Still under construction but you can already see some improvements. Staff and lobby were very helpful. This property was under renovation but you can definitely see some improvements. Rooms still need major upgrades.

Dull and boring would be an adequate description of the rooms. Narrow rooms and a rather small bath room doesn't make it any better.The reception area is quite OK and the restaurant is hopping, never seen so many people eating dinner at HGI. Service is nice and the staff is trying their best.

Stayed here one night to take an early flight out. Clean hotel. Good food. Good happy hour. Shuttle started at 4am to the airport, which makes it very convenient. Staff was very friendly. Rooms could use some updates but not terrible. I would recommend.

Beautiful lobby, lots of amenities. My room was clean and well maintained; no musty odors. Comfortable bed. Staff was attentive and responsive. The breakfast isn't complimentary but it is more like a restaurant than a breakfast bar and it wasn't outlandishly priced; food was great. I would stay here again if I'm traveling to Detroit.

The main redeeming factor of my visit at this hotel was the truly fabulous breakfast service that was included in my reservation. The staff with whom I interacted during breakfast were fantastic. Just enjoyed a wonderful stay here and found much more than I would have expected from an airport hotel. All staff were so gracious, helpful and friendly and made us feel at home. This is a good hotel to choose for an early morning flight out of Detroit. Regular shuttle service that starts early, and good value for the Park & Stay program. If you have time for their breakfast it is nicely done.

We chose this hotel mainly because of the proximity to DTW since my dad was flying out from there. The staff was absolutely wonderful. They were fun, funny, helpful and pleasant. The room was as expected--clean & crisp is the best way I can explain it. The food in the restaurant was yummy. We didn't try out any other amenities (pool, fitness, or shuttle service, etc.)

When I checked in, Ahmed was very nice, courteous, and helpful. Actually, every time I saw him during my stay, he was always the same way. He is definitely an asset to the hotel! On other occasions while passing the front desk, another lady was there. We were in town for a wedding and needed a room close to the airport since we were flying out the following day. Staff was friendly and efficient; room was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend this property. Van was ready to leave for airport when we came downstairs and the desk clerk immediately paged the driver asking him to wait for us. That's a first in all of my hotel stays as I have traveled.

The hotel staff and accommodations were good. The pool is small and has a maximum depth of about 3 feet, but the area was clean. It always bugs me that hotels charge for a "continental" breakfast, but this one also had hot foods like eggs, bacon, etc. Thing to note: There is a Hampton Inn right next door - they share a driveway. So if a free breakfast and lower prices are a priority, you might consider moving next door to this one.

Rooms were clean, everything was good except we were not informed about the construction at the hotel and they were using guest rooms next to ours for public bathrooms. This was a little creepy and loud. Did not know when we checked we would be right in the middle of it all!

Staff for both the front desk and meals was very welcoming and helpful. Worst thing about this location is the pathetically slow elevators, meant for nursing homes. I hated that the toilet seat would not stay up. I know this is by design but HAS to change! No complaints. This hotel is very close to the airport, clean and pleasant, with friendly staff. I was out and about for most of my weekend stay, but the room was nice and all my interactions with staff were positive. I would gladly stay here again.

The staff at this hotel are friendly and helpful. The airport shuttle was very quick to pick up. Breakfast was excellent. However, This hotel is a little run down. The Internet signal was very weak. The room didn't cool to below 70. The bed was as hard as a rock, even when set to its softest setting.

Conjure up your image of a hotel net the Detroit Airport and be amazed, this place had great property and grounds, for some reason the hallways looked dates; however, the room was fine. AC and WiFi was great. Breakfast three mornings and dinner one night was great and the real plus for all of that was the people from the front desk to breakfast to dinner they were friendly, responsive and caring. This hotel is super-clean and comfortable, and the staff is pleasant and helpful. The shuttle to DTW runs 24/7. Breakfast was varied and good (no plastic eggs...yes, I'm looking at YOU, sister property Hampton Inn), although the server was so slow that I never really interacted with her - just ended up leaving ample $ on the table to cover my cheque.

Flight was delayed and I needed an overnight hotel. I Booked through my Hilton app and called the hotel for the shuttle, it was there within 15 minutes. The hotel is about 2 miles from the airport, great location. If this happens again, I will rebook here.

I always like to stay on the top floor of hotels. This hotel had booked me on the 2nd floor and then I used the "choose your room" function to override their selection. Probably not the best idea. I moved to the top floor (6th) where the water pressure was very low. That could be why they put me there in the 1st place. Avoid the 6th floor and you'll be satisfied with this hotel.

I came here after a horrible stay down the street at the Wyndham. It was a breath of fresh air to finally go into a hotel that has standards. Great staff, friendly, everything that a hotel should be. A fun experience would be to go to Wyndham garden hotel and come over to the Hilton garden inn. You will see two very opposites and It will make appreciate good service and a clean hotel.

My wife and I always stay at the Hilton Gardens when flying from Detroit Metro. Driving from a city 90 miles away, you never know what problems you may encounter on the "1st leg" of your trip. Arriving the night before takes the pressure off and allows for a nice relaxing experience. The hotel is clean, the bed comfortable and the food at the restaurant is very good and affordable. If you have read my other posts about HGI the rooms are consistent which I like. We order two beers and 3 pizzas ( they are small) and the bill was over $60 which is way to expensive and a rip off. The pizza wasn't even that good. But the rooms were just fine. I like the HGI.

Had to attend to personal business and needed a hotel with airport shuttle, breakfast & on site restaurant. This hotel delivered all of the above & more. Check-in was made smooth & easy by Ahmed, Joseph & Kathi. The breakfast staff--Darreus, Tiara, Frances and Lisa-were very attentive. The dinner crew-Shelby, Michelle, James, Chris, Leon, and Matt-were just as good. The menu was throughly explained in detail, and they were apologetic about running out of catfish:). Not a bad place, but not a good one either. Check-in was VERY slow. The desk staff seemed lost when checking in two guys ahead of us that took waaaaaaaaaaaay too long. Air conditioning unit was a bit annoying... it was either blasting us with cold air, or it was off and letting the room get stuffy. Nothing fancy but its comfortable, close to the interstate 94, lots of places to eat, and parking is ample. Another Hilton is next door. The king room is spacious and the bed is adjustable but I liked it firm so I didn't change it. The staff was friendly and I felt safe staying there Be sure to GPS directions as there are u-turns to made. Overall, it was satisfactory and I recommended it especially if you want to be close to the airport.

Have stayed here previously and will again. No surprises, just the way I like it! Seconds from I-94 and minutes from Detroit Metro Airport Buffet breakfast is unbelievable for $10! Airplane maintenance issues caused me to be stranded overnight in Detroit. This was the closest hotel I could find to the airport, everything else was booked. I was pleasantly surprised with my stay here. The staff & customer service make this place great. We stayed here while attending the Detroit Jazz Festival. It is about a 25 minute drive to downtown Detroit. This location was quiet and less expensive than downtown options. The hotel is easily accessible from the highway. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I would look to stay here again!

I am loyal to the Hilton Brand. I recently booked a night for an early morning flight out of the airport. Upon check-in, I was informed that I cannot use the park/fly option because I booked using point. To me, you should not be penalized for being a loyal brand user. Really Hilton? Might want to check that policy... seems ridiculous to me. I will consider a different hotel next time.

The mattress in my room was so old and worn out that I kept rolling down hill into the giant bowl that had formed in the middle. When the staff was informed, they assumed I was too stupid to adjust the bed (because 3 different people explained it to me even though I had already informed them of my efforts in that regard), and did not make any efforts to repair or replace the mattress.

As with other Hilton Garden Inn the lobby is very open, airy and aesthetically appealing. Fresh coffee was set up when I arrived and check in was smooth. Not a bad place for a layover. Checkin was fast and friendly. The room is standard HGI--not fancy but clean and comfortable. The building is well maintained. This is a hotel that should be around $100/night. At $150 I felt ripped off for the overall quality and what was a bad night's sleep. Front desk staff was very nice and efficient. Wasn't told about any extras offered in the lobby or breakfast and saw some empty containers in the lobby later that night.

The staff was courteous, friendly and professional. The rooms were clean and appliances worked. The breakfast was prepared and presented well. Some mechanical issues nothing major. The bathroom has no power vent. The table we sat at for breakfast was wobbly. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Wonderful hotel experience.

The wi-fi signal does not reach room 536. The staff tried to reset the router but to no avail. When I asked for a credit for the lack of wifi ( I had to use my data from my phone) they politely ignored me. I have stayed here several times in the past, but will be reluctant to do so in the future.

I am a frequent guest at this property and rarely have any problems. Once I was seated the server forgot about me due to her engaging another customer in lengthy conversation at the bar. I had to flag down another server to get my meal and also disappointed in the sauce of my chicken wings. It was suppose to be bourbon sauce but was a tangy fruity base. We had to spend the night near the airport and we chose this hotel due to reviews. It was clean, comfortable, and the staff were really friendly and accommodating. We had a small issue with the adjustable pressure bed not adjusting, but the front desk explained how to fix the issue and offered us Hilton Honors points for the trouble.

People here were all very friendly. My room was modern and clean. The fitness room was well kept and very clean. Lobby area was clean, and very good variety of places to sit and visit with friends. Breakfast area was also very friendly.

I arrived later than expected. Front desk was very friendly and greeted me with a smile even though it was almost midnight when I checked in. I did the Fly and Stay package which included 8 nights at the local Qwik Park. Front Desk went over what I needed to do and when I was planning to head over. He answered my questions. Room was clean and spacious. Will stay again.

Everything was great (minus one tiny thing..) Our air conditioner made a loud noise, so we weren't able to use it at night, and we were pretty warm. However, the couple with us liked it warm, so it worked out for them ;) I would definitely stay here again! Close to restaurants, gas stations and 5 mins from our car rental. The staff was so nice!! Hilton always does great job. Arrived at 730pm, cookies and drinks offered. I needed a shuttle to Airport to pick up husband and it was fast to drop off and pick up. Bar service was not good at all but Jen apologized. Breakfast was great and Lisa and Gary took great care of us. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Great job Hilton.

Nice hotel, very close to Metro Airport. Very clean, but the most important is the hotel staff: very friendly and helpful. They even picked me up from car rental and took me to the hotel in order I do not have to give my car back very early in the morning. Definitely worth of staying!

My husband and I stayed here when we were in town one night for our first Wings game at the Joe (had to make it before it's gone)! Thought the staff was very helpful, shuttle was great to and from the airport. Room was OK, older hotel, could use some updating. In general an average hotel, at a relatively fair cost. I'm sure it is on the update soon list, as they have been doing many throughout the US.

Last Sunday evening we checked into the Hilton Garden Inn at the Detroit Airport. To our delight, the hotel common areas and our room was clean. And the room was quiet -- we did not hear a sound from next door, from any planes flying about nor from the air conditioner. This is a typical Hilton Garden Inn with nice clean comfortable rooms located close to the airport as well asa few restaurants and gas stations. The hotel restaurant not only serves the scrumptious Hilton Garden Inn breakfast but is also ipen for dinner and room service which is great!. The hotel airport shuttle makes it a very convenient stop over.

Good hotel if you need to stay near an airport to catch an early flight. There are a lot of options and the stay and park package with Kwik park (max 7 day) has good value. My disappointment was that the restaurant does not open till 6:30am. Anyone with an early flight will need to find other options. The hotel wall is thin and you can hear other guests next to you. Good hotel for being near the airport and does the job. There is a hotel shuttle to the airport, but did not use.

We stayed here as we were in town for a friend's wedding. The hotel was clean, the staff was very accommodating, professional and nice. The price was great. We would stay here again and highly recommend to anyone.

We stayed here primarily since it was 5 minutes from the car rental location and the airport. The lobby of the hotel was nicely decorated and welcoming as was the staff. The hallways and room,while clean, were a bit dated especially compared to other properties. The beds and linens were comfortable and the room was spacious. This hotel is across the street from the airport and rooms facing the runway can be noisy.

This hotel was perfect for weekend at Michigan football game. Close to airport. 20 min from Ann Arbor. Exvellent value. Clean comfortable very reasonable price. Excellent ala cart breakfast. Would stay here every time in area.

100% satisfaction, location is great. Staff helps. Parking is next door and they will pick you up from the lot to the hotel. Shuttle is fast. Breakfast is good and fast. Omelets and all. Coffee and cookies at night.

We booked the hotel as Delta has altered flights and we may well have missed connection,so booked this hotel. Room is clean. Service is amazing especially when the toilet and dryer broke. As soon as I called the reception they sent a maintenance guy to fix toulet. Replaced the non working hair dryer. Staff are very friendly and accommodating

Stayed here the night before and after a recent trip to Europe. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room was clean and quiet. Bed comfortable. Food was of good quality. Enjoyed the buffet breakfast, which had lots of choices, including cooked-to-order eggs. Airport shuttle available. Used Qwik Park for long term parking and got 8 nights free with hotel reservation.

This was my first & last time i will ever stay at this Hilton Garden Inn at Detroit Metro Airport. Because of location & noise from airplanes. Noise was EXCESSIVE. Parking was ok, but this hotel is located at the end of the street.

The staff was so awesome in helping me find a porter at t he airport at 4AM in the morning. I forget her name, but she made it happen after 30 minutes of being on the phone. The shuttle was easy to hop on and hop off at the airport, but I did need some help since I had lots of luggage. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the dinner at night was good.

Great place to crash for the night before travel. It isn't sketchy or scary, very clean, and great service. Rooms were very cleaned and well maintained, and we heard very little jet noise. Will stay there again.

we discovered that taking an early flight from DTW can be a much better experience by staying at the Hilton Garden Inn and using their shuttle in the early morning and taking advantage of their Park and Fly rate. We got a good night's sleep and took the 4:45 am shuttle, giving us a stress-free early morning experience.

Amazing staff! I never really expect airport hotels to have very good service, always a little rough because of the short stays. We were over for a weekend for a hockey tournament and were very pleasantly surprised with our service. I have not had this level of service in hotels in hot vacation destinations that should have it! They were pleasant and went out of the way to help us out with whatever we needed.

This was a good experience. The breakfast was above expectations. The room was nicely laid out. The staff gave excellent service. There was some airplane noise, but not enough to bother. Housekeeping skipped our room one morning and never returned. Later in the day nobody was available to service the room. The front desk was great and did what they could.

Great staff, great sleep. Everyone from the front desk to housekeeping was pleasant. I had a flat at check out and one of team members was leaving work. He stopped and assisted us. I will choose them again.
