Everyone at this Embassy Suites works hard to make one's stay comfortable. I've stayed here approximately ten times. Front desk staff is friendly and fast. The bartender at the Manager's reception is wonderful! Food in the morning is good. However, they stopped having food in chafing dishes--eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes. This really backed up the line. I urge they return the chafing dishes as breakfast was far, far too long a wait. Nearly every EB I visit has options besides the line. Also, th... Read more

I stayed in room 816 for a business trip for 2 nights. This is great for Regions Hospital - we walked to the hospital each morning. It was fine for a business trip, but the bathroom was the tiniest and most poorly designed I have been in - would be uncomfortable even for 2 people. I would also recommend staying on the opposite side of the hotel as this side faced the freeway and was slightly loud. Breakfast was typical for E.S. and very good. Staff was very polite and helpful. In downtown St. Paul there are not a lot of hotel choices. This hotel has it's positives and negatives. On the positive side, the chef at breakfast is excellent. I enjoyed the breakfast every morning. The Irish restaurant is also fantastic. Great food and service. The negatives are the complimentary shuttle was monopolized by a local company and no one else was able to use the shuttle during the peak morning hours from 7 - 9 am or in the afternoon between 4:30 - 6:00. This is a convenient hotel for us to visit our daughter. The rooms are a good size and the breakfast that's included is quite good. The atrium gives the property a nice open feeling. We didn't use the pool as it was crowded with families with children. The gym was fine for this level of hotel.

The hotel was nice and lobby staff was nice. The room was not cleaned very well. There was dust in the corners that was obviously old and the rug was not vacuumed. Kind of a shame because it is a nice hotel. The food and happy hour we nice and staff was pleasant.

as others have mentioned, the heating and cooling plant issues exist. As a result, check in was VERY slow and the check in via Hilton Honors app was not honored. However, a cool comfortable, nicely appointed room was eventually provided. The pupose of the visit was to take my mom to a family event nearby. She was pleased with the room and breakfast. This is clearly a "kid's birthday party" hotel and you do have to watch out for wet floors and scampering damp children.

The physical plant was generally nice. The typical nice Embassy suite set up, two rooms with a nice "living room" and nice bedroom. The bathroom had some light surface mold and the paint over the shower was peeling. Nothing major. The pool area was clean and the pool was fine. The unusual lobby has a waterfall with some live ducks in the water. I was bit put off by the check in which included a list of rules. The beds were really comfortable. The hotel had a nice luxury feel to it. The lobby fountain even had some live ducks! The restaurant was OK to eat at. The cheesecake there was good. The staff in general were really nice. Snacks are expensive. Parking is $15/night. The shuttle service was always booked up so we could never use it unfortunately. The breakfast was fantastic. The gentleman making the omelettes was amazing and very nice. He deserves a raise! I can't wait to stay again!

Unfortunately I stayed at this hotel with my husband thinking this would be a great place to start our relaxing and peaceful vacation in Minnesota. Instead there were so many families with their children everywhere in the hotel. I've never seen so many kids running around in the atrium, at the pool, in the lobby area. Breakfast was filled with tables and tables of kids and parents and the noise and chaos was so unreasonable we checked out the next day and went to another hotel.

The staff went above and beyond to provide us with a comfortable stay. Darryl brought a fan for us to use when one of us was overheating (the AC was just fine). The shuttle driver Zac brought us to the Saints game and the manager Ryan picked us up when we are done. Every employee was super friendly and helpful. Large hotel for gatherings, ample breakfast, friendly staff but unclean. Lobby and main areas were not air conditioned. Even though this hotel was remodeled in 2012, it shows signs of wear, lack of maintenance and rooms were dirty (cob webs over bed, mold in shower and bathroom, dirty carpets, ceilings black near return vents, etc.) Would not return.

Please note that I have tried to call the manager, but my call was never returned as promised. I usually give a chance to make the issue right, but I have waited about a month now, and nothing has been corrected or acknowledged. I stayed here for one night on a weekend getaway with my mother and sister in-law using points. Upon arrival, the check-in process was a mess even though I checked in online. My keys weren't ready, and I didn't receive my welcome bag. The lobby was dirty, and the hotel... Read more

The hotel is cheaply done and poorly managed. The safe was locked so we couldn't use it. The shower head is only 6 feet high. The toilet ran non-stop. The bedding in the pull out couch was not changed, I had to tip the maid the 2nd day to get a change of bedding (amazing what $7 tip will get you.....clean sheets - wow!). At breakfast there were no plates - we had to eat off napkins and dessert plates. I asked a worker for plates and he said to go ask the guy making omelates for a plate. I... Read more

Arrived to our very dark room. Had to use light from a cell phone to find the lamps that had been turned off. The door between the bedroom and sitting room wouldn't shut. Reported to management, wasn't addressed during our 2 night stay. Tub drain was clogged so stood in standing water during showers. No parking spots available in parking lot so had to pay to park elsewhere and hotel still wanted to charge us the parking fee.

I arrived at this property to find a scheduled maintenance which required the water to be turned off. I was not notified of this in advance so I ended up going to a reception without a shower. The bathroom cabinet was broken. Not only was it unsightly it was dangerous as sharp edges and nails were exposed. Despite being told I would be e-mailed a receipt, a week later I still don't have one. I called and was disconnected twice.

We stayed here three nights over Labor Day weekend, and overall I'd say our experience was pretty good. Our suite was clean upon arrival and was cleaned every day, though not until 5-6 pm, probably because the place was packed with people. The buffet breakfast was excellent but sometimes overcrowded. The hotel is located at the west edge of downtown St. Paul, six blocks west of Union Station and four blocks south of a light-rail Green Line stop. Staff were friendly though sometimes rushed. This was a great hotel for a business trip, having an actual living room is a great way to make it feel more like home. The breakfast and evening drinks/snacks were a great touch. I was very impressed with the lobby, though it was kind of weird that they kept ducks in the indoor fountain/pond. I came during the fall and it was still not too cold, but the windows still let a lot of heat out and I imagine it would be a very cold place in a St. Paul winter.
