This hotel was not the caliber that we are used to from a Hampton Inn. The rooms were extremely small. There was no refrigerator in the room. And the breakfast buffet was not like the ones we have had at other Hampton Inns. Needless to say, we will never stay here again.

The TVC Hampton is "World Class" managed by an exceptional staff dedicated to great customer service. The location is excellent, near the lake, close to restaurants, parks and recreational activities. This is a perfect location for family and business.

Room and bathroom were very clean and well-insulated from noise throughout the hotel. Convenient entry points throughout. Excellent breakfast. First stayed as a couple, but we agreed it would be a good location to bring the family. Price point was perfrect for our mid-May stay. However, pricing in July is much higher and gave us second thoughts about booking with the family during that time.

A great value over the Memorial Day weekend. The breakfast was decent and liked the different choices. Since it was the holiday, the hotel was booked. The serving area was a little busy but I had no problem finding a spot to eat. Clean and for the value, I'd stay again!

We have stayed at many Hampton Inns. This one was pretty good, but a few things put my review at a 3 stars instead of higher. I'd actually go with 3.5 stars if I could, but TA doesn't let us split hairs. First of all, I do want to say that the entire hotel was very clean, which is my #1 most important quality, so thank you for that. Our room looked like it had been updated. Very nice wooden shutters on the windows, as well as a wooden desk/closet. Tile in the bathroom was newer, as was the sin... Read more

We usually stay at Hamptons on road trips (as opposed to local hotels of choice for destination trips) as we have found them to be consistent. This one instead had the smallest Hampton room we have encountered. No fridge, no microwave, no room for luggage. Reminded us of bottom deck on a cruise ship. Breakfast options limited compared with other HIs. Upon check in at 3:45 was told that I could not check I'm as our assigned room was not ready and would have to come back to pick up a key. ( A... We loved the convenience of being close to the front door but when breakfast came we could actually hear the beeping of the waffle machine. I liked having coffee made right outside my door (room 108) but it was strange having people eating a table literally less than 15 feet away.

This hotel was first class in service, cleanliness, and room decor. The only problem was that the room was TINY. I've stayed in Microtel rooms that were larger. I'm glad we only stayed one night. It was pricey, but maybe that was because of the upcoming Cherry Festival. Also the rooms did not have refrigerators in them--although I don't know where they would have squashed it in. Every function you need from a hotel is there at very high quality. Service, cleanliness, safety, convenience. The location has a spectacular view. If you expect big city business travel or an in-hotel restaurant, those items may feel like disappointments, but this is a medium sized small hotel in a relatively small city. I cannot for the life of me understand why this hotel was built the way it was built. It sits directly across from Grand Traverse Bay, but the hotel seems to ignore all of that. It's a regular Hampton Inn -- except that the rooms are smaller and I don't believe there was a tub in the bathroom. I had a view of the parking lot. Hotel staff was rude. I've been spoiled by Hilton. I've come to expect certain things and this is not it. I grade Hilton hotels a notch or two below Las Vegas. Vegas is the best,. Hilton is very good and this hotel has bad customer service. It started on the phone when the guy at the desk was yelling, sounded bothered and generally annoyed. Stayed here during Cherry Festival. This hotel is very average. Everything is done well. No complaints. It is just that nothing is done above average. First, the rooms. No mini-fridge. This is not a nice Hilton property. As soon as we walked in we could see that the property is old and dirty. The carpets and walls were filthy. We paid for a king room that was the tiniest room I have ever seen. That wouldn't have been so bad, if the bed had been better. It looked like someone jumped on it and it broke. I found my room to be very clean and modern. Liked the shower, bathroom etc... It's tough that the hotel is not on the beach, but it should be apparent when booking the hotel. Getting across the street to the beach is something you have to do in a car or you're in for a long walk. The thing that I did not like about the hotel was the temperature of both the pool and hot tub. They both were extremely cold and I'm not necessarily that picky. Customer service was great.

I am a Gold/Diamond Hilton Honors traveler and have always found Hampton Inns to be reliably good, clean and provide consistent service and accommodations. This one was a major disappointment!!

Check in time of 4 pm is not realistic. How can no rooms be available until 4. I have never experienced this at other Hampton inn's. Excuse that room was being cleaned was a lie. It does not take two hours to clean a room. I tried checking in at 1 and then at 3. Did not get room until 4,

I came to the Upper peninsula to see the colors and visit apple festival. The hotel was in the middle of the areas I wanted to visit. Everyone was very helpful with directions to shopping areas. They were very patient and kind.

Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast and treats throughout the day. Nice decor. Rooms near stairwell exits an be noisy due to slamming doors. When we were moved to a central location of the building, sleep quality could be moved from average to very good.

We stayed here one night on points during our mini-fall color tour. I felt inclined to leave a review because we almost didn't stay here based on a poor review that I read. But, it turned out to be a good Hampton Inn. I'm not sure about the recent bad review. Maybe that person stayed before a remodel.... I stay at hotels regularly for business and I would say this is your typical Hampton Inn. Breakfast was a little crowded on Saturday, but they have a beautiful picture window overlooking the wat... This hotel was an excellent value for our money. It was clean, updated, and friendly staff. The breakfast was actually very good. Although the rooms are very small they have plenty of storage space and a VERY clean. The hotel is located in a convenient location right across from beach. I'd definately stay here again!

New energy saver installed for heating-is motion sensing so when you exit your room the heat shuts off-this means you will always come back to a cold room-and when your trying to sleep it gets real cold-then after you fiddle around with the temp control it will blast on very nosily and intense then shut off-really an awful system. We were focused the whole stay trying to attain and maintain a comfortable temperature. Also the breakfast is so processed and artificial tasting-why bother to put o... Read more

The hotel staff was very friendly and it's conveniently located right across from the water and a park which is nice. Downfall is the rooms don't face the water so it kinda stinks. We didn't try the breakfast so I can't comment on that. The rooms are rather small but are nice however they should add mini fridges and maybe a microwave they would fit against the wall next to the television. We could hear the noise from the road so I wouldn't recommend staying in an end room that sits closer to the... Read more

Spent one night here in mid October. The hotel room and grounds were clean and the bed was comfortable. The location to downtown and the lake was convenient. If your just passing through this is good place to spend the night!

We had a great stay at the Hampton. We like the brand and always we get a clean room and good breakfast. This stay met our expectations. Breakfast was above average. Omlettes and Turkey sausage one day and then scrambled eggs and french toast sticks. All hot plus cereal, fruit, waffles, pastry, etc. Room was up to date and bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. 3 miles from downtown. Very helpful staff.

We only stayed one night and didn't spend much time in our room but here are my observations: We checked in online and changed form of payment upon arrival. This seemed to confuse the desk clerk and it took he and his supervisor several minutes to fix. Once we got in to our room I was pleased at how clean it was. The duvet on the bed had a small stain on it. The door that covers the A/C controls was broken off and hanging from the unit. We were getting ready for the evening and discovered that t... Read more

We stayed here on a recent holiday to the area. Room was nice, breakfast good. The best part about staying here was that it was easy to jump on our bikes and use the city bike trail close by. We also liked that we could see a slice of the water from the bay from our room. One negative was how crowded the eating area was for breakfast. We actually took our food and ate outside on the bench in front of the hotel, that was okay as it had a view of the water across the street. There actually was a p... Read more

Had a very pleasant stay, very relaxing. Very nice hotel in a very nice resort area. Breakfast was great and the dining area was very comfortable. Be back in the spring. The only issue the rooms could use a refrigerator.

We had a room with two queen beds. We stayed here one night and there were three adults sharing the room. The room was clean, but so tight we could hardly move around. Getting in and out of this property is also challenging during peak commute times. Breakfast was Hampton Inn "ho hum". Really, there is nothing stellar about this property or the staff that I can report or recommend.

My business travels took me to Traverse City and I was very pleased with my experience at the Hampton. The staff was helpful in answering every question that I put to them. I was especially pleased with the breakfast offerings and the cleanliness of that area.

Great location, very close to the wineries on the Leelanau Peninsula. Right on the bay, close to the downtown area of Traverse City. Plenty of restaurants in the area. Staff was very courteous and respectful. Complimentary breakfast was very good, with a great selection to choose from. Rooms were very nice and clean, very comfortable. All around great experience during a wonderful weekend.

If you book on Priceline or another discount website be prepared to be shoved into the least desirable room next to a stairwell. Next trip here won't be spent at this motel. We were very disappointed in this motel.

We love Hampton Inn's for the waffles! The server was rude and unwilling to help out with a waffle iron that was sticking so badly that they were being ripped apart while everyone was trying to get them out. Other than that, wonderful stay.

We used this hotel for a quick stay near the airport. Close to downtown businesses and restaurants. Rooms were nicely laid out with high quality furniture. Very comfortable beds and a clean bathroom. Staff helpful. Great breakfast.
