Have stayed here many times over the past few years and it is my favourite hotel in the Minneapolis area. Staff are always helpful, food is good, rooms are well appointed with lots or parking available. Recent refurbishment has improved it further

My husband and I arrived late the first night and got a discount on our room. The next night Adam was at the front desk and he was extremely nice and helpful. Our room was clean, bed very comfortable, and I loved the bathroom! I would definitely stay again.

While not a "luxury" property, this hotel is nicely appointed and offers attentive service. Starbucks in the bar/restaurant area, but having some coffee available in the lobby would be a nice addition. Comfortable bed and updated bathroom. Nice stay for business trips.

I had previously stated here in 2015 prior to the most recent renovation. I'm sad to say that in my opinion, the rooms are worse than they were previously. Most of my dissatisfaction centers around the bath area. Tubs have been removed, leaving only showers. Towel racks/storage have been removed, leaving only small hooks, and heaven forbid if you forget to grab a towel and the bath mat from under the sink outside the bathroom before you get wet. There is one small round hanger near the sink f... Read more

Unfortunately, my experience at the Easter Brunch at the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest this year (2016) was disappointing. The food selection, while large and varied, was no match for the 2015 Easter Brunch. In addition, the service and attention to kids was lacking compared to 2015. I was approached several times for payment but had a hard time flagging down a member of the wait staff for coffee. The Eggs Bennedict tray was empty and, despite repeated requests from wait staff at other serv... Read more

Good hotel. Fairly new and quite. With a good bar and decent restaurant. Breakfast is however a rip off. 20$ if you add a 15% tip (there is poor service though). Selection is poor (scrambled eggs. Bacon. plain bagel and butter no standard cream cheese. Fruit salad. Orange juice water and coffee is service if you can get hold of the waiter). One interesting item however (if you are my cardiologist please don't read) is the bacon crumble donut... welcome to midwest.

What a pleasant surprise from Marriot! This hotel had a complete renovation fairly recently and the results are incredible. Complete new room from top to bottom. New bathrooms. Showers, sinks are completely new and cool. There was a nice work station in the room. The hotel is now very chic and modern. Late dinner on our arrival night was very good and fairly priced. Bartender was fantastic. The music in the lobby and restaurant-bar does get a bit loud after 10pm. The breakfast buffet was very go... Read more

Very nice hotel on the edge of Minneapolis. Very friendly staff with international backgrounds. Updated interiors and the MOST comfortable bed ever (even for Marriott high standards). Only downside is that the showers had no hot water in the morning. Things happen.

The hotel hosted a friends wedding which included rooms for Friday and Saturday, the wedding venue, reception venue and all accommodations that go with a wedding. Staff were friendly and accommodations were good for a large wedding (350-400 guests). Group rooms were provided so rooms could be combined for each side of the wedding party. There was ample room to complete hair, makeup and getting dressed. Beds were comfortable. The hotel provided food which included sandwiches/chips/pop for lunch... Read more

The hotel is the standard Marriott. I highly recommend (not in winter), getting a drink and sitting by the lake. If you are there on business and are pumping and storing. Know the fridge they provide does not freeze, no matter what you do to it. The hotel says they will take a freeze, but I don't trust that, and they don't have a freezer you can have in your room. You can get a microwave if you call, but mine smelled funny and blew the circuit in the room every about 40 seconds. It was eas... Read more

The staff has consistantly provided exceptional service to me for many years. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The highlight of my stay is usually a relaxing beer on the patio overlooking the pond. Easy commute to the airport and downtown. I highly recommend the property for any travel to minneapolis.

I agree with other reviewers - the staff delivers exceptional service here. Jessica helped us get a great room, Vivian and Ruthlene were Marriott-trained interns that were friendly, helpful, and professional. And Myrna in the M Lounge was an excellent host. Thanks to all! This hotel is an outstanding choice for runners/walkers because there must be 10-15 miles of trails in the complex and you never have to cross a street! One issue we had - in the "M-Lounge" they require elite guests to swip... Read more

This concierge club has a wine cabinet machine that you put your room key in and it auto serves. No liquor and no beer. You do not drink wine then good luck. It was EMPTY and it is huge. Food is terrible in the club. Restaurant is ok at best. Find another hotel if you are a gold or platinum member. You will be very disappointed.

Our family came down to the twin city area at the start of June for a family / birthday trip. We used Expedia to book our hotel. Finding the hotel was quite simple, but we were surprised at the nearly empty parking lot. I'm not sure why, but there was almost no one using the hotel the first weekend of July. The hotel itself is central to many popular attractions (Valleyfair, Mall of America, Eagan Outlets). Room service was fantastic, the pool quiet, and the fitness room was beautiful. Obv... Read more

This is the worst Marriot I have ever stayed in. No bar ambience. Also, TVs didn't work in bar due to non-payment of cable bill. I would never stay here again as the hotel seemed very depressed. Not sure what is going on here.

My family and I stayed here for 2 nights on the return of our cross country road trip. The hotel was beautiful, with a very nice pond and outdoor area. My 5 year old thoroughly enjoyed the pool after our long day at the Mall of America (which was only a 15 minute drive from the hotel). The staff was so friendly and helpful and having a Starbucks in the lobby was an added plus! I would most definitely stay here again if I am ever back in Minnesota!

Vivian and Laurie showed us kindness in every way with our stay and made our stay a great memory. We were greeted warmly, given a room upgrade, and help with luggage. The beds are very comfortable. The only disappointment was an out-of-order whirlpool which would have been nice for my husband's back (lots of work going on at home). I was in Minnesota in May and stayed at this lovely hotel. Check in was a breeze: not only did they upgrade my room, they also gave me the premium internet free of charge as they knew I was there for work. The room is very modern, clean and comfortable. Housekeeping did a great job all 4 days. The restaurants onsite were very good. Spent 3 nights on a business trip. The room was updated, clean and very quiet. The hotel is adjacent to several UnitedHealth Group buildings and is set on a pond and walking trail. There is a large bar/conversation area on entry with outdoor seating available. The airport is about 20 minutes away via a $40 cab ride. Plenty of free parking is available.

Staff was very friendly upon arrival. Room was clean and everything worked great. The best part of the hotel was the M-Club. The sliding glass doors, personal waiter, and free snacks throughout the whole day was amazing. Not to mention the food was great there. The only downside is that it took us about 40 minutes to drive from Minneapolis to this hotel during rush hour traffic, which kind of sucked. But besides that, amazing hotel. Probably one of the best Marriott's I've ever stayed at.

I recently stayed at this hotel on business and as always it was a wonderful stay! Myrna was excellent in the Concierge Lounge. I love that you can directly sign onto Netflix through your TV. Followed a tree lined drive, to the spacious lot...And within matter of minutes, was settled in a spacious room, with a terrific view of Minneapolis's golden west. This hotel was designed to accommodate a demanding business traveler -- still does, but now embraces the casual millennial, the romantic weekend couple, or even an entire wedding party. Checked in on a muggy afternoon, and really did not leave the hotel until Sunday -- just too cool and comfortable. The pool is inviting, as in the sa... Read more

This review is only for the gym and pool, because although I had reserved a room at the hotel in order to use the gym and shower, they refused to accept payment for the room and let me use the gym and pool instead (there is a locker room and shower). The gym is great; perhaps a bit warm as hotel gyms tend to be, but it has all of the amenities and is not too stuffy. The locker room is great and the showers are clean. My fiancé and I stayed here for one night in anew executive suite. The hotel and staff were great! The room was very clean and stocked with plenty of towels & bath supplies. The food for dinner and breakfast was amazing! The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because we were not aware that the breakfast wasn't free until after we had finished half our plate; buffet style breakfast.

As a platinum Marriott rewards member, I was warmly greeted by the front desk and was treated well by the front desk the entire time. I do think there are a few areas of opportunity for this property. 1. I asked for late check-out and was given a 1pm check-out. I stayed on a Friday night when occupancy was low and shocked that I wasn't accommodated for a later check out especially since most marriotts will now do 4pm check out for platinums. 2. I stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago and it was very nice. Since then it has been renovated and is beautiful. The rooms now have stand up showers which is awesome!! The bathroom lighting is much improved. As is typical with a full service Marriott - the bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows. The wireless service was quite good and reliable. It was such a bad experience that I had to write a review, letting the others know about it. Starting with the front desk, those middle Eastern fellows who definitely lack experience in hospitality (I suppose that it is a proof of management being greedy). In the summer has great outside dining by a little pond and in cooler weather has a great fireplace to sit by. Food has always been good - and service has been outstanding. Last time was served by Bennet and he did a fantastic job. I suggest giving it a try. I think you will be surprised.
