Always a pleasant experience at a Hampton. Never been disappointed at any of them. Had business in the area all week, stayed 4 nights and loved the place. Close to many restaurants for dinner. And close to highway also.

Clean, crisp sheets. Plenty of fluffy pillows. Hot coffee in the Lobby. Cookies in the evening. Lots of places to eat nearby. (Did you know that Culver's has great Fish-n-Chips!!) Simple, filling, yummy breakfast. Danish, muffins, bagels, waffles and fruit. Hot items change daily......Western omelets, scrambled eggs, bacon.... Juices and more hot coffee! Close to the Toll Road and Shipshewana. And fishing at Royer Lake :-)

Online check in was great, bed was so comfortable. All bedding clean especially the top comforter. Hotel was quiet. Did hear a dog bark but only for a short time, assuming it was a "service dog". Stopped before I called front desk.

We were looking for something nearby downtown Sturgis. This place was clean and spacious with comfortable beds. I appreciated that a breakfast is included. We also used the fitness room. Only one treadmill, but other equipment was available too.

Hotel is being renovated and new style was excellent. Room was quiet and comfortable, service was good, and breakfast in the morning got our day on the right start. Will stay here again when visiting the Shipshewana area.

The woman checking us is was very nice and recommended we stay on the 3rd floor since those bathrooms were recently renovated. The beds were comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was decent. FYI, not all the food/coffee is on the same stand. Cut up fruit is around the corner where the juice is and coffee is on a different stand. Didn't check out the pool or workout room so not sure how nice these are. There is NOT a full length mirror in the room, which most hotels usually have.

I didn't actually stay at this hotel because about 15 minutes before I was due to arrive they called my husband (not me?) and told him they didn't have a room for me. This was despite the fact that I'd made a reservation, with a credit card. I had been on the road for hours and had three kids who needed to get to bed and it was 8:30 p.m. The hotel person was useless in trying to find another hotel for us and there isn't much nearby. We ended up 30 minutes down the road in Elkhart but only becaus... Read more

I have stayed at this hotel on a couple of occasions. The recent renovations are nice (note that only the 1st and 3rd floors are complete). I think it odd that after a complete bathroom renovation there are NO towel bars anywhere. However, there is the standard note about hanging up your towels to show you will reuse them. Humorous! The breakfast is typically good but this trip it was lacking. Overall, the best place on stay in the area.

I was in the area for work and we had 3 rooms we were checking into. Before arrival I received a receipt which was weird, but called and the hotel said that the reservation was fine. Upon Arrival I had reserved a room with 2 queen beds, and the hotel gave me a room with a king bed. During the stay the shower leaked! The caulking on the tub was visibly broken and when I said something to the hotel they said I wasnt putting the curtain in the right spot. I put the curtain against the tub with t... Read more

Great hotel for a quick overnight or an extended stay. Clean large rooms, clean bathrooms, extra warm pool. This was an overnight stay for us but we plan to return. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Breakfast is included but go early god things don't last.

The room was clean, the staff was very helpful. The breakfast choices weren't great if you are at all concerned about health and the fitness room could use some serious upgrades. All in all though it's a great hotel.

We were so impressed. We chose this hotel because of its proximity to Michiana Exposition Center. We planned months in advance to attend Horse Progress Days. We go every year . It was a 4 hour drive from our home. I made the reservation well in advance. We were considering many options, Bed and breakfast or generic chain hotel. When I called to inquire I was delighted by the friendly helpful Sonya. We made our reservations in early April for an busy expo in July! When we arrived every thing ex... Read more

A bad experience from start to finish! We asked for a roll away cot when we booked the room and were given one upon check in but was charged $15. I was not told of this when making the reservation so the clerk did comp it to $10. (I later found out after returning home that it was supposed to be free but I was never reimbursed). When we got to our room there was soap left in the shower from the previous guest which I found disgusting! I wasn't confident everything was clean. The hotel smelled f... Read more

I was hoping for a true "Hilton Experience" here, but my wishes fell short. As a HHonors member, I had faith that I'd be more comfortable than it turned out I was. Though we both made the best of it and remained cordial, there was palpable tension between the woman at the desk and me from the beginning: starting when I was brusquely "summoned" to the desk at check-in. Apparently, I had been sitting in the lounge too long (15 minutes, while waiting for the 3 PM check-in time? Pardon ME.) She aske... Read more

This is an older Hampton Inn but has been well maintained. It is very close to the Indiana Turnpike. My wife and I frequent the Hampton Inn chain and this one maintains the Hampton Inn standards. Being an older Hampton Inn, don't expect the "bells and whistles" of a new Inn.

The Hampton Inn, Sturgis/Lagrange was a very nice and comfortable hotel. It is a convenient to southern Michigan and northern Indiana cities. OK, that's about all I have to say about the Hampton Inn. :-)

My family was traveling cross country and decided to book a room in Sturgis for the night. Upon arrival, the woman at the front desk was very pleasant and accommodating. Our room was on the first floor very close to the front desk, which meant a little more noise that's usual, but it wasn't too bad. The bathroom area in the room appeared to have been renovated recently and was very attractive. Unfortunately, the room reeked of mildew, which was blowing from the air conditioner. This hotel is probably the best choice for the area. Not much there, and it's close to the highway. I had no complaints. Check out took a while, but I had a confusing situation with 2 different cars for the week stay. But everything else was great. I recommend this location to people traveling in the area..............................

Room was a 3, Beds were a 3 and cleanliness a 4. However, I didn't know Hampton Inn was going to bunk me with an old man. My room was attached to his and the only thing that kept us apart was a thin locked door. His tv was not loud, but I could hear every word. Every time he got up, sat down, moved, I could hear that too. Bodily functions, yep. If you decide to stay here bring your ear plugs... .

Our room had a comfy, newer bed with all clean linens upon check in. The room itself was clean and well maintained, and the housekeeping staff kept very clean for our 3 day stay. They have a good breakfast. It is convenient to the toll road, close to restaurants, and quaint downtown areas in Michigan and Indiana. You can't beat this in Sturgis!

My husband and I often stay at Hampton Inns for getaways. They are very clean and consistent in services and amenities. This location seemed to need some additional staff. Staff at check in were unorganized and were not able to suggest local restaurants or sites of interest that they would recommend for tourists to see. Our room was clean and comfortable with some road noise at night. Our breakfast was good as usual at Hampton Inn. Again, the front desk staff needs additional training to make ou... Read more

We were driving to Chicago and decided this would be a good stopping point. We had stayed before and the experience was poor but I thought I would give them a second chance, my mistake. The Hot Tub was not working again the front desk person didn't seem to care and the breakfast? the following shows that owners can cut costs by lowering the quality of the breakfast. Next time we will drive to South Bend and stay at a Marriott property

The young woman at the desk was very friendly and we felt welcomed after a very long drive. There were fresh baked cookies in the lobby and coffee, tea and cocoa at all times. I made cocoa but the water wasn't very hot. The room was very clean and welcoming. In the morning the breakfast buffet was very complete with waffles, hard boiled and scrambled eggs, fresh fruit and cereals among other items. The same problem though as the night before. Overall a nice stay. It was football weekend for Notre Dame (yes 45 miles away) but the Hotel was still booked solid. All that the staff was still friendly and helpful. The AC unit was kind of noisy which is not uncommon. The breakfast area is set up kind of awkwardly. I didn't find the fruit and Juice machine until I was ready to leave. They have a big sign, I just wasn't looking for a sign. The hotel is right off of the Indiana turnpike. I think the hotel is about 50-100 feet on the Michigan s... Read more

I have stayed at this Hampton Inn last year, and find it to be about the same as last time. My only complaints are that the faucet in the bathroom was not secured to the counter top, the pool was colder this time than last, and the hot tub was overly hot and the waters so rough, you could not avoid getting splashed in the face, and the computer chair would not retain the full up position. Overall, the breakfast was good, beds were comfortable, and everything was clean. This was room 327, the ... Read more

Black water came out of the faucet in both the sink and shower for the first 3 minutes it was turned on. Facility was not clean and construction created difficulty with parking & hotel entrance. The remainder of the facility was fine, but it needs to be closed during remodeling if not up to Hampton standards.

Price was right for a ND game being the prices in South Bend. Raining when we showed up so there were buckets in lobby to catch the leaking water. 1st room had no smoke detector so the helpfull staff move us to another room which smelled of cigarette smoke. Finally was moved to a third room and got a price reduction. For the complementary breakfast they need a second waffle iron and more help on game day weekends. We got two rooms. One was ok; the other smelled of cigarettes, terribly. We were given a $10 refund. So much for 100% guarantee. At the risk of sounding snobbish, I wasn't greeted as a diamond Hilton Honors member and wasn't offered water, snacks or points. It's not a major deal. All in all, the hotel is ok. We are HHonors members and always stay at Hampton Inn because of the quality of the facilities, the staff and especially the beds, as my husband and I both have bad backs. This Hampton was undergoing renovations, but there was no note on it when I booked through my HHonors phone app. We were there on a Saturday night/Sunday morning, so there was no work going on, but we couldn't use the side entrance where our room was, because that end of the building was wrapped in plastic, and we could only ...
