Hotel is brand new and clean. Other hotels around here are old and smelly since i checked most of them out since I stayed here for a work assignment for one month. Get a room in the back to overlook the pier. Will stay here next time too. Short drive to downtown too for local dining. Try vintage tavern.

We stayed for 2 nights in a whirlpool suite. This hotel was opened in January of this year. It was very clean and modern. Before we even arrived the manager Lee was amazing. All of the other staff we encountered were also great. They ley us bend the rules and swim after 2300 :) Overall a great hotel!

This room was very nice and roomy, and check in and check out both, was a breeze. Desk personnel were extremely friendly. Breakfast was wonderful and had a great variety of choices. Even though I did not use the pool, it did look very inviting and well as the work out room. The hotel itself seemed very quiet as it does sit back off the main drag. The next time I am in Port Huron, this is where I will stay! What a great stay!

I'm just home from a stay at this brand new hotel in Pt. Huron. It's so nice to see a good hotel open there so there's a few more choices. For those who know the area, it's right beside Bob Evan's. The rooms are quite nice. They are a bit spartan, but I like the Scandinavian look. I decided that there are just a few things needed to make it perfect: - the rooms need a few pieces of artwork . . . something geometric and subtle to go with the decor, but would warm the place up a bit. - As well, ... Perhaps the nicest of the hotel choices on this exit, it sits all by its lonesome self off a very large parking area. Water view is an abandoned marina off the Black River, would I pay extra to look at that? NO!!! The rooms are the Scandanavian Ikea style, very nice, had no issues with theprivacy screens or with the fact the suite did not have a separating wall. The only issue was trying to find food at that exit not being all that familiar with the area.

I was in Port Huron for a quick overnight to pick up a new puppy at a nearby breeder in the morning. The staff was friendly, and offered me a list of restaurants in the area, but I found yelp more helpful. As far as the hotel went, it was perfect! The room was well appointed with a comfortable workstation/desk along with a lounge chair, a mini fridge, and very cool in-window shades that let light in, or kept it out, without the typical old dreary curtains. Everything was modern, and well tho... Read more

The new standard for the chain. New modern hotel with spacious funky decor and rooms. The usual breakfast fare with plenty of space overlooking an old marina. Gorgeous 46 inch flat screen with Direct HD TV Very nice and relaxing indeed

This hotel was opened January, 2016 and is extremely modern. Room décor is very modern but utilitarian. We had a view room overlooking the old piers and the river. Very, very, nice. The best part is the window dressing which lets in absolutely zero light!! Front desk was very helpful when I couldn't get WiFi, and supplied an Ethernet cable for excellent reception.

I have stayed in many many Holiday inn hotels, I like this one a lot. The new interior design is amazing, efficient clean and spacey. The staff are very friendly and helpful, plus that they are very personal charming, you can tell easily how much they enjoy working there. I think this is one of the best Holiday inn express I ever used. The rate is reasonable and breakfast is very good with a wonderful view outside. The cinnamon rolls are very very good. So please give a try. I'm sure you will ag... Read more

Allison was very welcoming and a breath of fresh air after a long journey. She was smiling and happy to be working. Allison offered a great suggestion for a local restaurant. She was quick to help with any needs including replenishing the pool towels. Allison deserves a raise and/or promotion! I hope management will recognize her great customer service. The hotel is very nice and clean and offered a beautiful setting.

Clean, friendly, etc, all the usual qualities you'd expect from Holiday Inn Express (never does make me any smarter tho). This is the second one of the new corporate design that I've stayed in, and it has not grown on me. I admire the efficiency, but it feels quite a lot like a lot of dorm rooms in its decor, and all the surfaces are sharp, too sharp to rest an elbow on. Also, the full kitchenette is a nice touch, but the cupboards? Completely empty, all for show.

Brand spanking new property, on the water...(Black River?). I was greeted as a Priority Club member, but not after waiting an unacceptable amount of time for the guests ahead of me to be checked-in. The facilities are pristine, and of modern design like the property I reviewed a coup olé weeks ago in Rochester Hills, MI. This is not a design style of would have picked, and yet I love it cause it is so functional in the hotel setting. The desk, the use charging bedside, the window shade light... Read more

We've stayed in several Port Huron hotels and this is definitely a gem, brand new as of January 2016. Our king room was more than spacious and even had designated space for 2 suitcases - one large and one carry on. Bed was very comfortable. There was no bathtub in the room which suited us fine. The location is quiet. Downtown is probably no more than a 5-10 minute's drive. We will definitely stay here again!

This is a new Holiday Inn Express and Suites located just over the border from Canada. Great location and reasonable price. Overall the facilities are very modern and actually a pleasant change from the typical standard hotel decor. Breakfast is included and the presentation is very nice. The buffet includes cereal, rolls, fruit, yogurt etc. you will not leave hungry. But what really struck me was the friendliness of the hotel staff. Finding a hotel that is reasonable, has a pleasant decor, gre... Read more

We were really looking forward to staying here based on the reviews but didn't have a good stay. THE BAD: 1. At check in, I was asked for my license and credit card so they could be "verified". I was happy to see a sign saying they accept ApplePay because I wanted to pay securely (a lot of major hotel chains were recently hacked!). I handed both over and expected her to LOOK at them, VERIFY my ID, and VERIFY the last 4 digits of credit card. I said I wanted to use ApplePay and she said she had... Read more

We reserved this room because my grandmother had to have surgery the next morning right up the street. We got to the hotel and at first glance it seemed really nice. We got to our room and were happy that it was waterside, a nice view at sunset and sunrise. I have worked for hotels for over 7 years, that being said I tend to look over the room a little more than someone else would have. I am glad I did. The windowsill was covered in dust. I wiped my hand across it and it was covered... The bed o... Read more

I stayed at this hotel for 3 days last week and I didn't want to leave (I had to check back into my current hotel which had double booked some guests for that 3-day period.) It is a new building so everything looked and smelled brand new. I had a king-sized bed room and it was very spacious. A stretch lounge chair is so inviting that I know every guest will more than likely spend some time on it. The building, its facilities and furniture have a modern, boutique look to it. I would've preferre... Read more

Nice little clean pool and workout room. Just off interstate and close to tourist walking sites/oceanfront. Solid breakfast options and the woman working was so sweet. They let our family meet up with local family and have drinks in the lobby the evenings we stayed. PS: there is a huge liquor and snack shop right next door. Front desk was really helpful pointing out sites to see and how to get around. I also forgot my swimsuit and they were able to get it off to me in no time. All in all, good v... Read more

Very nice hotel. New construction. Very clean, comfortable and a great value. The breakfast is a nice bonus. It's a quick drive to the downtown area for dining. Easy access to the freeway if you are traveling on to Canada. I have stayed at other hotels in Port Huron and this is the best one

I had a one night stay at this property and found it met my needs very well. It's new, opening just this past January. As the desk clerk told me, it is part of Holiday Inn's "Blue" collection. Furnishings and decor are very modern. There are several restaurants nearby. In the summer, this is probably a very active place. It abuts a marina right on the Black River canal. One caution -- as you're arriving, the entry driveway can be difficult to spot. As you go south on Water Street from I 94, it... Read more

We decided to go to Port Huron shopping for a few day & found this Hotel Quite nice. It is close to shopping, dining but away from the busy uptown. The rooms could use a fresh coat of paint, but it was extremely clean and the clerks & manager were very nice and friendly.
