel, but this place comes close. The service was very good, including a house car that drove me around as well as cookies during the work week. The food was also surprisingly good. The only problem was the service at the restaurant, which was a bit lackadaisical. I had one of the two-level suites, which was very nice. My only real negative was that the HVAC system was loud- but that is common in older buildings that have been retrofitted with air. ... Read more

I booked in to the Ambassador for a business trip. It's a nice downtown location for travelers who want to spend some time in the Power & Light District or other places easily accessible from the free streetcar while enjoying some time not working. In addition, the hotel offers a free driving service for locations around the city that are within 5 miles of the hotel, which was immensely handy. My only (mildly) negative comments are that the housekeeping tasks are inconsistently performed (no ... Read more

This is a 5 star hotel in my book. Just a few blocks away from the Sprint Center and the Power and Light District. When we arrived we got lost because of road construction. I called the hotel and the lady that answered guided us to the hotel...she stayed on the phone with us and had the valet driver waiting outside for our arrival. He was also wonderful..his name is either Andrew or Anthony (sorry). Also, Burt was our driver and he was wonderful. We really enjoyed him. The hotel and rooms... Read more

I recently visited Kansas City with my sister. The Ambassador was the perfect place for us for location to our activities. The hotel is older but nice. Our room was large and the bathroom particularly nice. All the staff were great. They even have a free car service to and from any place within 5 miles of the hotel. And free cookies in the afternoon!

The hotel was just what we were looking for, large room, clean and hip vibe. The hotel staff and courtesy drivers were top of their class. We did have an extremely disappointing visit to the in house restaurant. It took an excessive amount of time to get waters and the food not worth the wait. On the other hand we had great food off site with the recommendations of one of the courtesy drivers. Would stay again for sure.
