The room small was very dark generally poor lighting with a florescent light over the bed. It was like a dorm room, small desk and even smaller place to hang clothes. I stayed one night and was not able to get any sleep, the room next door had a bunch of noisy kids late into the night. Could not get the temperature right either. When taking a shower it took forever to get the soap off.

When we arrived the front desk person was friendly (after initial unresponsiveness) but unhelpful (outdated restaurant numbers, gave us the number to call the sister hotel for availability... And we are international travellers with no phone). The hall on level 3 stinks like smoke and so did our room (long term stench) despite being designated non-smoking. Our room was clean to the eye but unfortunately my toddler neice found an old rusk under the bed. Positively there is a mini fridge, and the ... Read more

This hotel is clean and very well kept up for the most part...However our experience was not a good one...The customer rep at the front desk gave our friends and my wife and I adjoining rooms at our check-in. When our friends arrived we were told that they could not have the adjoining room , but instead the non-adjoining room on the other side of our room. Apparently, the day shift worker could not read the notes left for her by the worker who checked us in the day before. We also had a issue w... Read more

I like everything about this hotel! Overall it's great. A. Lot of people like to nitpick about the littlest stuff, so here goes....continental breakfast "nook" could get congested; no coffee maker in room; hotel air freshener is strong when you first walk in, it was a little difficult to get to- there was no straight entrance. IMO it's a great hotel. I don't focus so much on the "little things" for the amount I paid. Clean room, Big bathroom, room was close to elevator and ice machine, convenie... Read more

I recently traveled to Minnesota for an Athena's by LJ party, and needed a place to host as well as stay. The queen size suite was perfect! Ample space for both show and ordering room, and the bed was comfortable after the long drive out there. The breakfast in the morning was diverse, and even had something gluten free for me (yogurts and fresh fruit). The front desk was welcoming and helpful. My only suggestion would be to have better wheels on the luggage trolleys.

A bit crowded for breakfast, as a result of a small place to serve. The only complaint was that smokers are in the doorway sitting, to force all persons to walk through & thus, smell their smoke. I was waiting in the car to enter when someone was smoking. Stayed inside when coming out.... This needs to be fixed!

I booked this room for a basic, but comfortable room after a long days travel and desire to sleep in and be rested before another day of travel. I was very disappointed in the overall condition of this hotel and how worn everything looked. Not the typical quality of other Microtel's I have been accustomed to. It wasn't easy to find, but off major roads. Bed was okay, but pillows were lacking. Breakfast was very basic, but okay and front desk both evening and morning were helpful when asked,... Read more

Normal boring hotel. The room is very small, which is fine. But the hotel seems really old and dated, so I'm guessing this was a different hotel chain before Microtel got it. The toilet we had continued to flush at least 3 times after flushing it. They give you 3 pillows, which left me and my hubby trying to fight over having a second pillow! LOL! They should provide 4. If you just need a cheap hotel to crash in for the night, this is the perfect place to do it.

I have stayed at Microtels' in the pass...this was certainly is lacking in upkeep and general maintenance issues. The air didn't work and it was 86 degrees outside with high humidity, second we had a toilet that ran all night long, continually filling with water and water leaking on the floor! I probably have just stayed at my last night at Microtel! This is too bad since I really liked them!

As soon as I got off the elevator I was hit with this very strong perfume like smell which almost gave me an instant headache. Not too impressed. The smoke alarm battery needed to be replaced, which means every 15 seconds the smoke alarm beeps. This was a wonderful thing to wake up to at 11pm. After a few failed attempts to get it to stop beeping I brought the smoke alarm to the front desk and the night attendant was not exactly understanding, or even nice. Eagan tourism double booked me on the second half of my vacation instead of stacking my nights like I submitted. The front desk employee helped to change us to the correct dates and upgraded our room. The bad: The bathroom vent cover was falling off during our 3 night stay - nothing major, just cosmetic. The room ac took hours to cool the room, I had the fan run once when we were sleeping and forgot to turn the ac back on when we went out for the day. That night was very hot, even with the ac... Motel staff was excellent & very helpful. My single room was extremely small but comfortable. No grab bars in the bathroom. I didn't have a car as I was dropped off by another traveler before a plane flight. I spent 3 nights here. There was no shuttle or bus service & distance was too far too far to walk to a restaurant, shopping or other points of interest. There were no sidewalks so walking was limited to streets. I ordered meals in. Taxi fare to the airport was about $25.

To set expectations, this is a place I stay at for work when I am looking for a place that is affordable (cheap), conveniently located (about a mile to the office) and has the basics. The property feels safe and overall seems clean, so that is good. The air conditioning unit can leak into the room, leaving the carpet damp. I was disappointed in this Microtel as I had previously stated at the one in Midland, TX 4th of July weekend and it was great. So I assumed this one would be similar but far from it. Room size and amenities are completely different. The continental breakfast was even different. The hotel smells smokey even though our room is non smoking. The first night at this hotel was horrible. Firstly, our room did not have a working air condition unit and the front desk clerk did not make the effort to switch us to another room. The room we had was small but sufficient, with bigger rooms available for not much more money. Only problems with the room are: they haven't yet put mini-fridges in all the rooms and this one didn't have one; and, the heater/air-conditioner units are very noisy and blow directly on the bed.
