Good location on the river, my room didn't have a river view though. Room layout was ok, but closet doors were awkward. Shower just has a couple foot piece of glass and no curtain so even a 5 minute shower leaves a pond of water across the bathroom floor. Perhaps the glass looks cool, but isn't practical. Front desk gets the job done, but not with much friendliness or warmth. On the upside did have a nice big workout room, but it opens up onto the conference meeting atrium, so if you might great... My wife and I stayed here for two days. Our room on the 6th floor provided us a nice vista of the Mississippi River. We enjoyed being able to walk down to nearby Raspberry Island for a closer view of the river. We were also only a few blocks away from the Fitzgerald Theater, where Garrison Keillor's "Prairie Home Companion" is produced when in town. Other convenient attractions were the Landmark Center and the Excel Energy Center. Since Kellogg Street was closed from the hotel to the Science Mus... Read more

Not a great location or price. Internet is terrible at best. No on site parking and for the price or parking you can get a much better room. Small room, OK beds, nice modern bathroom, very tight spaces. Only plus is the decent size TV but week internet or no internet most of the time offset that plus. Double bed room with one robe and they had the nerve to offer an upgrade to a single king, after I booked the double Queen and wanted to charge me more for the upgrade than online. An upgrade shou... The room was very nice, clean & quiet, despite the view of the parking lot. We were welcomed into the room at 55° temperature with the A/C - it was freezing! The bed had a definite sag on both sides, but the middle was great! The beautifully stylish shower spread water all over - we had to dry the area to be able to safely use the hairdryer afterwards. The 'bellboy' was super nice with a nice greeting, compared to the 'cold', perfunctory checkin person. The extremely large reception area refl... Read more

Stayed at several intercontinental; this one falls short. It was great to be able to park on the street before you check in. The lobby is unremarkable and dull. Check in was quick but my agent was rather unfriendly. Room upstairs had a nice view of the river. AC was awful. Did the temp controls on the wall even work? Bathroom was OK. Place was clean. The bed was awful. Super heavy comforter and scratchy sheets. Also, grease is dripping from the ceiling of their parking garage which... Read more

We held an 800+ attendee conference in St. Paul and used the InterContinental as one of the base hotels. First the bad news: Because this was a conference of very busy professionals, Wi-Fi was critical, and it just wasn't happening at the InterContinental. The good news is that most of the conference was held down the street at the RiverCentre conference center, where staff was able to hard-wire into the Internet. The good news: The river view from the 16th floor of the InterContinental was sp... Read more

I stayed for a week in late January and had a wonderful time. My room was very nice with a view of the partly frozen Mississippi river but my room was toasty warm. I had trouble with my coffee maker and one call to the front desk and a nice gentleman brought another to replace it with. I was attending the Skating Championship at the Xcel Energy Center and used the convenient underground walkway attached to the hotel. It was a 10 minute walk but a nice one and no coat needed. Hotel was great! Close to the Xcel Energy Center for the concert we were going to. Great staff overall and very clean room. Fairly pricey as I am sure it is when there is a concert but other than that, we had no complaints.

I stayed at the Intercontinental overnight and it was a great experience. Both the bed and pillows were comfortable. I was able to connect quickly to the Wifi and was impressed with the quick elevators. The staff was friendly as well. We went to the Supper Club at 10:30 on a Tuesday and it was packed, so we ended up going to a different restaurant. We had breakfast there the next day though, and it tasted good. The pricing seemed pretty reasonable as well.

I arrived on a Sunday night and stayed through Wednesday. It was a great place to stay during my conference at the St. Paul River Centre! I parked my vehicle at the hotel and didn't move it until I went home. They wrapped the parking fee up in my final bill, so that was easy. The amenities were great, particularly the fitness center. Stayed as a surprise for my husbands birthday! Checked in late on Saturday night. Front desk was very friendly! We decided to have dinner at midnight and the restaurant was still open! We had a lovely meal- Swedish meatballs were our favorite! Staff in the restaurant was also super friendly! Drinks were stiff, but tasty. Had room service dessert, from the Overnight menu. Cookies were dry but the cheesecake was spectacular!! Checkout time was noon, but room service showed up at 10 AM and w... Read more

We usually stay here on Wild game weekends because it is typically the cheapest of the hotels within walking distance. I think most of the rooms we've been in are pretty small. They are much narrower than a typical hotel room in this price range it seems. The restaurant onsite is decent. Overall, nothing to write home about to me, but clean, functional and close to Xcel.

We came for a concert so it was busy as expected. We couldn't fit in parking garage with pretty standard size truck so pretty much had to valet for $29. Lobby was nice and service quick and was nice and within walking distance of venue so that was really great. The next morning we went for a walk along the river which was really pretty. All around this was a very nice stay.

I managed a meeting of 400 at this hotel. The location is right on the Mississippi. The majority of the rooms have river views and if you can get a small suite with corner windows it is a wonderful experience. I looked out to the river and the autumn colored hills. We saw and eagle and hawks circling, paddle boats and barges. Service was extraordinary for the meeting and the food was delectable both in the restaurant and from the kitchen. They went the extra mile to see that all the alle... Read more

We stayed at the Intercontinental this past weekend. We were upgraded to a river view corner room on the 18th floor. The room was very small, but beautifully done with contemporary furnishings. Everything was updated and very clean. The beds were VERY comfortable. The bathroom was very large. It was a tight fit with four adults sharing this room, but all we needed it for was to sleep so it was fine.

I was at the hotel for a business conference Oct. 27-29, 2016. The front desk staff on duty the night of the 27th and morning of the 28th, were fantastic and on the night of the 28th....GREAT SERVICE.

Stayed here for two nights with friends for a birthday trip to St. Paul. The location was great with lots to do and see close by. Great views from the room overlooking the Mississippi River. Rooms were a little cramped but fine for sleeping and what they are designed for. Beds are very comfortable but rooms were a little warm and thermostat wouldn't go below 65. Nice ride bikes are located across the road and the river walkway isn't far away.

I used my IHG rewards points to get a free night and was not let down. This hotel is just amazing looking and well kept. The room was clean and spacious. There was a dorito under the desk but that may have been my fault as I asked for an early check in and may have rushed the housekeeping. The staff was very courteous and accommodating. The view was spectacular both during the day and at night. Parking is only 18 per night which is great for downtown St. Paul. The location is great as well.

The hotel is a good quality no nonsense business hotel: in good and bad. It delivers what you expect but doesn't thrill you anyhow. The room was alright with good bed and shower worked. Grey color can be stylish but the hue has to be right. Here it is not making the rooms dark and a bit sad. It was though silent to have good sleep every night we stayed there. Internet speed was low but worked somehow. Cleanliness and general maintenance of the property was alright, though far from immaculate. ... Read more
