Nice hotel, and right next to the Uof Minnesota athletic campus and the train station. It was a nice walk to the campus and not far of a walk to the Mississippi River. The train station being next to the hotel made it very easy to get to Target Field. My only negative was the lack of a pool.

I would never stay here again. This was a supposed non-smoking room. The room smelled of smoke, the carpet had multiple burn holes, as well as the comforter and sheets. TV was hit or miss when you turned it on and the noise from outside woke me up multiple times during the night. Wish the app was working right to upload the pictures I took to show it.

The woman working the front desk was the only good experience we had. We were supposed to have a smoking room.....didn't...so she moved us close to an outside door. The room and hallways stunk like an industrial cleaner was pumped into the building. Comforter looked like it was from the 70's. One bed....we could not determine if it was a water bed or not. TERRIBLE. Pillows.....one full and two half like they were cut in half. Pillow cases were white and yellow. Not the color yellow either. Free ... Read more

We were going to stay here while my husband had testing done at the U of MN. He has lung issues and I have environmental sensitivities. I started having problems while checking in. It smelled so strong of chlorine in the office area. I was concerned that our room would smell like chlorine. She put us across the parking lot in a room on the other side. We walked in the room and immediately we noticed the smell. My husband thought it was mold. I thought it was essential oils trying to cover up the... Read more

The room was clean and presentable. Unfortunately, there were too many disappointments that made my stay frustrating. The room had a door to the pool area that was not well sealed, and the noise and activity made it impossible to sleep before 10:30 pm. The door exiting to the pool had a card reader that didn't work. The door exiting to the hallway was missing a chain latch. A guest directly above my room came in at 2:30 am each night making quite a ruckus, and the thin walls made it very ea... Read more

Hotel personnel were very nice. The food at the adjoined bar/restaurant was good. However, I did not realize there was no continental breakfast included with the room price, my fault, I just assumed it was. In the morning, I discovered the shower was a mere trickle. I mentioned it and showed a picture to the person at the front desk, she immediately credited my account $15.00.

Our room was supposed to be a non-smoking room but upon entry you could tell that people had smoked in it before because of the odor. The outside doors were not marked as non-smoking like the others only a card inside said non-smoking. Another clue were the burn marks on the toilet seat. The amount of noise that came through from under the doors was not good. We were near the pool and they had the exterior door propped open and people were in there way past 10:00pm making noise. We stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago and then again last week. My son is special needs and we sometimes have to go to the children's hospital. In the past the hotel was dirty. We also had seen dead bugs and mice in the grate by the pool. Still, I was a good bit disheartened that when I drove in to the parking lot, there were three dudes milling around the parking lot who looked like they were right off the set of "Breaking Bad." The check in staff were fabulous and friendly. However, the room itself needed some repairs. The desk chair was an office chair that was broken and would not lift high enough to the desk. There were so many things plugged into the outlet by the desk that I could not run my laptop on plug in. The curtains would not close all the way without a great deal of tugging. The bathroom sink was slow to drain, and the faucet itself was loose. The bar and dining was nice. Good food at a quality price.

There was this faint smoke smell - I wish I was more careful and booked a non-smoking room. The bathroom fittings were old and had to fiddle a bit with the shower valve. The worst part was somehow a rat appeared in my room from a hole behind the electric heater. They put me later in a non-smoking room, which was way better. It was very clean and good. I felt like I was in a crack den, the clientele was sketchy, as I walked to my room the place wreaked like cigarette smoke and I was supposedly on a Non smoking floor. Bottom line, all the hotels were sold out in Minneapolis or over $1000/nt and I wasn't going to pay that kind of money to stay in a hotel. Generally below average for most hotels I have stayed at in the area. While my room was generally clean, and staff was helpful, I felt the amenities at the hotel were lacking. The continental breakfast was a huge disappointment, and a friend was overcharged for his room by nearly $100. While my experience generally wasn't a negative one, I felt that the price should have been indicative of a much nicer hotel.
