For the class of hotel, the DoubleTree needs to do more to ensure a safe and clean environment for guests. From hairs in the bathroom to dead and alive roaches, something needs to be done to shore up the cleaning department. Although the hotel manager comped the room that evening and put me in a different one immediately, my attempts to reach corporate and the engineering director have resulted in zero callbacks. Not sure they have called in an exterminator or taken follow up action.

this appears to be just one more of the monoliths you see from the interstate, but it is actually quite good. the room I had was well appointed and very comfortable. Plus, no road noise even though it is close to the highway. The staff was friendly and helpful, they have a free shuttle to the airport and the Mall of the Americas. That could make this a more attractive option for family travelers. (believe me you do not want to have to find parking at that Mall!) the only drawback is limite... Read more

I used to love this hotel but it's lost it's charm. The restaurant staff is still top notch, super friendly but the front desk staff is terrible. We arrived late and the person working the front desk seemed bothered by our late arrival. We wanted to know if we could get a cot for our room.. Just looked as us, laughed and said no... Then we asked if we could get any extra blankets.. Another sarcastic laugh and said he might check with security... Of course blankets never came to our room. No hous... Read more

There were a lot of kids when we checked in but is soon as the work week started the kids level dropped off. The pool was not very impressive as an adult but kid sure seem to love it. Nice to have a restaurant on property with many food options. I got a high room on the 19th floor the HH floor so there weren't really any kids and had great views. Be sure to ask if and how much more money they took out in case you do something they need to charge you for. Especially if you are tight on money. Let me start out by saying that I hate to write a negative review, but on this hotel, that's exactly what it will be. We stayed here for our daughter's pageant. So we wanted to check in earlier than the check-in time, which obviously is not guaranteed. We understood that, but wanted to keep checking with the desk anyway, because it would have made our lives so much easier if we had our room so we could get our daughter ready. We stayed here the first week of June. The rooms were fine.My birthday was the day we arrived so my girlfriend called them and they had balloons in the room. They worked with my girlfriend to set this up before our arrival so that was cool of them I thought. Price was on sale, so value was fine. Didn't have the normal Hilton Continental Breakfast. For using it for a place to get some rest and a short distance to where I need to go anyway, Id stay at again.

The front desk staff is very nice, but that's where the good experience ended. This hotel is incredibly overpriced for what you get. It's old and rundown, our room would not get any cooler than 70 degrees, and there's no refrigerator or continental breakfast. I am a frequent traveler but on this occasion was in MN for a lacrosse tournament. The hotel had spacious rooms but were badly in need of updating. They had 2 doubles instead of queens. It had an overall tired feel and needed a paint job and good cleaning. Some color would be nice as the one time modern look now just appeared dull and boring. People were very nice. On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable. The only major issue was not having a room that was 100% wheelchair friendly. I was not able too was my hair for the entire length of the conference.I requested a handicap room but there wasn't any available. I did not have time to make an appointment to use the shower room S.B.A. Reserves each year. In my view there needs to be a way to anticipate how many people will (require) ADA rooms rather than be overwhelmed .

I am a disabled person and so really needed a handicapped accessible room. Unfortunately because the national Spina Bifida conference was being held in the hotel, I was one of the participants, there were not enough accessible rooms to fill the need. Still, the staff seemed to do their best to accommodate me and address the problems I had with the room. Overall I was very pleased with my stay and would have no qualms about staying there again if I have the opportunity.

Loved this hotel. We stayed for four nights and everything was beautiful. My only slight negative is the absence of a refrigerator in the room - and only a tiny ice bucket. I reserved this room through Hotwire as I wanted an affordable getaway. I was initially assigned a room by the pool. From reading others reviews that were not favorable of that location, I asked for a different location in the main tower. My request was accommodated. Upon entering the room and checking it out, I saw a bunch of sunflower seed shells in the air conditioner unit. I reported it to the front desk and it was taken care of. I also noticed that the breakfast menu door nob hanger place... Read more

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff is always warm and welcomes you with a smile! The food is wonderful and great selections. The services are prompt and efficient. Anytime I'm in the area, this is where I stay! I highly recommend the Doubletree by Hilton Bloomington!

No refridgerator nor microwave in the room. They are available for rent at $10/day. However they were all rented out. My comforter was stained but was covered up with a clean sheet so I did not notice until later. Evelyn at the front desk kinda has an attitude. Breakfast buffet available for $12.

My company chose this hotel for a prolonged stay which is not a good fit. They have several large banquet rooms and host a lot of large functions which makes it quite noisy and not conducive to rest for someone working nights in the area. Also very few amenities available. No refrigerator, no microwave - well not without an extra $10 charge a piece per day. If you want your room cleaned they need to know before 8 am the day of cleaning. The entire facility - which is huge- has ONE yes ONE ... Read more

I don't understand how this hotel is allowed to have the Doubletree name (minus the bed being comfortable). So glad we are only here for one night! If you want to hear everything going on around you in this hotel stay here - currently at 2:25am listening to the neighbor's get it on while watching TV. It is CRYSTAL clear. We stayed in the south tower on the sixth floor for two weekend nights. Very quiet. The rooms are very nice, ample sized. Bed extremely comfortable, especially the pillows. Excellent water pressure with the shower. Very strong wifi signal, and wifi is complimentary for Hilton Honors members. About 10 minutes away from the Mall of America.

Hotel was clean, housekeeping staff were great, check-out was great. In room dining time was slow and food was a definite "NO" on the meat and fresh fruit items. I tried to order things that had not expired, fries, cake, etc... any fresh meat or fruit was just a total waste of time and could not even be eaten.

Stayed at this hotel because a small conference I was attending was being held in the building. Great conference facilities and catering. Rooms are nice (I was in the North Tower) but have double beds. Fine if you don't need to share a bed with anyone, but not great if you have more than two to a room.

You expect Doubletree to be a very nice hotel & this one does not dissapoint in most regards. However, the "Free" Wi-Fi isnt worth a plug nickle unless you subscribe to their $9.95 upgrade to high speed. The normal WiFi loses the connection constantly and I never could get through to most business websites (Tdameritrade for instance). They also do not provide luggage carts, they call you a bellman instead. Breakfast is not free either. Add $45-$50 to whatever price you booked your room at to com... Read more

I was greeted by a wonderful young women, who was very professional and cheerful for check in. This is a good hotel to stay, so long as the price is not too high - $180/night would be too high even given the market. The North Tower is nice, but is in need of a renovation - a bit dated in the rooms, but clean - perhaps that's in the plan. I found the Hotel comfortable, with good (and prompt) room service. I was at the Doubletree for a conference. The room was clean and a good size. The conference space was nice and well used by the organizers. The staff at the dinner was rude. The people serving were very gruff when serving and downright angry with clearing. At one point I was shoved aside by an older lady clearing the table so she could reach silverware from the center of the table. It was very startling! I would definitely stay at the hotel again, but I would not book and event there.
