My husband and I made a trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and stayed at the only Hampton Inn in the UP. The hotel is only 4 years old and it situated near the downtown area of Marquette right on Lake Superior. A beautiful setting! The weather was still chilly with a few snowflakes but we had expected that. The service received by the front desk staff was great as they directed us to areas of interest e.g. Northern Michigan University and also gave some dining locations that were within wal... Read more

The staff accommodated our request for a different lake view room upon our arrival and we truly enjoyed the view from the third floor. We watched the fog lift before sunset and even saw a rainbow. In the morning the vista was gorgeous. The breakfast room also has a beautiful view of Superior--and we thought the breakfast offerings were great, too. Later that night, after our departure from Marquette, I discovered I had not returned my expensive new tooth guard to its case. The staff was ver... Read more

I've been to Marquette countless numbers of times but my first time staying at the Hampton. Everything was so clean I let my baby crawl all over hotel room, which I'm very hesitant in many hotels. We got the treat of a lakeside view and oh, what a gorgeous view! It felt like we were many hours away from home, not just 2! I did not visit the pool or exercise areas. The breakfast was good - oatmeal, western omelets, Yukon gold potatoes, waffles, etc. Breakfast room was quiet when we went down so o... Read more

I always stay at the Hampton in Marquette. They simply out-perform every other hotel in every service they offer. You'll be glad you visited. I always use the trail system for a walk/run overlooking the harbor and Lake Superior. Beautiful is an understatement.

Beautiful views of the Great Lake Superior. Excellent accomadations all around. On their contenntial breakfast, some breakfast items left a lot to be desired. Many good restaurants in the area for an alternative. I would not let their breakfast stop me from staying there again.

I have stayed at the Hampton Inn Marquette Waterfront on prior travel thru the U.P. It is a jewel on the waterfront! The view is second only to the accommodations and the service of the staff. Treat yourself to a glass of wine on the large balcony or sit and read a book in the large lobby on a couch while overlooking beautiful Lake Superior. I have made this on of my favorite stays while in the U.P. of Michigan.

Got the Power Plant view room (#1200) -- so disappointed! Asked Tyler at front desk for a better view room and he said nothing was available. I reserved this room last February and am paying $244/night at the AAA rate. Otherwise, it looks like a typical Hampton (except no bottled water offered for Honors Silver).

I travel a lot for business but this was a pleasure trip with my wife. I've stayed at nearly 100 different Hamptons throughout the USA. This is now in my Top 3. There is a boardwalk behind the hotel right along Lake Superior that was an added bonus. It's right next door to a Marquette landmark, the iron ore loading facility. Don't worry, though, it's not used anymore but it's so cool looking. The best part is that you can walk to dozens of bars, restaurants, and shops from this location. ... Read more

Read what was already written. It should suffice to describe our total experience. The location was spectacular...IF we could have seen and experienced it from Lake side as requested at the time of the reservation. All we were shown was a print out from "Corporate" NOT showing a Lake side room requested. And, having my husband listen to another guest expressing the same issues we experienced says to us that someone at "Corporate" isn't listening when reservations are being made...WHY?!

Got to Marquette just as a rain storm started, and we needed to get off our motorcycle. The Hampton was the first hotel we saw on the way into town. It is a quality hotel, exactly like all the other Hamptons we have stayed in, but this one was more expensive that the others, almost $300.00 US for one night, two adults, with their complimentary continental breakfast. The hotel is clean and the staff friendly. The pool was wonderful. Don't pay extra for a pool view room.

The Hampton Inn in Marquette MI is a new, modern, clean hotel in probably the best location in the city. I took my family of 5 to Lake Superior's shore for a summer vacation. I chose this hotel due to it's location right in the harbor but I was surprised at how resort-like it felt. Staff and atmosphere felt much more like a Club-Med getaway than a great lakes small city hotel. The family insisted we return next summer for a longer stay.

This Hampton Inn proudly displays multiple Lighthouse Awards for exceptional facility, and hospitality. Setting aside the way higher than typical room fees, it is a stunning, newer lodging in a spectacular setting right on the water and a half-dozen block walk from downtown restaurants and bars. The reception staff were friendly and were happy to recommend local restaurants that would be open on a Sunday as the hotel didn't have a restaurant. The lovely girl at breakfast was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble and she even held an imp... Read more

The location of this hotel is perfect, enjoyed watching the sun rise while eating breakfast. Several restaurants and brew pubs to chose from. We will be back next year and will be staying here again, if you chose this hotel you would have to work hard to be disappointed

This is easily the nicest Hampton I have stayed in and is the nicest of comparable level motels. The breakfast area looks out on Lake Superior. The rooms on lakeside also have a great view of the lake. The motel is within walking distance of a couple nice restaurants and provides easy access by car to many local attractions.

The location was wonderful as was the entire experience at this hotel. I recommend them highly. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the sailboats in the harbor while enjoying a glass of wine with glasses use complimentary from the hotel.

Clean comfortable rooms, excellent view, immaculately taken care of, extremely friendly and helpful staff, and perfect location. One of the highlights of the entire trip was staying here. Walk to downtown, short drive to NMU and all the local sites.

I use this chain for most of my stays. I actually look forward to this hotel. Everytime we head to look for land this has been the go to place. The view is one of the best to wake up to. The staff I believe is the best of any place we have stayed over the past years. Cant wait to go back

We recently stayed at this hotel during a visit to Marquette. We had a waterfront room with an incredible view. The complimentary breakfasts were different, and wonderful, each of the three days we were there. The front desk staff were friendly, and they kept the complimentary warm cookies coming all evening. The rooms are large, and the beds are comfortable. This was one of our best hotel experiences ever!

Absolutely beautiful property. However our stay was outrageous and we will not recommend this property to anyone. Ever. This has got to be the noisiest room on property. And for the rack rate of 350.00 per night? This room should come with a disclaimer that you will be awakened at 500am. Guaranteed. Front desk staff was no help with this matter and let me know it would continue "for a while" longer while breakfast prep continues. While I have gone this far I will also let you know that I ...
