We stayed for the film festival in 2015. The park Place was the perfect location. A Comfortable hotel with all the amenities and right in the center of it all. Easy walking to all but one theatre and all the action. If you are coming for the festival this is the place to stay. The rooms are a little dated but very comfortable, clean and the service was fantastic.

I was pleasantly surprised when, at 9am the first morning, there was a knock at the door asking if we needed anything. I said more coffee and he brought them right away. He was cleaning the room down the hall when we went to breakfast but ours still wasn't clean when we returned. Left for the day and when we returned with only 20 minutes to get ready for dinner, it still wasn't clean. When we returned from dinner, all our towels were still wet and I had to call for new ones. This is the first time I write a review about anything . This was by far the worst hotel I have ever visited . Don't let the building fool you . I found a good rate online for 129 a room , but when I called I was told our rooms were more expensive because they have a balcony / nice view and a double sink . Our rate was 169 /per night . We had a view of the parking lot , a balcony that fits 2 people max with no chairs to sit , and no double sink and a very uncomfortable and tiny bathroom . It w... Read more

The location is great but the place is old. Did not stay in the tower and it looks like they are updating those rooms. The other rooms have view of parking lot and buildings across the street and was still over 150 a night. Could not shut door in bathroom without having to squeeze against sink.

Horrible hotel!!! First arrived an hour and a half early asked if I could check in a bit early to freshen up for the graduation celebration that started at 2 pm. It was a three hour drive . Younger gal was happy to help to check and see when very rude other lady said we don't do early check-ins. Well little do they know that the group I was with arrived about an hour before me and were allowed to check in early two rooms at that. I recently traveled to Traverse City for a business meeting and stayed at the Park Place Hotel, which was also the venue for the conference. The rooms, lobby and conference space were all neat and well attended to. Staff were extremely courteous and helpful. Another benefit is that it's walkable to the main strip of Traverse City that has a range of restaurants and stores (and just beyond that Lake Michigan). All in all, it was just a good quality stay.

I don't normally give bad reviews or negative feedback on post-visit surveys but this was my exception.. I get to travel for business often and occasionally for pleasure so I'm no stranger to hotel room.. Not to mention I worked in the resort business for 3 years as a concierge at 4 star resort. I must say this hotel was probably the biggest letdown I think I've ever experienced. To list a few things that rubbed me wrong was the poor service of the front desk from checkin to checkout. I have booked a West Wing room and was given a room without a balcony whilst my friends had one with a balcony. However, when booking I did not see the option to book one with a balcony seperately. The hotel is slightly dated however I can see that some refurb is going on. New chairs in the lobby area seem nice and I understood they are changing some rooms as well. Car park was great and convenient. The first day I took a shower. The bath filled completely up and the water was not draining. It t... Read more

Cherry capital taxi ask for Malachy(trust me)) Sleeping Bear and many of the area's other wonderful attractions. The only snafu we experienced was with a safe that didn't open and the situation wasn't quite resolved. Staff was friendly no problems there. Nice view of the water. But the coffee make maker had not been cleaned old coffee still in the machine, 1 paper coffee cup with 4 lids. Bed was not comfortable. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub from the 70s that looked like it was setting on a shower pan which made it very difficult to climb into the shower for a 5'4" adult. The Park Place Hotel, built in 1930, ought to be a classic oasis in a tourist town but falls a bit short. Let me first state that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our room with a magnificent view on the 7th floor. While I've seen other reviewers complaining about the small size of their rooms, ours was more than large enough to never feel crowded. We had a king-sized bed with plenty of room on all sides around it, a table and 2 chairs at the very large window, enabling us to comfortably eat a ... Read more

Snooty front desk, horribly small room with a broken seal in the window so it was hard to see out. The pictures on the walls had water damage. No snack vending machines and no coffee in the lobby. I guess this was a way to force people into room service or the restaurant. I just wanted a few chips! This place is trying to project luxury but it is an overpriced dump.

The quality of the room, upkeep and maintenance are what I would expect from a motor lodge or motel. Peeling paint and wallpaper, moldy shower, broken windows, dust and dirt clearly present. While we paid $410 per night the rate should be less than $100 for this quality of hotel. The location is a redeeming feature.

Cons: older construction, small bathrooms, poor water pressure in the shower, no full length mirror in the rooms, no safes in the rooms. Ok i booked that hotel on my corporate travelling tool and did not check trip advisor. Good lord what a mistake. Escalator corridor paperwall and bedroom are from precommunism era. The bed has probably not been replaced recently either and the bathroom cant fit my 6.1ft 195 lbs person. The location is great though you are right downtown.

The Park Place Hotel is the perfect destination for day trips and walks around town. The historic lobby welcomes guests to step back in time. Enjoy the music and beverages on the top floor. A talented singer and pianist entertained guests at sunset and into the night. The hotel also features a restaurant. Walk to the shoreline or discover downtown shops and eateries. Rooms are comfortable and the staff is very welcoming. Plenty of parking on the grounds. So many wonderful wineries on the peninsu... Read more

Very gracious staff and helpful. Hotel is a bit dated, but enjoyed the "back in time" feel. The bed was very comfortable. Bathrooms are small and dated but clean. Centrally located in TC and can't beat the view from the top floor lounge!

Stayed at Park Place for 2 nights, very convenient only 5 minutes walk from the bay & main streets, friendly staff and large clean comfortable rooms. Large car parking and free wifi too. They offer free coffee throughout the day in reception which was a nice touch too.

Stayed just one night but will be back. We walked to downtown and enjoyed drinks without worrying about driving home. Close to shops and restaurants. The room was clean and the bathroom was fantastic. I forgot a toothbrush and the guy behind the front desk had a free one to give me. Will come back.

The hotel was great. It is located in the downtown area and in walking distance to shops and restaurants. We had a room with two queen beds and a roll out sofa. Our room was clean and very neat and the room service was super. We would definitely stay there again. I felt it was a bit pricey, but not out of hand.

Feces on the toilet seat! They changed my room and the new room had a sink that backed up! GM was terrible and unaccommodating! Location was good but this hotel is old and outdated. Paint was chipping from the ceiling.
