My wife and I came here for a weekend get away. Never been to Duluth so why not. Free parking? Check. Front desk staff very friendly and the agm was great with giving us ideas for activities in the area. The only weird thing was that shortly after we got in our room a housekeeper barged in, no knock nothing, she seemed surprised and asked if we were staying over, um no we just checked in. So I think communication was a little sloppy. Besides that it was a great stay. Clean rooms comfortable beds... Read more

We were at this hotel this weekend for a math conference at DECC. The hotel has many good things. Front desk staff are polite and efficient, check-in was rather quick, very good access by a skyway to DECC, and easy parking. WiFi is free too. What we did not like, and the current staff has no control on this, is a swimming pool on the 8th floor, right at the center of the hotel, and open to so many floors. This being a downtown hotel, likely to be a business hotel, where people come for work an... Read more

Rooms are up to date and spacious, with great window blinds that are either totally opaque, or the other lets some light in. Convenient onsite parking ramp, and the hotel is interconnected to the passageway system in the downtown for easier movement in poor weather.

This seems to be a very well run, well kept up hotel. The people are very nice and helpful. The beds were comfortable. The rainfall shower was really nice. It was pretty quiet, too. I was a little disappointed to find chunks of food on the floor when I first walked in, but other than that our stay was uneventful. Downstairs in the mall area there is a really nice quick-serve place that has great coffee, donuts, and breakfast burritos.

Great view of Lake Superior from our room on the 8th floor . Beds and pillows were comfy. There was a little wear and tear in places (minor but noticeable) most notably in the bathroom but the bathroom was nice and big. We prefer a continental breakfast included with our room and it wasn't offered here. Being right downtown and close to the canal park area was a bonus. Lots of really nice restaurants and shops close by. We loved Duluth and will most likely look for a different hotel if we e... Read more

There??s humor in Duluth. Good humor. It starts when you??ve navigated the one-way grid downtown and finally manage to be on the right street, going in the right direction, to make that left-hand turn into the Holiday parking garage. Keep thinking ??left,?? because you enter the structure on the left side of the ramp. (Most newbies head toward the right side and wonder why another car would be coming down the ramp right at them on the same side. Or you might notice the signage just in t... Read more

The front desk staff made this a nice stay. Very friendly and welcoming. Smiles all around. Our room was quite nice with evidence of a recent remodel/update. Bed was comfortable, good HVAC control, window coverings and bath. Mostly very clean with a notable miss with the bath vent covered in thick dust and an empty tp holder. There are a lot of rooms in this hotel. Take the time to understand where yours will be to avoid being too close to the very noisy pool areas which are on 4 and 8 floors ... Read more

The hotel was just OK from a cleanliness and staff friendliness perspective. the pool set up was nice for our team of soccer players. I would never choose this hotel based on the overall comfort and location however. You are much better staying in Canal Park if you're going to visit Duluth.

The staff at this hotel is super friendly and accommodating. There were some very loud people in the pool area where are room was located, and the staff helped find us a quieter room and were really nice about it. It's a very clean hotel and easy to get to. I would stay here again.

Stayed one night after an eight night wilderness camping/fishing trip. Could not park at hotel as ramp would not accommodate a boat trailer. Desk staff had great difficulty providing accurate directions to adequate parking facility off-site. Excellent room, very clean (except for used Q-tip on floor). Desk staff didn't explain where to locate sheets/blanket/pillow for fold-out bed. Great restaurant on site.

I stayed at this hotel for a wedding, which was also held at the hotel. The front desk staff was very friendly and professional and made it easy for me to check-in early. My room was clean and comfortable with a great view. I loved the location, which made it easy for me to walk to shops and restaurants in downtown. My only complaint was that the parking garage was dark and dingy and the Holiday Center the hotel is attached to feels really dated.

This Holiday Inn is very convenient to my work site visit and has free parking. Nice rooms with a separate working area and sleeping area. Clean which is a first priority for me, but could be updated in many areas. The evening room service food is sub par, but the breakfast room service was quite decent. Smell of chlorine in interior rooms with pool view is not pleasant. Would return for business.

The location can't be beat (unless you want to be right in the midst of the craziness of Canal Park) - it's a short 5 minute walk to the canal and lift bridge! My room was lovely and the "Quick Order" room service option was great. Left my order hanging on the doorknob the night before and awoke to a decent breakfast. We were passing through on a motorcycle tour when one of our companions had a medical issue. We needed to book the first hotel we came to and this was it. As Canadians we prefer to stay at this Hotel chain so that was perfect. What wasn't perfect was the price. The night before we stayed at the Holiday Inn in Thunder Bay. Without the exchange rate this hotel was $60 a night more and there was no free breakfast. When you factor in the exchange rate, this hotel was double.

We stayed on the 16th floor with a beautiful view of the harbor and lake. My son and I enjoyed the two pools but would recommend the one in the atrium where there was also a hot tub. The pool in the atrium also was made entirely of stainless steel, which was unique but looked a but unsightly where scum (or mineral deposits?) had formed by the water level.
