No complaints except that the door didn't close very well and that there wasn't an hair dryer in my room. Other than that, I had a perfectly acceptable stay. The bed was comfortable, internet reliable and water warm.

Business week, excellent housekeeping, people at the front desk are great, had some issues with the TV but it was resolved in the first try, breakfast is too repetitious, since I'm there for 7 weeks it's always the same, they do change it a little but not by much.

This is a really beautiful hotel. They allowed us to check in several hours early for our 1 night stay. I love the white bed linens and the clean-fresh smell of this hotel. Max, the guest relations manager (I think) was helpful, politely humorous and patient. Of course, the warm chocolate chip cookies are always a treat. However, if less expensive hotels include free breakfast and free parking.....why o why can't hotels like this do the same? Regardless, the breakfast buffet was very nice ... Read more

I was working late and had to be back early the next day. I only was in the room for four hours. The wake-up call I asked for never came. Fortunately I woke up 30 minutes later, scrambled to take a shower and leave. I had no time for breakfast.

The hotel is walking distance to both the Mississippi and the Capitol. The rooms are nice and the staff was very friendly. When I arrived they were clearly understaffed but after watching the front desk staff hustle it was obvious they cared about your impression. That seemed to carry through for the rest of my stay no matter who I saw working in the hotel. I have to think that the management does a nice job keeping everyone happy and motivated

You wonder about the cleanliness of a room when blood is on the shower curtain. I also had an issue getting in and out of the garage with the unlimited parking pass. Front desk.did not answer the phone twice.

The room was spacious and nicely appointed. The staff was just excellent: professional in appearance and super helpful. The downside was the bathroom. Although the counter space was generous, the room was very tiny with a super low ceiling. I'm a short person: in the shower I could put my hand flat on the ceiling. It was a bit claustrophobic.

The Doubletree downtown St Paul is conveniently located, within 5-min walk of many restaurants. That said it is clearly an older hotel that's been redecorated in the last 5 years or so; the low ceilings, small windows, tiny bathrooms, and lack of convenient electrical outlets give away the property's true age. Not the wierd hotel around, but not the best either. I did have a peek-a-boo view of the St Paul Cathedral though...

We stayed here when we went to St. Joseph's Hospital for a family emergency. We let them know at the front desk the reason for our stay, let them know we were a Hilton Rewards member, and they gave us a free upgrade. It was spendy for one night, but it was clean, comfortable and friendly.

Took the bus from MSP to downtown St. Paul. There is a stop on Minnesota Street. The light-rail is there as well although you have to go to Minneapolis and then to the MSP airport. Walked to everything downtown, very refreshing The lobby was a little confusing The room was as expected for a Double Tree, very good.

Aside from the lobby area, the hotel was mor in line with a Choice Hotel, as opposed to DoubleTree. It was clean, and convenient to the XCel Center. Uncomfortable beds, poor water pressure on 17. The staff wasn't overtly disrespectful, but seemed to be a culture that the customers were more an annoyance than the reason for their employment.

The view from the window of our room was absolutely breathtaking and the staff at the front desk was very helpful when I was having a problem with my credit card. There were really only two problems. One was the beds, they were a bit too soft for my liking (so if you like softer beds, you'll love them!) and the other was that even though I paid $144 for a single night, I wasn't given so much as a breakfast. I've stayed at cheaper hotels that at least offered a breakfast in the morning.

I was at a wedding reception in St Paul. This was the host hotel for guests. Although I wasn't there for a full day the extra cost seemed to a little bit excessive. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The entrances and lobby were s bit odd- odd layout, nothing that really said "Doubletree by Hilton! Welcome!" Poor and worn out facility that relies on all other St. Paul property being full - to remain in business. Sits in the no mans land between revived and to be revived sections of the city. Could be nice - but corporate must be milking it as long as possible before selling or investing in the place.

This hotel is in an excellent location for walking to the Xcel Center. They also offer a shuttle service there, but walking is more efficient. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are very clean and quiet with comfortable beds and pillows. The parking garage has extremely narrow parking spaces that you must pay extra for and there is no free breakfast. Didn't matter other people were in there eating what they had to offer of the menu...LOUD. Couldn't hear people 2-3 ft. from you we were trying to visit with (: PIZZA, my 1st was 33% burnt that I couldn't eat; my friend's was also, but tasty for what was there on marguerita. 2nd pizza, butternut squash was delicous; told waitress to tell cook..DON'T BURN THIS ONE; it ... I booked into this hotel for my cousin's wedding. The marriage party had a special rate arrangement for rooms with the hotel. I phoned the hotel and the reservation was made at the special rate. When I read the reviews on Tripadvisor about the hotel, one review said to get a room away from the atrium. I called again the hotel to ask whether I coud get a room away from the Atrium and gave my HHonors Member number. The reception offered me a room on the 14th floor reserved mainly for HHonors membe... Read more

The bathroom was extremely small. The staff did not welcome you. Seemed to busy to really care you were there. No one else was waiting to check in and there were 2 employees behind the desk. Wasn't the friendliest hotel I have been in. As an Honors member was not informed of what floors were considered Honors floors until I seen for myself after checkin in the elevator up to my room.

Stayed here for a professional meeting on a special rate, and conference facilities were excellent. Room had some problems with non-working fridge and clogged sink, but overall good value for the money.

PROS: All the above as said and in addition: FREE warm chocolate cookies; ask for more; you will get them!! good, tasty food at the LYME DISEASE conference held last weekend. CON: waiters taking our dishes and drinks RUSHING us before we finish; we couldn't leave for 1 minute and they would be gone even full places of food! Staff there to run projector/slides, etc. Had some problems, but woman came promptly to fix problems as they occurred. CON: large room, but classroom style didn't leave ... Read more

This hotel is pretty average for the area, nothing special. Staff was friendly at check in but not very helpful anytime we had questions. High price for the rooms especially since you have to pay for parking and breakfast separate. Nothing is included.

The hotel has parking directly below the building so you can get in without exposing yourself to the harsh MN winter. The warm cookie on checkin is a nice touch. Sadly, they guard the cookie drawer 24 hours (I asked). The sports bar attached to the hotel is actually active in the evening, which is a nice surprise for downtown St. Paul. Nice pool, nice staff. The only thing I could ask for is A) more nightlife in St Paul and, B) that the hotel be a little bit closer to Candyland, the classic s... Read more

Nicely decorated. Fine if you are constantly at conventions or in meetings, but not really geared towards leisure travel because that's when you notice things like not many common areas to hang out and read, not much character to building, weight room is pretty basic, no free breakfast. The tourism and restaurants are more to the south and the west. Except for bathrooms, lighting is very dim everywhere. Internet connectivity was unreliable at night but was fine the next morning.

This hotel was very clean and the rooms were spacious!! I had a great view and the staff was very friendly! My waiter at breakfast was incredibly friendly and accommodating! The front desk attendants were helpful and friendly as well. I would definitely stay here again!

Room was too warm the entire stay. It would not changed despite changing the thermostat. Also the mattress seemed old and warped. Not comfortable. I would recommend spending an extra $20 to stay at the nearby Intercontinental or St Paul Hotel. Worth it.

This place was totally over priced for the service it gave, you have to pay for parking, at an inflated rate, and the taxes that the City charges is out of this world, let along not easy to figure out where exactly you are suppose to park! I would suggest staying else where when available

Went there for a conference. Staff are very nice and helpful. However the common areas are oldish. The rooms are nice and clean and have been renovated. The bathroom was oldish though. I do not know for the restaurant since I ate food from the conference. We went to the bar and the selection of beers and cocktails was OK.

The doubletree hotel is centrally located in downtown Saint Paul and is within easy walking distance to local businesses and several solid restaurants in the area. Rooms and service are decidedly average middle of the road, however the management team is actively working to improve guest experience. The hotel restaurant and bar has friendly servers and is an easy (but again, just average) option for dinner or lunch.

The hotel is clean and well maintained by the high point is the staff. We were greeted upon arrival, checked in and all our special requests were met. We asked the front desk for directions, food/bar recommendations etc, and they were spot on. Had a great time thanks to the staff here.

Clean hotel. Nice service. No hiccups related to stay at this hotel. Expect to Uber or gt a taxi to most places. Little food and drink options near hotel but Rival House restaurant was good. I would stay here again.

The price of stay was 30% higher than quoted due to hidden costs and surcharges that were not included in the original estimate. Nothing was included- parking, breakfast, etc. No discount for these items for hotel guests. On three separate occasions someone attempted to enter the room with a key. Luckily I had the interior lock in place so they couldn't get in, but it was extremely alarming.

great place, nice rooms, for business trip internet was weak, but that's the only knock, 10s all across the board! I'd love to see a "business" room similar to "business class" airfare, that would come with the fastest speeds possible with an up charge to include that speed. Easier to expense room with it included then the additional fee for it

I travel to St. Paul a few times a year for business and haven't stayed at the Double Tree in awhile. I was very pleasantly surprised at the improvements. Very comfortable room (and bed!), clean, helpful accommodating staff I didn't have the chance to try the restaurant but room service, even with a limited menu, was decent. Nice,,convenient place to stay.

Would give 3.5 stars if that was an option. No safe in the room, and gym ellipticals were squeaky and built in TVs sets had fuzzy pictures earn the 3. Otherwise the room was clean, quiet, and big, with a 5ish foot divider wall between the bed and sitting area. Felt more like an extra big room rather than a suite. If you have kids it would provide some privacy and might allow them to sleep while you watch tv. I did not eat there nor check out the bar.

Digital key on my phone was handy to eliminate checkin. Restaurant and bar were good, with great beer selection. My bathroom on the 17th floor was really small (uncomfortable). Other than that it was a great stay.

Would probably not recommend this particular hotel to others. It had a good location which was close to light rail and events. Parking was an issue but I understood the circumstances of being right downtown St. paul

I enjoyed the accommodations for a quick one night business trip. Check in was fast, cookies are a nice touch. The room was nice. Good sized. Bed comfortable. The restaurant lounge was a great way to end the evening, food was ok and drinks were better.
