I've stayed at this HGI 15 or so times for business over the last two years, and it's required by my employer. Overall it is a decent HGI but falls short on occasion. Once I had someone enter my room as I was working at my desk (front desk assigned someone to it after I'd been there an hour). Scary event for a few seconds. Food is usually ok, but a colleague of mine sent back 3 consecutive baked chicken dinners one stay because they were quite undercooked. Elevators are out of commission more ... Read more

I stayed here on business for 1 night. This hotel is a typical Hilton Garden Inn. The lobby was contemporary and inviting. There were free cookies and water upon arrival. Check in and check out were friendly and fast. It has a bar area that was fairly busy. My room was clean and quiet, except for the a/c which was extremely loud when it cycled on and off (room 227). My room had 2 beds and they were double beds, not queen beds. There was a breakfast buffet for purchase. It wasn't fre... Read more

I travelled to Detroit for a family event. This hotel is an excellent choice as it is conveniently located by several highways. Parking is free which is great as I am tired of being nickeled and dimed ad nausea. The Lobby is immaculate; the front-desk staff appropriately attentive and friendly. I can't say enough about how good the food was and if you stay here - you must have the grilled chicken salad - it was perfect. The wait staff is very friendly appropriately attentive. I do wish t... Enjoyed my stay while in the area. The hotel was close to where I needed to be, easy for Uber to fine and the staff was wonderful. The food was good, I was disappointed there was gratuity and a delivery charge added to the room service bill. Breakfast had a great selection, reasonably priced and was filling. This is a very good hotel for a business trip. The breakfast is good, if not somewhat confusing, as some of it seems self-service, while there are also simultaneously servers who want to bring you things. I chose this hotel because of the location and the Hilton brand. The staff seemed to always be on top of everything, very friendly, and accommodating. The free shuttle really came in handy. The bar has a great depth of options and the breakfast was satisfying. The maid service daily seemed to go beyond what I would expect from a hotel in this price range. Easy check-in. Great staff especially Tiffnani at front desk. One of the great benefits were free parking as you know most hotels charge and the closeness was excellent. The lobby was pristine, clean and modern. The workout room had the elliptical machines which all I was interested in. The cleaning staff was nice and always had a smile on their face. Inaccuracy in reservation, very noisy, dirty rooms. While the staff attempted to resolve our concerns, they were not diligent in doing so. The room we stayed in was very dirty, stains on the floor, fabric falling apart on the chair, wall paper peeling, and the shower curtain, which was a tan color was stained red at the bottom. The elevator doors, which had a gold finished were covered with dirt, watermarks and grease stains. Not a pleasant hotel.

I visited my elderly mother for Thanksgiving this year and decided to stay at the Hilton in Southfield which is down the street from my mother's. The staff was phenomenal!!! Service, quality, and professionalism at a great price!!!!
