I stayed here in March 2016 for the MSSA conference nearby. I liked everything about the hotel except the heater was a bit noisy and made it hard to sleep. Other than that, the amenities and complimentary hot breakfast were good enough to give it 4 stars.

I started trying to get a reservation for an April convention back in September 2015. I made calls in September and November and was having some trouble getting the convention rate. I spoke with Esta Goodman on December 10 and all my problems ended. Esta told me that she would take care of me and she did. She made my reservation for me at the convention rate and made sure all of my questions and concerns were answered to my satisfaction. Esta is an excellent representative of this hotel and... Good breakfast, small parking lot adjacent to the hotel, pillows need work, rooms are small when double bedded, front desk people are helpful. They have plenty of pillows but they are flat. Internet did go off and on. Close to convention center and easy walk to there and restaurants.

Like the hotel stay. The price is very high. Wish they didn't bump up the price so high. So, convenient to get to the bikes show, just a cross the street. Been staying at the place several times now. The room is old it need to remodel.

Was here for a conference, so the 1.5 block walk to the convention was great. All of the hotel staff were very well trained, helpful, and accommodating. The room was very comfortable with good heating and cooling. The hot breakfast was better than expected, though seating is limited at times. The only reason for the 4 rating was the morning traffic noise. I wasn't sleeping, so it's wasn't that big of a deal, but the morning rush hour traffic is audible. Considering this is the cheapest place to... Read more

Spent couple nights here with son for a college visit. Easy walk to campus (North Central U) in one direction and downtown and Twins baseball in the other! Bit of a walk to the Blue Line to reach the airport, but the 4 or 5 blocks is certainly manageable for the relatively healthy with rolling carry-ons. Accomodations clean, staff friendly and helpful. Will stay again. Great rate if call directly and can use North Central code.

The hotel is comfortable, it's very well located, in the night shift they even give us a list of places to have dinner an with a mark of personal suggestions that is great. The guy in the morning night probably need an extra coffee was not kind at all, even though in spite of him I would return.

We stayed here for 5 nights and did not have one complaint. The hotel was centrally located to downtown and the price was right. Our room and surroundings were impeccably clean. The front desk staff, especially Ian and Anna were kind, well informed and professional. We will stay here again when we return to Minneapolis.

Had a four night stay for the American Telemedicine Conference in May. Clean, close, reasonably priced (corporate is on a budget kick and I was setting a good example) and a full breakfast was included. The desk staff were terrific about my lost luggage and helpful about everything. The bed was decent, had good pillows and moderate quality linens. Bath amenities were ok. Rooms come equipped with a microwave, sink and fridge. Everyone had a smile on.

Stayed here before attending a play at the Orpheum. Very convenient location. We walked. Kinda expensive on a week night. Breakfast was fine. Love the breakfast delivery-if you're in a hurry and leaving early. Front desk staff helpful. That is all!

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night with my family of 4 when in town for a college visit at University of Minnesota. We had a 2 room suite with a queen bed in a separate bedroom and a sleeper sofa. We also brought our air mattress for extra sleeping space and the living room area was very spacious to accommodate air mattress. The room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was typical Holiday Inn Express food. Even had a gluten free muffin available. Parking was not available in their lot, but we p... Read more

I stayed at this hotel for two nights with my 3 kids. The hotel is clean and staff is friendly. It is conveniently located in the downtown area within walking distance of museums, target field and great restaurants. The breakfast was good and staff looking after the breakfast area was friendly and helpful.

Stayed with my family at this hotel on our way to the Dells. It was good however, I think the cleaning staff takes short cuts when it comes to cleaning the bathroom. Staff is friendly and pleasant to deal with. Breakfast bar is decent.

I have stayed at a lot of Holiday Inn hotels, and never been unsatisfied like I was here. When I arrived the front desk staff was grumpy and acted like I was inconveniencing them. Then when I had issues with my key card (every day of my 3 day stay!) they kept telling me it was my fault they weren't working. The hotel itself is cramped and outdated looking. The waiting room area has leather chairs that are worn to the point you can see the padding inside. The elevators have initials carved into... Read more

My husband and I were in town this weekend for a concert at the Xcel center. This hotel is clean and well maintained. The free breakfast was tasty and had a good selection of food options. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The staff at the front desk were very nice and helpful. My only complaint is that we were unaware of just how far the rail station is from the hotel before we booked our room. We needed to take the metro rail to the Xcel center. Although a 15 minute walk isn't usually a p... Read more

This has been or "go-to" hotel in Downtown Minneapolis for many years having stayed there probably 15 or so times. It's clean & comfortable with a friendly helpful staff, and it's in a great location. While we had another overall positive experience on our last visit in June, we no longer feel that we're getting good value for our money, or perhaps maybe not as big a bang for the buck as we used to. The hotel has been showing it's age for the last couple years and suggest that it has now reache... Read more

The hotel was very easy to access. Though it is stated that parking is given on a first come first serve basis, if you get there early enough the parking lot is convenient and secure. The location was nice, it was equal walking distance to Target Field, and the Vikings new stadium, which I understand is where the Hubert Humphrey Dome stood. Some of the staff were very friendly while others were indifferent. The room was very clean and comfortable, everything worked great, except the cooling s... Read more

I stay at a lot of HIXs and most are your usual low slung, basic-fixture, reliable, white-bread sort of motels, with the usual free bacon-and-eggs breakfast, wifi, guest laundry, pool, three machine exercise room and one-computer "business center". This one, in downtown downtown Minneapolis is a step up. There are 10ish stories, making for something resembling a view and above-the-street-noise quiet. The room and furnishings seemed to be a step up, too. I got the feeling this was a little mo... Read more

We were staying here for a family wedding in the area. I was impressed with this hotel. It was right in the middle of lots of cool restaurants and across the street from the convention center. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The parking garage felt clean and safe. it was a bit pricey, but this is to be expected when staying in the downtown area. I would have liked a free breakfast or a coupon for something to use at the Irish Pub that is part of the hotel. I will definetly s... Read more

Stayed here for two nights. Staff was very accommodating and the hotel had fresh, clean rooms. Our 5th floor room was PERFECT for great quiet rest. FANTASTIC downtown location! If you are looking for a 5-Star hotel with all the amenities, then not the place for you. HOWEVER, if you like a clean, friendly, helpful, well-kept, moderately priced, fantastic location, breakfast, and great value hotel, book early so you secure your room!

Very courteous staff. Didn't encounter any problems. I love that they have fruit-infused water in their lobby. I didn't open it, but I saw they had a binder of local happy hour information next to other area brochures & a discount card I think for restaurants. I was pleased with the cleanliness of the room. This hotel feels a bit dated, but that really doesn't matter as much as cleanliness and good staff. Breakfast was totally acceptable. They have a pancake making machine which is quite goo... I am very happy I choose to stay here. I initially choose it because of its price point and location. I don't normally stay at Hilton Hotels as I've had not so great experiences in the past, but I gave this one a try. Upon arriving, even though it was before check-in time, my room was ready. I was pleasantly greeted by the front desk agent. She was friendly and made me feel welcome immediately. I was treated horribly. There was something wrong with our toilet -- we checked into the hotel around 10pm, got settled, and left for a concert at about 10:30. When we returned home, there was water on the floor in the bathroom. How did we discover this? Because my friend slipped on it when she went into the bathroom and hit her head between the toilet and the bathtub on the way down. We didn't think much of it and assumed someone spilled water at some point while getting ready. We threw down a ... Read more
