This hotel has everything and even allows pets. The staff has exemplary hospitality skills, especially Connie and Arvilla. We moved all our stuff 2,900 miles from the east coast to the west coast. After calling about a dozen hotels with no avail to accommodate us..... I had a quick & friendly conversation with Connie and everything was turn key from there. This was the only one for a 100 mile radius that not only was welcoming and accepted pets, but has extremely nice facilities. It has everyt... Read more

One of the nicest hotels I've stayed at lately. Stayed there instead of driving home after going to Ralphie May show at Diamond Jo Casino. Employees were very friendly and asked if we needed anything. Room was very nice and roomy, comfortable bed, welcoming decor. Overall cleanliness of the hotel. Although we didn't get an opportunity to use the hot tub or pool due to getting back after 11 pm, the area was clean and tidy. The breakfast had plenty of variety for everyone. Would definitely stay t... Read more

Received a lovely greeting from the lady at the front desk. Our king suite was spotless, comfortable and quiet - we never heard another guest (yes there were other guests). This isn't the first time we've stayed here and it's as nice as it was 3 years ago which is exactly what I would expect from a Holiday Inn Express. There is a Love's truck stop in the area and I did hear some trucks pull in until about 8:30 p.m. - seemed they'd "purposely" make noise to "announce" their arrival. However, ... Read more

I have had so many dirty hotels of late this was exciting. It was clean. Nothing gross. That brought me joy. They also have a pancake machine and that brought me joy because I love the Holiday Inn Express Pancake Machines. The front desk people were great and even though my third party reservation specialist made a mistake with the dates the room was booked the lady at the front desk handled it without a single complaint. I could have hugged her. The breakfast attendant was nice and when the hol... Read more

The Holiday Inn Express east of I-35 at Albert Lea, Minnesota, has a wonderful staff and met most of my expectations. Holiday Inn Express maintained their high standards throughout my stay. They were able to freeze my ice cooler ice packs. Great breakfast! Minor problem with TV was promptly fixed by Connie. Biggest concern is finding the place. There's no sign off East Main St. where drivers need to turn to reach the hotel. My thanks to Michelle Neeley, general manager, and her staff for... Read more

We were traveling through the area and this was a convenient location and we have had good experiences at Holiday Inn Express in the past. We had a good experience. The room was quiet, comfortable and roomy enough for our needs. A nightlight type option for the bathroom would be nice as would a bathroom fan. I frequently am up before the rest of my party and like to leave the room to let them sleep. This place doesn't have a good, out the way, sitting area to relax or converse with friends. The... I was driving late at night with my sisters. It was past midnight, and all of us wanted to go to bed. The man helping us did not know what he was doing. He was very nice and kept apologizing, but the manager needs to do a better job training his employees.

Property seems fairly new with bigger than normal rooms. Hotel is very clean and staff friendly. We had a little trouble finding the turn for the street that leads to the hotel, and actually passed it up and had to double back - some signage at the turn might be helpful.

Great location right off the highway and one of the few places to take pets. Front desk staff very friendly. Rooms were decent with comfortable beds and good sized room. Breakfast just ok but typical for holiday inn express. Kids enjoyed the pool. We would stay again although the room was a little pricey.

The front desk staff was very friendly and checked us in smoothly. The hotel itself and the grounds were beautiful and the rooms were immaculate, with refrigerators and comfortable beds. It was so nice to be at a pet-friendly hotel! The only trouble (as others have noted) was figuring out how to get to the hotel from the main road! We could see it, but the road to get there isn't clearly marked. You feel like you're going to the truck stop, but the road also takes you to the drive for the hotel.... Read more

Stopped here for just one night on our way home. Hotel was clean, updated and staff was very friendly. Breakfast was as expected. Our room was good, but the beds were very squeaky in our room (I forgot the number, but it was a handicap accessible room). Like others have mentioned, the entrance is hard to find especially in the dark. Better signs for that would be helpful. Would stay here again, no problem.

We always stay in Holiday Inns when we can, Even though they are all of various different ages, they are always the same which is nice as you know what to expect. We went on annual road trip and stopped in Albert Lea to see a play. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good as expected. The staff were friendly and helpful as expected. I managed to leave my shower bag there and called them from our next destination and they posted the bag back to me. What more can you ask... Read more

In a town that the best selection of hotels is 2 1/2 stars, this was pretty good. We were passing through on the way home and this was a good place to stop. Did not see anything else about the town other than this hotel. The best thing about it was the location just off the interstate and next to gas stations, yet far enough away that noise and light were not factors. Hotel was 4 years old and the staff pretty enthusiastic, breakfast was good.

Newer hotel. Very clean and quiet. The staff welcomed me when I walked in and let me know if they could do anything. It's right off I-90 so very convenient. The breakfast area was consistent with the brand and was very good. I will be back when in the area.

We passed thru the area and needed a stay for the night. No regrets here! It is a nice, quiet hotel. It appears to be newer. The rooms are plenty big and comfortable and the breakfast couldn't be better! Yes, we would come back.

We just stayed for one night on our way to South Dakota. Location is convenient right beside the I-90. Applebee's a short walk away for supper. Also a supermarket HY VEE right beside Applebee's. We were given a room (204) intended for a disabled person. So a little different lay out then we are used to. Bathroom sink was very slow draining and the shower was difficult to use, maybe because it was designed for a disabled person to use. Rest of the room was quite small but OK for a short sta... Loved how spacious the room and bathroom was. Every person we came across was nice. Bed was awesome, and breakfast was great even had one of the ladies come up and offer more coffee. Great location easy access to I35 and I90.

Think it is the newest hotel in Albert Lea. Room was quiet, clean and about the right size. One slow elevator to serve 3 floors. Located next to a cornfield which was fine with me. There is a fast food place across the road. Seems like there were always warm cookies at the front desk. Breakfast was way above average although seating is limited. My main priorities for a hotel are clean and quiet and this one fit the bill

This is a newer Holiday Inn, very nice, clean, nice furnishings, efficient check in, comfortable beds and pillows, spacious bathroom....those are the important elements of a nice hotel. There was also a nice pool but we did not use it. Now for the negatives (which may sound petty but when staying at a "nicer" hotel, you expect some basics). The breakfast area is very poorly looks nice but has very few tables, most of which seat 6-8 people. The plastic ware is pathetic! I expect... Read more

This place is what you want in an overnight stay at a Holiday Inn Express - no surprises. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and we enjoyed a nice quiet night. The Breakfast was the usual fare, and the food was hot. I would have no qualms about stay there again when we pass through town. And I think the price was reasonable, which makes it all the better.

Employees have always been friendly and know how to smile, but some money needs to be spent on bedding and towels. I can't stand it when bedding is so worn you can see thru it or when towels are soiled/stained; had both my last stay here. Crisp sheets should be the norm not the exception, seems like IHG doesn't know this...
