My room was attractive and clean and, although dark, well lit. There was no noise from outside of the building or the hallway. The one window looked directly into the rooms of an adjacent office building which was just a few feet away. The air conditioning was the type that roared no matter how low the fan was set. Fortunately, it was cold while I was there, and I made do without any air conditioning or heat. For an expensive, high end hotel, I consider this type of air conditioning complet... Read more

Stayed here for a quick weekend trip to see a baseball game. My only regret is only staying for one night. The staff were fantastic and above accommodating. The hotel ambiance is an ecclectic chic. The food is outstanding and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The best part was enjoying a glass of wine while watching television in the bath! That's right, a television in the tub! The baseball stadium is a 5 minute walk away. You are also steps from the famed Avenue theatre and the Miss... Read more

We stayed for our Anniversary and we were blown away by the great location and service. We were upgraded and had a lovely welcome gift in our room for celebrating our anniversary. The staff was so helpful! The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. I was slightly disappointed with the gym equipment, but it was better than the usual small hotel gym, I had just expected a little better because of it being such a large place. The Six15 hotel restaurant was very nice, but the R... Read more

We stayed at the Grand for three nights, checking in on Friday, May 13, and leaving the following Monday. We usually stay at smaller places than this, but we were in town for a nephew's bar mitzvah, and The Grand was able to all of our family, cousins coming from all over the country. The staff that we encountered, from the front desk to the maid service, was hands down the most helpful, most courteous, and friendliest I have ever encountered at any hotel of any size anywhere I have ever stayed... My opinion is perhaps colored by the fact I prefer to stay at Fairmont or Four Seasons, and there aren't any high-end hotels in Minneapolis, but I was still disappointed by The Grand Hotel. I chose this hotel because it received #1 ratings on Trip Advisor, and it seemed a good location (I was raised in Minneapolis, so I know the downtown area), and it beats being out at the airport hotels listening to planes take off, but it seems I substituted the planes for the police sirens going off at least... This is the third Kimpton hotel we have had the pleasure to stay at. We came into town for a Twins game. The Grand is located downtown, and we were able to walk to just about everything we wanted to do. For everything else, the light rail was quick and efficient. The hotel is beautiful, if a bit dark. One is reminded of the surrealism of casinos where there is no natural light to indicate the time of day. The staff is impeccably professional and courteous. We were offered an upgrade and allowed... This is my preferred hotel in Minneapolis. The overall hotel is just beautiful and the gym is probably the best one I have used at a hotel. The rooms are always immaculate and the linens are super comfortable. Noise is never an issue. The front desk staff is always friendly and helpful. As a Kimpton Karma member the wifi is free and there is a 10 raid the bar credit that can be used at the restaurant or on minibar items.

The Grand Hotel is centrally located and a terrific place to stay. The rooms our huge and very well appointed. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms had tubs and showers with marble accents-again, very large and spacious. There is a huge gym/club with fitness equipment, racquetball courts, a full basketball court, and lap pool. You will love this area if you are a fitness buff. We stayed at the Grand Hotel on a family trip and it was fantastic. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the rooms were superb. We drove ten hours from North Dakota for our stay here and it was so worth it. I have never stayed in a big city like Minneapolis before and I must say it was a great experience. The Grand Hotel was hands down the best hotel my wife and I have ever stayed at. You spend more money in the city but enjoyed the area's food and sites. So many things to do. We love the Grand & other Kimpton Hotels. Staff & service is always excellent. Rooms are comfortable. Decor is lovely. We stayed 5 nights in The Grand. The young man who greeted us on arrival, parked our car & brought our luggage to our room, remembered our name on day 4 without any other contact in between. I was quite impressed. They make you feel very welcome. And the free wine hour is a very nice touch.

Arrived early and was greeted promptly at the front desk. They provided recommendations in the area for restaurants and popular places to visit. The Grand Hotel Minneapolis is in the center of downtown, which is both a plus and a minus. On the plus side, many good restaurants are within a mile walk. On the down side, the streets are all torn up and using a car is a hassle. The guest rooms are large and well appointed. The common areas are dark and reminiscent of the athletic club that occupies the first five floors above the lobby. Since this is a Kimpton hotel, you will be joined by canine guests for happy hour.

The entire experience was first class. Starting with the greeting a at the entrance of the Hotel to the departure from the Hotel the next day. The meal prepared by Chef Chris and his crew was outstanding. It was fresh flavorful and unique in the mixture of flavors and spices. At check in and checkout the front desk staff was friendly in a very sincere way.

Check in and check out no one at the front door to help us. Then the valet service was terrible. Had to wait approximately 20 minutes both on checking in and check out. And both times there was no help with our luggage at all. Not even an offer of help. Otherwise our stay was fantastic!

The staff is friendly, the rooms are funky but I am not such a fan of the restaurant. It's just ok and good enough if you really don't want to leave the hotel. I feel like I have stayed in just about every room at this point. I have to say that 1501 is my favorite because its has this amazing in the sky view of the city with corner windows.

Recently stayed here for business. Found the hotel to be one of the better options in Minneapolis. Pros: beds are comfortable, plenty of hot water in the morning, very clean, good location, nice showers and tubs, good amenities, friendly staff, easy checkin and checkout Cons: rooms are very dark, breakfast card left on doorknob for delivery was never picked up so I went without breakfast (I left the card out at 8pm the prior evening), WiFi was very week and not conducive for business

A friend of mine and I traveled here to celebrate my birthday and to do some shopping at Mall of America. It was a very convenient down-town location very close to a lot of restaurants. Even though it was the dead of winter, we did walk down to 1st Avenue & 7th Street--the club where Prince filmed Purple Rain, as well as around the downtown area for dinner one night. This was a comfortable hotel with a few quirks. My room was near an elevator, which made it less than quiet. There was a constant hum. The food was average. There was nothing in the room regarding the amenities in the hotel. I was told to look online for all of the information after turning down an offer to hear about everything at once in a phone call to the front desk. Great location, amazing fitness center. Great gym, tastefully decorated, nice room. The Lifetime Fitness Gym in the hotel is suck a treat after weeks and weeks of poorly appointed hotel gyms. The room is nicely appointed. I would love to give this a five stat acting but the bed in the room was saggy and creaky like something you would find in a roadside motel. Bar tender was super opinionated and dismissed the drink I ordered and the gym staff was clueless.

I purchased a pool side room this past weekend [9/10], I was very satisfied with the chairs and other amenities they provided, ex. the arcade. The pool side was closed down promptly at 11pm.
