We were looking to go North for the weekend and our friends told us about the ParkShore Resort so we checked into it. The location, price and amenities all seemed to be what we were looking for so we booked a room. The experience could not have been better. We were greeted by a warm and helpful staff, our room was ready, clean and neat and the lounge offered a great happy hour. Later we decided to stay for dinner and the meal was comparable to a 5 star restaurant. It was a great meal at a v... Read more

Okay rooms. Couple of issues, but for $80...they were overlooked. Pealing wall paper in the rooms and some weird kind of mattress pad that made noise every time you moved. Music in the hallways can be heard in the rooms, however they turn it off at 10:00 pm and you can hear loud pool noise on the 2nd floor (we were in 202). Our friends were on the other end and could hear the DJ....guess I'd rather have the pool noise. On the positive side...the lobby was in great shape. The lady doing the... Read more

We stayed here with another couple a few Summers back. It was a nice small hotel with an absolutely gorgeous Beach! It is close to a lot of things that you may want to visit in Traverse City. Their rooms were great and it was nice to have a restaurant on site.

The hotel does have nice views being on the beach but the building itself needs some work done on it. The rooms are nice and roomy, the lounge has good food and drinks and it does seem to have happy hour a lot. The staff was nice and friendly and answered any question I had. That being said, the continental breakfast that was provided was lacking, if you are going to put resort into your name the least you could do is have a good breakfast to go with it.

Needs to be updated but the staff was friendly. The room was clean. Nothing extraordinary. We had a side view of the water. The air conditioner made a terrible noise. Kept me awake. Cake on the breakfast bar was delicious.

This was the best place to stay because it was near so many of the things I wanted to do, including visiting some of the wineries. Parkshore was in a great price range for a 3-night stay. My room had a King-sized bed, with a balcony view of the beach and I could hear the waves at night. Room was clean and included a small refrigerator, perfect for leftovers from some of the great eateries close by or from the lounge downstairs. The staff was great--very helpful and friendly. I also ate at the on... Read more

Ok this place isn't bad for a hotel, but a resort it is not. It's a slightly above average hotel on a nice beach. For the price, could be a bit nicer. The pool area is nice, there's a restaurant/lounge with a breakfast buffet you can purchase, and the rooms are clean. The only thing that's above average is the beach, which IS nice, but it'd have to be pretty hot to be able to swim in that freezing water.

We opted for the beach view, we ended up spending about a hundred and fifty which included tax during this promotion. The View was unbelievable and if it wasn't for that we probably wouldn't have stayed there for that price. The air conditioning unit seemed to blow but not make it really cold. The lowest setting that it was capable of doing was only 66 degrees and even running it all day while we were out, the room was still not very cold when we got back. You are allowed to smoke on the back po... Read more

Clean, friendly place to stay. Convenient to all attractions. I left an item in my room and contacted them the evening I checked out. They mailed the item to me and I received it within 2 days. Now that's great service!

Parkshore Resort is conveniently located to Downtown Traverse City(about a $15 taxi ride... Cherry capital taxi ask for Malachy(trust me)) Sleeping Bear and many of the area's other wonderful attractions. The only snafu we experienced was with a safe that didn't open and the situation wasn't quite resolved. The food at the lounge was more on the traditional side, but the quality and taste was on par with the trendy local eateries. Save time for a walk on the beach, especially at sunset. I would ... Beautiful hotel with an incredible View of Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan. Very comfortable uncrowded rooms, at a reasonable price. Traverse City is an eclectic and pretty little city on the bay shore. Lots of restraints and shops of every description. We were only here overnight but would love to visit again.

We stayed here for 2 days based on availability of our timeframe and cost. To call it a Resort is a stretch at best. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was not ready for check-in when we arrived. We knew we were early and they offered to call us when it was done. We took advantage of the time and went into town for some lunch and shopping. The room itself was nothing spectacular. It was relatively clean but had the feeling of being closed up for a long time. We... Read more

The resort is right on the water and beautiful. We had our wedding on the gazebo in front of the water. It turned out beautiful! The room was decent. Bed was comfortable. The only complaint I have was a lady at the front desk wasn't doing her job well. We asked for a roll away bed which she said someone would bring up. We left for the day and came back that evening, and low and behold no bed. But I called down and a young man brought one up right away. He was polite. After we were married the ho... Read more

This hotel has the built in benefit of being on the bay. Great sunrises and sun sets ! The beach has PLENTY of beach chairs. The water is clear and a special blue color. The rooms balconies are large enough to sit out there. My only complaint are that the room keys seem to malfunction daily and the breakfast buffet is not that good.

Good location on the beach, rooms with water view were nice. Bathroom is updated, beds are comfortable but the pillows were very firm. Good for family vacation value, mini fridge in room. The furniture is dated and the fitness room doesn't exist. Breakfast was not included as listed in some advertising. They had lots of beach chairs and fire pits on the beach.

Overall, we enjoyed our five-night stay. We took advantage of the area and weather, and spent a limited time in the room, basically to sleep. This turned out to be a good thing because there was an overpowering odor in the room. Our family decided it best resembled burned bacon. We stayed five nights, and despite the housekeepers attempts to mask it with cleaning supplies and air fresheners, it smacked us in the face whenever we returned to the room. That really was the only downside of the st... Read more

There was a dog in the check in area, no one said hay that dog is friendly or the hotel dog. The hotel smells bad, not like pool like wet and the halls the second sells like someone drank to much and threw up. The rooms are hot and the air does not work if the door wall is open. And the microwave is super old. The wi fi sucks, can't watch Netflix in the bed room.

This was our fourth stay here at Parkshore. Love the beach, the restaurant/lounge has great food and wonderful service. It does get loud so be prepared. Rooms are OK, not very modern, furniture looks like it's the original stuff, lots of stains and scruffy. Views from beachside balconies are beautiful. Very peaceful. Try to get rooms high and away from fire pit or you will not be able to open your balcony door at night, unless you like smoke. This stay room service was not that great, didn't ge... Read more

Lovely beach, clean and friendly. Enjoyed the breakfast and pool during 6 night stay. Easy to find and near many amenities- some can be walked or biked. Ability to have a bonfire on the beach was so nice and the sunsets were amazing!

This is a really nice resort. The food in the restaurant was good and loved their happy hour. Our rooms were clean and beds comfortable. The pool area was clean. Beach was really nice. Employees very friendly. Close to other restaurants and not far from town. You can also buy wood from hotel and have a fire at night on beach.

We had a room that literally opened up right to the sandy beach! Loved it! Sweet little beach area PERFECT for kids to play and have fun! Great lake, service and comfy room! Our room even had a mini fridge which is so helpful when traveling with small kiddos.

Love this hotel and beach, Room very clean and spacious, all housekeeping were accommodating. Front desk staff very courteous and friendly. Beach was clean with some covered lounge chairs. Had a side view room which was as good as lakefront. Glad it had a fridge. This hotel is directly across from a campground, so you always have the smell of wood burning. You can also make bonfires on the beach

The hotel is clean and right on the lake. There is a nice beach area with chairs and there is a kayak rental right next door. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The only downside is there is one elevator for a pretty big place and we were on the 4th floor. Breakfast was not complimentary and was not that great for the money. Definitely a nice hotel for a family.

Met friends here for dinner and drinks. Server was struggling, drinks took forever and she was awkward like it was her first day or something. Beer was cold, so that was good. Perch dinner was below expectations, cold and soggy. Wings were very good, would order those again for sure. Pizza bread was tasty as well. There were several inebriated locals at the bar that entertained us for a while. There's just better places in my opinion.

The resort has a beautiful beach area. That is the only positive thing I have to say. As soon as we opened the door to the room it was horrible. From the room being full of flies, carpet dirty, ants, spiders in every corner, sheets with makeup on them, toilet paper stuck on the wall in the bathroom, air conditioner worked when it wanted too and no sleep for 2 days because the mattress was horrible. The list goes on. We were suppose to stay 3 nights but cancelled the third due to how bad the room... Read more

Stayed 2 nights for a wedding: Pros: fantastic views, nice beach, good wedding venue, indoor hot tub and pool, bar and dining on premises, counter height fridge in room including small freezer compartment, saw 2 grills on side deck (for guest's use I presume?). Queen sized beds instead of full size. Minor Cons: The hotel is not a chain, so there are a few peculiarities and older things that could use freshening. Lounge seems like a throwback in time with a DJ and all - does the music have ... Read more
