We stayed for the film festival in 2015. The park Place was the perfect location. A Comfortable hotel with all the amenities and right in the center of it all. Easy walking to all but one theatre and all the action. If you are coming for the festival this is the place to stay. The rooms are a little dated but very comfortable, clean and the service was fantastic.

I was pleasantly surprised when, at 9am the first morning, there was a knock at the door asking if we needed anything. I said more coffee and he brought them right away. He was cleaning the room down the hall when we went to breakfast but ours still wasn't clean when we returned. Left for the day and when we returned with only 20 minutes to get ready for dinner, it still wasn't clean. When we returned from dinner, all our towels were still wet and I had to call for new ones. And then run d... Read more

This is the first time I write a review about anything . This was by far the worst hotel I have ever visited . Don't let the building fool you . I found a good rate online for 129 a room , but when I called I was told our rooms were more expensive because they have a balcony / nice view and a double sink . Our rate was 169 /per night . We had a view of the parking lot , a balcony that fits 2 people max with no chairs to sit , and no double sink and a very uncomfortable and tiny bathroom . It w... Read more

The location is great but the place is old. Did not stay in the tower and it looks like they are updating those rooms. The other rooms have view of parking lot and buildings across the street and was still over 150 a night. Could not shut door in bathroom without having to squeeze against sink.

Horrible hotel!!! First arrived an hour and a half early asked if I could check in a bit early to freshen up for the graduation celebration that started at 2 pm. It was a three hour drive . Younger gal was happy to help to check and see when very rude other lady said we don't do early check-ins. Well little do they know that the group I was with arrived about an hour before me and were allowed to check in early two rooms at that. So whatever did not let it get me down cause I was there to celebr... Read more

I recently traveled to Traverse City for a business meeting and stayed at the Park Place Hotel, which was also the venue for the conference. The rooms, lobby and conference space were all neat and well attended to. Staff were extremely courteous and helpful. Another benefit is that it's walkable to the main strip of Traverse City that has a range of restaurants and stores (and just beyond that Lake Michigan). All in all, it was just a good quality stay.

I don't normally give bad reviews or negative feedback on post-visit surveys but this was my exception.. I get to travel for business often and occasionally for pleasure so I'm no stranger to hotel room.. Not to mention I worked in the resort business for 3 years as a concierge at 4 star resort. I must say this hotel was probably the biggest letdown I think I've ever experienced. To list a few things that rubbed me wrong was the poor service of the front desk from checkin to checkout. But that's... Read more

I have booked a West Wing room and was given a room without a balcony whilst my friends had one with a balcony. However, when booking I did not see the option to book one with a balcony seperately. The hotel is slightly dated however I can see that some refurb is going on. New chairs in the lobby area seem nice and I understood they are changing some rooms as well. Car park was great and convenient. The first day I took a shower. The bath filled completely up and the water was not draining. It t... Read more

Parkshore Resort is conveniently located to Downtown Traverse City(about a $15 taxi ride... Cherry capital taxi ask for Malachy(trust me)) Sleeping Bear and many of the area's other wonderful attractions. The only snafu we experienced was with a safe that didn't open and the situation wasn't quite resolved. The food at the lounge was more on the traditional side, but the quality and taste was on par with the trendy local eateries. Save time for a walk on the beach, especially at sunset. I would ... Staff was friendly no problems there. Nice view of the water. But the coffee make maker had not been cleaned old coffee still in the machine, 1 paper coffee cup with 4 lids. Bed was not comfortable. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub from the 70s that looked like it was setting on a shower pan which made it very difficult to climb into the shower for a 5'4" adult. The hair dryer was as old as the jacuzzi and did not hear well.... Won't be a choice for us again...

The Park Place Hotel, built in 1930, ought to be a classic oasis in a tourist town but falls a bit short. Let me first state that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our room with a magnificent view on the 7th floor. While I've seen other reviewers complaining about the small size of their rooms, ours was more than large enough to never feel crowded. We had a king-sized bed with plenty of room on all sides around it, a table and 2 chairs at the very large window, enabling us to comfortably eat a ... Read more

Snooty front desk, horribly small room with a broken seal in the window so it was hard to see out. The pictures on the walls had water damage. No snack vending machines and no coffee in the lobby. I guess this was a way to force people into room service or the restaurant. I just wanted a few chips! This place is trying to project luxury but it is an overpriced dump.

This hotel is in walking distance to almost everything! Just a block from Front Street where the restaurants are fantastic. The pool area and hot tub were very clean, but a little old school. The rooms were very nice, but small bathrooms. The staff was friendly and available. We would stay here again.

Stayed at this hotel for a relatives destination wedding. Hotel was in a GREAT location, withing walking distance to downtown area. Hotel itself was a little dated, but pretty cool. I really don't have anything bad to say about the place. Had a nice stay.

I normally have just two interactions with the front desk staff, check in and check out. Unfortunately I've have four interactions with the front desk staff at this hotel and all four have been unpleasant. Whether calling to confirm a reservation, check in, a problem with our room, or the cleanliness of the room, consistently unpleasant. The size of the spider and web in the corner at LEAST three feet across was the end all. We reduced our stay to a single night, and believe it or not the fr... Read more

The quality of the room, upkeep and maintenance are what I would expect from a motor lodge or motel. Peeling paint and wallpaper, moldy shower, broken windows, dust and dirt clearly present. While we paid $410 per night the rate should be less than $100 for this quality of hotel. The location is a redeeming feature.

Driving through TC and took a chance on this hotel. It's older and has charm. The room was spacious and very well decorated. Very clean. Loved our corner room with all the windows. Just a block away from all the downtown shops and restaurants. Walking distance to the water.

This older hotel is perfectly situated in downtown Traverse City. It has two restaraunts on site with room service as well if you are inclined to take advantage of. We however found it more exciting to take advantage of a number of quality restaurants within walking distance. We used the large pool and hot tub almost daily the week we stayed there . The pool is well maintained and they ask you go thru a locker room to shower first before using it. There is a lovely gift shop on site with man... Read more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights to attend a wedding. On the up side, it was clean, the staff was helpful, and you can easily walk downtown. However, the guest rooms, bathrooms, pool and fitness center need major updates. I stayed here as a kid with my parents 20 years ago and it still looks the same. The dark colored design theme and heavy fabrics made me feel like I was in my grandmother's house anticipating a faint scent of cat urine. It does not feel like a "treat" to ... Read more

The only thing good about this hotel is the location.. It is old and way over-priced. The bathroom is like a closet, the toilet was stained and the seat was chipped, the deck was rusty and gross, no mirrors in the room, I could go on and on...the staff was nice but that was about it. Do yourself a favor and stay at one of the many beautiful, newer hotels in TC!

The only thing good about this hotel is the location...the rooms need a serious face-lift, the bathroom was very small like a closet, the toilet seat was stained and chipped, the deck was rusty and gross...it will fall off soon...I could go on and on. Do your self a favor and stay at one of the many beautiful and newer hotels in TC! This was bad...real bad and I have stayed at a number of hotels all over Michigan and the world.
