I stay in these hotels all the time, and this one did not disappoint. Very well laid out, compact, and totally close to everything in Mackinaw City. Worth the extra money to stay here as compared to the local independent hotels, IMHO.

This was a dependable and friendly Holiday Inn Express. The staff were all wonderful, from the front desk staff, the ladies refilling breakfast foods and the coffee bar, to the cleaning ladies I chatted with in the elevator. Very typical of other Holiday Inn Express hotels. I can tell it is a little dated from other ones I have been to, but still very, very clean!!! We got a room with a balcony view overlooking the bridge and it was well worth it. We spent some time hanging out reading on the ba... Read more

We stayed here overnight. The accommodations are what you would expect for a holiday inn. The staff is friendly. The hotel is close to the highway so if you are sensitive to road noise you might want to ask for a room the furthest away. You are within walking distance to anything you might want to see.

The location of the Holiday Inn Express is great for any visit to Mackinaw. The room was clean and comfortable. The employees were friendly and helpful. Good comfortable, quiet, and cleaned room. Average breakfast (no fruit included), but outstanding service from the server (Betty). Good (Brittany) and Bad (Samira) clerk service. Samira (blondy lady) was very rude at our check in. We didn't know why she was so upset and short/rude with us. For at our entrance, instead of saying hi or welcome, she asked me for the room number, then I asked for another question and she gave me a rude answer. Stayed one night on a business trip. Check-in was interesting. Staff wasn't rude, but wasn't helpful either. Answers to simple questions I had were not well provided. Room facing highway was surprisingly loud for being a quiet town. Internet was very slow in the room, a little better in the lobby. Breakfast selection was great.

I usually stay at Holiday Inn Express, since they offer clean bathrooms and great sleep quality. This one, was not my favorite, though; there was a weird smell and was a little outdated for my taste, maybe because of the location. It was ok, comfortable and clean bathroom; but to me it looked more like a Best Western plus, than a HIE. Very friendly lady at the front desk!

Walls are very thin, you can hear people talking in the next room over and in the hallway. My room window whistled for most of the night and made it hard to sleep. Bathtub did not hold water well to take a bath. Room was not cleaned very well, you could see the dust on everything. Rooms need a fresh coat of paint and updated bathroom. We paid more for a King room with a Jacuzzi tub. The jets were dirty, and the tub filled with grime. So we didn't use it. The faucet around it had mold on it. This I know can be cleaned with a bleach wipe so why they don't clean is beyond me. The jets have metal rings one of which popped off when the jets were turned on. Stayed here for one night in August on a lower level floor. Room was very spacious, more than usual, possibly due to being a corner room. Next to bridge, so heard lots of night traffic, but wasn't too bothersome. Room was clean and the kids enjoyed the pool/spa/sauna. You could walk to downtown, but it would be quite a walk, we chose to drive. Staff very friendly. Our room did not have a balcony, but the upper levels did. Most Holiday Inns have friendly front desk personnel. This one didn't. I checked in 45 minutes early, and my room wasn't available. I asked for another, and was treated by her as if it was a great imposition. She said very little, and didn't smile. She came from the back room to check me in, so apparently I disturbed her. We really enjoyed this hotel we stayed on the 3rd floor nice view of the bridge and straights. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Nice breakfast comfortable room. Liked the ceiling fan which made a nice airflow around the room. Very comfortable stay and I would happily return.

The five in our group loved the location of Holiday Inn "At the Bridge." We had great views and were in walking distance of the park and lighthouse. Hotel staff took care of every need and were very gracious.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Late October for two days. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Room was clean, breakfast had more than enough choices and the ladies working the breakfast were friendly and always stocked the food so that nothing ran out. One morning we were late in getting breakfast and they helped us make a plate, how nice of them to do that! I also had coffee in the late evening and the coffee was always hot and the creamer and sugars were always stocked. There were co... Read more

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Mackinaw City recently and it was very clean, the room was nice and the lobby/breakfast area was very inviting to just sit and relax. Comfy beds and a great hot breakfast to enjoy before we got on the road for a long drive.

We stayed in room number 425, November 4th, through November 6th. Our stay really was wonderful. The girls at the desk are very polite and helpful and the rooms were extrwemly clean. This room is seriously the best, it's on the 4th floor at the end of the hallway. It has two balconies with great views of the city and the bridge. I would highly recommend this holiday Inn express!

The wife and I stayed one day/night here at the Holiday Inn Express in October 2016 during our up north honeymoon. It??s nice that the hotel is just outside of town so it??s very quiet and peaceful (at least it was for us in the fall). We were hoping for a room facing the lake, but instead we faced the parking lot and gas station HA!! Oh well. The only real issue was that the pool was a bit dirty and the hot tub had some black stuff in the tile grout. Yuck! Other than that, it was a pleasant s... Read more

The location is a bonus, right when you get off the bridge turn right and there you are at the Holiday Inn Express. Updated since the last visit here a few years back so that was nice. Breakfast will feature much of the standards such as boiled eggs, oatmeal (envelope), scrambled eggs and sausage. Staff was very friendly with room rate being average.
