What a great property! The staff is great, the location is fantastic, the room was fantastic ... everything was great! On my next trip to Duluth, I'll definitely stay here. I was in for a conference at the DECC - the conference set up a group block at another hotel in downtown and I'm so glad i stayed here instead. Beautiful and private lakefront view, great neighborhood and best part of the city in walking distance, and an easy short drive to DECC (better than the lonnnng walk others made throu... Read more

We stayed at the Hampton for a quick midweek overnight trip. The property was safe, clean and well-maintained. Rooms were comfortable in every aspect and we had no complaints. Pool area is warm and tropical. Breakfast was appropriate. The staff was helpful. Lake view rooms provide beautiful vistas of Superior. The Canal Park location is very, very convenient for restaurants and nightlife.

Always enjoy my stay at Hampton Inn! I have stayed there several times over the years and never a bad experience. If you've never spent a night at Canal Park, this is a great place to stay and more affordable than some of the other hotels. Walking distance from food, drinks, and entertainment. And right on the Lake. Perfect!

When we arrived shortly before 3 pm we were told that our room would not be ready until 3. When we rechecked it still was not ready but finally by 3:20 or so we were checked in. The hotel looked to need some upgrading. The carpets were worn and appeared to need significant cleaning in both the halls and the room. It's obvious that the hotel gets significant traffic.

Taking over a week and 3+ phone calls to get the charge off of my reservation Visa. The clerk did not check the number I had used for the reservation back in January and charged both cards. Was suppose to "drop off" in 3 business days. Called again because I now have 2 pending charges on my reservation Visa. Shouldn't be this much trouble. We have been staying at this hotel for years. It seems to be going downhill with unvacuumed steps and dirty upholstered chairs in the eating area.

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the past 3 years and wouldn't stay anywhere else. The rooms are consistently clean, the staff is always friendly and helpful, and the location right on Lake Superior can't be beat. Could it use some updating? Probably. This is an above average Hampton Inn, located in the Canal Park area. Easy to get to, very walkable neighborhood with pleasant staff. The rooms are large and comfortable. We enjoyed one night at this hotel which delivers the standard Hampton Inn experience in an excellent location. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet and I believe recently updated, while the property itself was beginning to show its age. The location is incredible, overlooking Lake Superior and within walking distances of shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. I paid a bit extra for a lake view with no regrets; however, you can also enjoy the lake from the breakfast area and a small... Read more

The Hampton Inn in Canal Park in Duluth, MN is a great location. All of the employees we encountered were nice and helpful. Tons to do within walking distance. I recommend this hotel and this area to everyone.

The price is too high for quality of room. Location is good, hotel is clean, breakfast is OK but only OK. It was very noisy at night, since the hallway door had a large space to the floor. The price is just too high for the quality of the room. we will probably not stay here again despite HHonors.

We stayed in a Jacuzzi suite. Beautiful view from the third floor looking out over the water. The suite was clean and we enjoyed it. The downside, the inside was very dated and old. It needs a new refresh to bring the decor up to date. Had we known how old this hotel was, we would have stayed at newer more fresher places for the amount of money we paid.

This is a nice property, though quite high priced. But regardless of the price, spring for the extra and get a room with a Lake Superior view. You'll be glad that you did. The property was clean, as were the rooms. But I thought the rooms felt small in comparison to other hotels where I've stayed recently. This hotel is also in an excellent location. There are abundant options for food and drinks - including Downtown Duluth - within walking distance. And also coffee in the morning.

Looking at fall leaves . Late in the season in Oct, so a lot of things to do were closed for the season. There were a lot of nice eating places close enough to walk to. Hotel has a good location. Hotels in that area are a bit pricey.

Very comfy. Enjoyed the sitting area overlooking the lake and the living room area was nice, as well. Good breakfasts, cookies in the afternoon - very homey! And out the back door onto the boardwalk along the lake. Pretty grounds.

It's hard to imagine that this particular Hampton Inn is 20 years old this year and that the business is in talks to redo the entire building in 2017 because it is already near perfect. I found the room spacious, the comfort level high, and the overall service exceptional. Plus, the location is superb. If I have to have one criticism it is the middle aged woman sitting with her mother at breakfast this morning who insisted of taking pictures with her digital camera of the great outdoor scene o... This hotel is in a perfect location to enjoy the view of Lake Superior as well as walking around the lake. The pool area is all new and the rooms are really nice. We've stayed here several times over the years and had really great experiences.

Booked a King Suite, lake view, with whirlpool tub for our anniversary. I believe it was the most expensive room in the hotel. They gave me room 133 which is on the 1st floor. As you can see from the picture I took while sitting in the middle of the sofa, technically there is a lake view, it's just behind the trees. Same thing in the bedroom. If you go up to the window and stand there you can see some of the lake around the trees but imagine going to a sporting event, splurging for the most expe... Read more

This hotel was easy to find from the interstate and located right on Lake Superior. There was plenty of parking, and check-in went smoothly with very helpful staff. This appeared to be an older hotel that had been updated, so the room and windows seemed a bit small to us, but adequate. This hotel was quite high priced compared to other hotels we stayed in during a month of traveling, but we booked a lake-front room so that increased the price a bit. The view from the lobby was lovely and it ... Read more

I travel to Duluth at least once a year and always try to stay at the Hampton Inn Duluth. The staff is excellent and the views and location can't be beat in Canal Park. This stay as part of their free breakfast, there was a 'seasonal' item of pumpkin muffins available which were delicious!

We had a great stay at The Duluth Hampton Inn. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Loved the bed and pillows. We also enjoyed the clean pool and hot tub area. We slept very well and had waffles and juice for breakfast. We had a lake view room and watched a storm come in at night. We saw forks of lightning and ocean size waves from our window. We enjoyed the lake, Duluth and our room at The Hampton. We will be back and I highly recommend this hotel!

This was a short weekend trip to Duluth to visit family on a special occasion. We found this hotel to be a perfect location on Canal Park. Had stayed at another hotel a year earlier on the other side of the bridge, which was not nearly as convenient. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Nice lobby with sitting area and breakfast room with a view. Good breakfast offerings as well. Great value overall!

We were celebrating a 70th birthday. The hotel was very nice, clean and friendly staff. We enjoyed the first night of lighting of Bentlyville. The storm provided additional entertainment as someone was surfing in the 24 ft waves just outside the hotel.
