This is my second stay at Troy Marriott, and I decided to bring my family for a night away from home. Jaffrey was pleasant and gave attention to my children making them feel comfortable at check-in. Standard rooms feel upscale and the hotel environment is clean and stylish. We enjoyed room service, the bar, and then the restaurant for breakfast. The concierge lounge was closed on Saturday, but that isn't too surprising. Everything met my expectations for Marriott hotels. And overall I enjoy thi... Read more

Recently we took 4 adults and 4 girls to the Marriott for a staycation! The girls are 13 years old and are all going to separate schools next year. We planned this special evening for weeks and had booked the hotel a month in advance. We started our day at the mall and around 3:30 decided to go to the hotel to shower and relax before dinner. We had booked 2 double bed connecting rooms and paid extra for concierge facility room of snacks. When we got to the hotel there was a large company pa... Read more

I was a recent guest of the hotel while attending my cousin's wedding celebration. The front desk attendants were warm and welcoming and check-in was quick and easy. One of the agents was a trainee, my apologies for not getting his name, but wanted to say how genuinely polite and helpful he was - definitely an asset to the hotel. Room was small but comfortable. Great bed. Loved the expansive views from my window. Kudos to the lobby bar staff! Great service - very friendly and efficient. ... Read more

Hotel is outdated and in need of a makeover. Room was stuffy and AC would not cool the room. Was clean, but not cosmetically pleasing. I expect more from a Marriott. Staff was exceptional and genuinely pleasant. Okay for a stay, but just know it needs updated.

Hotel was clean and well maintained. Rooms were a bit small and cramped and bed was not all that comfortable. Staff was not overly friendly but service was OK. We had 4 people staying in our room but were only given 2 towels each day - not sure why. Also hotel really had to gathering areas for families/groups so people were partying/drinking in the halls all night.

Although the hotel is showing its age a bit - the bathrooms are a bit last century - the service was friendly and helpful. The fixtures and amenities were fine, the bed comfortable, the hotel quiet. Nice pool, sufficient health club with cardio and weight lifting rooms. A solid address if you have business in the area

I was in Troy for a trip to see family. I got an early check-in after taking a red-eye from the west coast. Room was a good size, bed and pillows very comfortable. I got a room on a higher floor to avoid traffic noise.

I've stayed here a few times and each time I'm happy. The lobby is really nice with modern decor, plenty of outlets to plug in you laptop, tablet or phone. Coffee & snacks available for purchase in the lobby as well. The bar offers food and not just "bar food"; delicious meals and with large portions. Convenient parking structure behind the hotel. The rooms are always comfortable and clean with well working A/C & heat. The only thing I'd prefer is a better placed full length mirror in the rooms.... Read more

Dated. Small rooms. The Bathrooms of the 70's. The service of a Disney World Hotel when they bring you the shampoo and shower gel in a plastic bag they leave by the sink, and drop the extra towels without removing the dirty ones from the floor. Not sure what they understand by "turn down service" we asked to freshen up the room and to our shock the bed was left undone from our afternoon nap and the dirty towels left were they were. A disappointment. Our Room 1407 and we are checking out in ... Read more

We visited for two nights, taking advantage of their couples getaway package. They upgraded our room to concierge level! In fact the front desk attendant Farrad (hope I spelled that right) went out of his way to help us and do things for us every time we saw him. He certainly exemplified the Marriott service ethic. Other reviews talked about no space for gathering -- walk in the front door people! There's loads of space, tables, chairs, couches, etc! Our room was clean and modern. My only compla... Read more

We recently stayed at this property and the rooms and lobby were clean and well ordered, and that is Marriott's well-deserved reputation. But we ate breakfast in the restaurant two mornings in a row and the service was beyond slow. We opted to order from the menu, rather than have the buffet, so it may be they rely on that as the speedier option. But there was just no excuse to wait over 30 minutes each day for eggs, bacon and toast. The staff was pleasant but clueless. We were almost late for a... Read more

Stayed here one night and as I was driving home I get a notification from my bank. -250$ from Marriott? When I called I was told the room showed "excessive evidence of smoking" LOL! Every room has a balcony so the extent of our smoking was done outside but to make it easier on the cleaning person, I threw all of my cigarette buts away. NEVER AGAIN! Now I know to just leave my mess where it may lay. Never staying at this chain again and hopefully this helps to prevent any other smokers from getti... Read more

Stayed here while attending a wedding in the area. Totally nice for what it was. Seems like a place to come for a wedding or conference. All around totally nice and as expected. The surrounding area is nice as well and there's a large mall around the corner.

Well located on Big Biver road, but old rooms and expensive lodging without the services expected for this type of hotel level. Good bar restaurant and friendly personal. The breakfast room is horribly gloomy. Very close to shopping mall and over dinning location

We stayed here for the mark ridleys comedy castle package with no idea what to expect. Everything was great. The room was large and very clean. Our floor was quiet even though there were several things going on at the hotel. The bed was very comfortable. As a marriott rewards member I got free WiFi so that was a bonus. Wasn't even aware, but free shuttle to the comedy castle and back. Yay!! The breakfast was great, and included in our package as well.. Omelets to order. Cheese blintze... Read more

I visited Detroit Marriott Troy during a business trip. The hotel offers a standard variety of facilities, including gym, and a shuttle service (very useful if you are traveling without you car, as I did). Rooms are well arranged, clean and sufficiently big (restrooms are a bit old-fashioned). Staff at the reception is very helpful and supportive. Common areas and conference centers look quite old, but overall good and practical.

Centrally located on Big Beaver right off of I-75 in Troy, Michigan, the Detroit Marriott Troy is a world-class business hotel that features an enticing lounge, luxurious entry-way, state-of-the-art gym facilities, and helpful staff. Rooms are fairly standard, but clean and well-maintained. Club level access provides complementary breakfast and refreshments throughout the day, worthwhile if you have Marriott status.

This is an outstanding hotel. It may well be part of a chain, but the hotel is bursting with personality. In the evening the lobby lounge is very active, bartender very welcoming, excellent cocktails, great appetizers and great TVs to watch the Olympics. Room was delightful with great bathroom lighting and amenities. Our housekeeper could not have been nicer. Check-in was very warm and friendly and extremely efficient. ( We used the Marriott app). Majority of the employees were very professional and went out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. Our company made a mistake with billing and 150 employees arrived to check in believing the hotel cost had been taken care of. In reality it had not and many of us were advised we would have a bill over $600. Our arrival was on a Sunday and there was not a contact for us to call within our company. The Troy Marriott is a typical Marriott. It was exactly what I was expecting, no better and no less. The hotel is an easy on and off the highway and is located within a few minutes drive of many restaurants and shopping areas. There are limited parking spaces around the outside of the hotel, but then also a parking garage in the back that is free to use. Internet in your room and breakfast are not free unless you have the right Marriott status. Internet is free however in the lobby and they have... Read more

The hotel is located about 30 miles outside of Detroit. While there are plenty of attractions in the Motor City, Troy is a quaint escape. The hotel was surprisingly quiet. We went to Detroit for the first time in September, 2016, and when air travel is part of our journey, our first choice is Marriott. Detroit has a Marriott close to the airport, a downtown option, and a number of options in the Detroit area. We chose the Detroit Marriott Troy and were quite pleased. Our hostess in the concierge lounge could not have been more charming, and our room was comfortable and quiet.

We chose this hotel for the incredibly easy access to Children's Hospital. The staff seemed to notice this and went above and beyond to make our one night stay relaxing. The food is phenomenal and the executive lounge (for Marriott reward members) is clean and friendly. Was a bit surprised to see a charge for alcohol as Hiltons offer basic shelf free of charge but regardless, it was a great evening. Extremely clean hotel!
