I stayed at the Westin while in town on business. I was very impressed with the historic aspect of the building & that it used to be a bank. The staff were very friendly & accommodating. The restaurant is delicious for both breakfast & dinner. The only thing I didn't like about the room was the closet where the ironing board was did not have a lot of room between the bed & the door. Otherwise it was a great stay.

Stayed here on a recent business trip. The location is very convenient if you need to be downtown, but the hotel can be pricey compared to other options in the area. The setting is very well done, in the old bank building. The rooms are reliable Westin style - spacious, well maintained, if a little uninspiring. But good for business, for sure.

We spent one night here because of the room in a suite for 5 of us (three kids under 11). Parents had a king bed (and it was heavenly) in the bedroom and two kids shared the pullout sofa while the third slept on a rollaway bed. There was plenty of room for all of us. The bathroom had a deliciously deep tub meant for soaking and a rainfall shower. Both very nice and relaxing. The kids really enjoyed the stainless steel pool and the hot tub. Location is great -- within walking distance o... Read more

I had a nice corner room on a high floor overlooking downtown Minneapolis. King bed was really comfortable, view was great. Everything functioned properly and the place was very clean. Good health club with plenty of machinery. All staff I interacted were courteous, friendly and professional. Great bar/restaurant/lobby downstairs - super high ceiling as it used to be a bank. Overall the usual excellent experience I expect from Westin/Starwood.

First, the good part about this hotel was its convenient location by the Light Rail station, which was clean and easy to use. Other than that, I had a problem with the perfume-y scent pumped through their air circulation system to give the place a distinctive "good" smell. While the scent itself wasn't bad, it was so intense that it irritated my nose and lungs. The smell also hung on me after I left the hotel. Admittedly I am sensitive to things like that, but anyone with athsma or allergies cou... Read more

This hotel is centrally located and has a really neat lobby. It used to be a bank branch so they've kept a lot of the historic parts intact. The room is a standard Westin, but would recommend as a solid choice in Minneapolis.

One of our favorite hotels is the Westin Minneapolis. The rooms are nice and the prices are competetive . Banks restaurant is one of the best downtown. Rachael is the office manager and is very polite, professional and accommodating.

Great location, great staff, quieter than expected place. Our room was fine, two beds, clean and nice bathroom. Rachel at the front desk was the best, she was over the top kind and helpful, and did more than I expected. She even wrote a hand note to me. The location is walking distance to the Target field, and the downtown action, plus we used uber and lyft to get around to other sites. It is one block from lite rail, so its only 1.75 from airport on lite rail. Its not super fancy room, but goo... Read more

My son and I attended a meeting at The Westin. We rushed getting there because we were running late and I parked in the lot across the street and discovered...I'd forgotten my wallet at home. After our meeting finished we asked Justin if he could validate parking, when we explained the whole story, he personally lent us the money to pay parking. Thank you, Justin. My absent mindedness could have been a HUGE issue. You saved the day. I was honored to be able to pay Justin back and will pay it f... Read more

I would assume this is mainly a hotel that business travelers would stay at so it was fairly quiet when we stayed here, which was nice compared to some of the other hotels in the area. Check in was quick and the staff were friendly. We reserved an upgraded grand room; however, it did not appear to be that grand and only had one small window so was more like a standard room. But we did enjoy the bed and the room was spacious so it was nothing to ruin our stay. The part we loved most about the hot... Read more

Great central location downtown. Easy walk to multiple restaurants, event sites. Rooms are OK - clean but nothing special. The restaurant and bar, and the overall hotel common areas are beautiful, though. Also a nice spa on site. Overall, good value for the money. Rooms could be a bit nicer for the price.. Huge bathroom but doesn't make good use of space, as an example.

I have stayed at many Westin's before and the Minneapolis location did not disappoint. The lobby and bar are beautiful, the staff as always very helpful and courteous. The room was nice but a bit smaller than I am used to with the Westin. The bathroom was beautifully decorated (really loved the look) but small. Overall would stay again and would recommend to anyone.

We just returned from a two-stay in the Westin Minneapolis and are totally mystified at the glowing reviews on this site. We arrived at the apparent front door of the Westin at about 4:15 PM on Monday. The valet was inattentive, but since it was a very busy time of day in downtown Mpls we understood. After we were serviced by the valet attendant we entered the door - sans doorman - with our bags in tow - and discovered a very beautiful art deco lobby. Walking toward the registration desk o... We have made the 4th weekend an annual at The Westin. We are SPG members and stay at their properties whenever possible. We absolutely love how dog friendly SPG is and spread the word to our 5000+ Facebook network via the large dog rescue we are active in. In addition, I am recovering from 2 major low back surgeries. Justin at the front desk helped us throughout our stay to make sure we were very comfortable and happy. He is amazing at his job!! I only wish his level of excellent customer servic... Read more

Stayed at this property in June 2016. The Art Deco lobby is tastefully done in a bank motif. The rooms are small, especially for families. Also, due to the nature of the building, it's extremely difficult to see out the windows. Most are above an average person's height. The $41/day for valet parking is ridiculous. Overall, a good stay for business travellers, but not families.

We had an amazing experience at the Westin MN thanks to the kind attentions of manager Justin and bartender Matthew. Obvious hospitality pros, this duo generously entertained us for our first hour in the city, with drinks, recommendations, and tales of the fascinating history of the building. Definitely stop in for at least a drink and enjoy the design of the lobby, which, housed in the former Farmers and Mechanics' Bank, sports a mixture of original deco and cleverly updated design features, in... The only reason I rated this hotel 2 stars and not 1 is because of the amazingly comfortable bed. Let me explain. Upon arrival--3:03pm--after traveling from Chicago with our teenager and dog, the front desk informed us that our suite wasn't ready and it was going to be awhile and she'd call when it was. Really? The flippant attitude irritated me. My husband confirmed check-in time and again, with the whatever attitude, she said she could downgrade us to a double bed room. What the what? I ha... Read more

Don't get me wrong, the Westin is a luxury hotel. The art deco building is stunning but way too cold to enjoy unfortunately ... not really environment friendly to have so much AC on. And for $350 per night, I would have expected a nicer gym and pool - the gym is vast and well equipped, but it's all grey with no windows, so it's quite depressing. Same for the pool, it's a nice lap pool, but it would really benefit from nicer painting or even some wood decor. And finally for the price, I would ha... Read more

The showers in this hotel remind me of some European hotels; modern, clean and fixtures to accommodate. The international staff was polite, and efficient (Sasha at the front desk, Marco with room service). The room service was fast, and quick to correct minor mistakes. The lobby is a little strangely set up, registration is at two small desks behind a very large bar/restaurant area. (The bar/restaurant is attractive, and service in both was excellent.) The first room we got had a leak from the vent opening above the bathroom sink, which after I noticed it, I realized was obviously not new since the sink was stained from the dripping water. Stayed at this hotel while visiting friends and family over the weekend. The interior is quite cool since it used to be an old bank and so it has a formal feel to the lobby, and the wine cellar is the old vault. The rooms are good sized, we had a double room with two queen beds, and the bathrooms are clean. The pool is a little small, and when we were there in the morning, it felt like a sauna inside. We stayed at this hotel for a long weekend and overall we weren't that impressed. The noise insolation to the hallways was nonexistent, and you could also hear a bit of what was going on next door. The "view" from the room was an office building 8 feet away. And the bathroom door couldn't close fully. The room service also happened very late afternoon / evening every day, and it seemed like it only happened on our second day after we called them. But the room was fine and the location ok.

We were very happy with our stay. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. It is a great location downtown. The only drawback is parking. While you have to pay to park at most downtown hotels the Westin is not associated with any lots so it's about $40 to park for one night and the ramp is not connected to the hotel. Just something to be aware of before arriving.
