This is a great hotel in the area. The pool and hot tub are nice. The complimentary breakfast had plenty of options and a beautiful back balcony to overlook the valley while eating. The breakfast staff person did a great job keeping everything stocked on a busy Saturday morning! There many nice touches such as complimentary water bottles and apples and bicycles. There is also a complimentary limousine that provides transportation to the casino or downtown. The staff members were all friendly, es... Read more

We did not stay in this location so I can't speak to the rooms, etc. However, I feel compelled to mention the view. As we passed this hotel going up a long hill, we couldn't believe the view this hotel has from the back of the hotel overlooking a large valley. The hotel looked very nice from the outside. We would choose to stay here when pasing through in the future.

On check-in ( 6/5/16 ) we were given Room #405, a suite with 2 queen beds with bath, and adjoining room that had fireplace , full size refrigerator, microwave, sink, coffee service, a most comfortable sofa sleeper, and another bath! A balcony for each room provided a goregous sunrise. Full breakfast in the morning. Ample lighted parking steps away from front entrance.

Recommend this property, I was given room 203 on June 6th with a nice view of the valley. The best perk and its one I have not had at a lot of hotels, free limo to town so you can enjoy the night a bit more then if you were driving. Very safe and very nice, great service. Great for families or business travel

Have been at the Hotel for 10 days. It is awesome! Great staff, VERY clean, and the pool rocks what more could a girl ask for. Oh, yes good coffee and very comfy beds??. Our room has a cute fire place too. One tip try to get a room on the back side the road is close and busy. I like to have the slider open, but you don't hear the road noise if it is closed. Overall love this place and would totally go back!

Biggest complaint was the floor and walls were very thin and could hear everyone above you (big meltdown by child around 3:00 a.m. Lots of clomping around. Hear people next door and in hall too. I had reservations for Tuesday, September 13, checking out on the 14th. Upon arrival, I was informed that we'd been upgraded to an Executive Suite on the 4th floor facing the valley. I understand that they randomly upgrade customers so I didn't question. When we entered the room, much to my surprise , we had a two room suite with a kitchen (with popcorn), bottles of water in the fridge, a Keurig coffeemaker, 47" TV, fireplace, couch, balcony and a full bath...that was in the first room. Quiet and yet conveniently located on the outskirts of Petoskey. Upon arrival, Ronnie gave some great recommendations and accurate directions on where to find Petoskey stones. The place was beautiful and clean. Wish every hotel had their level of customer service.

I have stayed at this property at least five times. Each time I have found staff to be very courteous, caring and helpful. The room was extra clean and quiet; bed comfortable. The views on the valley side are beautiful no matter what season. The breakfast menu was as expected at a HI Express, but was fresher than some that I have eaten. The dining area was also very clean. What impresses me most about this hotel is the happy demeanor of the staff. Beginning at the front desk all the way th... Read more

Was a good stay mostly. Clean hotel. Normal food that all holiday in serve. Room was really big, a kind suite. Bathroom was large and lots of space. Pool and spa were kept up and clean. Pool area didnt have towels, had to bring your own. Also I would not recommend that the hotel clean your windshield...the business card that they place on the window sticks to the window with rain or humidity leaving residue that you have to scrape off. I asked for a late checkout of 1 pm since I was a spire lev... Read more

It was a perfect Fall day and it was made even better when we got upgraded to a suite room for being an IHG Rewards Club member. Every amenity imaginable was available in Room 217 on September 23. Two bathrooms, two tv's and a full kitchen made us wish we were staying longer. You are welcomed by a staff that answers every question and truly makes you feel special. One reason to stay here are the wonderful breakfast choices with inside or outside seating (with a scenic view). Don't forget the eve... Read more

Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and politely. Front desk personal were friendly and professional and treated us great. Our room had been upgraded to a jacuzzi room with stovetop, microwave Keurig coffee maker, and large apartment size refrigerator. HDTV service was provided. My experience was spectacular!! We stayed in Room 401 on 9-24-16. I was sorry, we had to checkout the next day. The view was amazing, the hotel was spotless, last but not least the breakfast was very good. I definitely hope to be able to return in the future. We not only was very happy with the hotel, we loved the surrounding area. This is why, I always stay at a Holiday Inn Express if it is available!!

Someone checked in last night with a dog, who was not welcome in the hotel. So, the dog stayed in the car all night and barked! I came down a 2, 4, and 8am asking for resolution. Front desk did nothing. Nice hotel but to not respond to the situation was a poor choice.

While traveling through northern Michigan, we decided to stay in Petoskey one night and selected this hotel. It was a good decision. We had a fantastic view overlooking a large valley area. Unfortunately, it was about 2 to 3 weeks before the peak fall foliage time period. We could only imagine how great it would look then. The indoor pool looked very nice although we didn't use it. Breakfast in the morning was nice with a good selection of breakfast items.

We arrived October 7 and stayed in room 303 which had a beautiful valley view. We were only able to stay the one night, but when we awoke in the morning we were greeted with a beautiful view of the valley with the trees just starting to pop with fall color. We were very happy with this hotel. It was clean, the shower was great, and the pool area looked fantastic, although we didn't have time to use it. My mom and I decided to make a last minute trip to Petoskey when our plans were changed from hurricane Matthew. We booked this hotel the night before we checked in and although I thought the rate was about expensive, it was very competitive for last minute booking and for other hotels in the area. We originally were put in a first floor room basically sitting on the parking lot but they were able to accommodate a move to the fourth floor where we had a beautiful view. Holiday Inns have been impressing us lately. I used to avoid them like the plague but their performance is obviously improving and this stay is indicative of that. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The check in was easy. The breakfast was great. (Love the extended breakfast and checkout!). They had water and apples by the door. The only thing I didn't like was being near the conference room when a conference was happening. Boy they were loud at 7:45 a.m.

The room was very large and had a separate bedroom from the kitchen and small living room. The valley views were exceptional this time of year as well. It was a very convenient location close to the casino and downtown. They even had a limo to take you around if you wanted.

I will also note that if you aren't an early riser like myself, especially on vacation, at least wake up for the breakfast. The view from the dining area is spectacular; if you have a room facing the East you're all the luckier for it!

We stayed in the penthouse suite at the Holiday Inn Express in Petoskey, and it was an amazing room for the price. Spacious, fully furnished kitchen, and feeling like we were truly at home while away.
