I should have known better when I saw the woman come out of the lobby, apparently having to leave her teeth as a security deposit. This is definitely a budget motel but we were in a bind and had our dog with us besides. The room is old and outdated. The outlets were so loose that it was impossible to plug my iPhone in to charge. The room was cold (it was 43 degrees outside when we checked in) so we turned the a/c heating unit to the max. It was still so cold in the room when we went to bed ... Read more

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Bathroom very small. I was looking for an indoor swimming pool, which was advertised, but you had to go outside to get to the building that the pool was in. Not very comfortable when the weather is in the 50??s and your 74 years old. In the morning I went looking for the continental breakfast that was advertised as well and found out I had to go to the hotel next door. We went to a restaurant for breakfast.

Shabby second floor room. Had to carry bags up 2 flights of stairs . Walked quite a distance to Clarion for breakfast (again on the 2nd floor). Very pricey for accomodations we received. Next time will spend our extra night on Mackinc Island where accommodations are much cheaper, classier, and friendlier.

I want to personally thank Jody K, the night employee that assisted us. Because of a flight delay we did not land in Pellston, Michigan until 11:00pm. We then had a 30 min taxi ride to the hotel. I called and spoke to Jody K and she said that would not be a problem. She was waiting for us, gave us two rooms close to the office and waited for us to get settled in case we had any other issues. She is absolutely the nicest young woman I've encountered at any Days Inn. The room was not fancy, ... Read more

Room was dated, "view" was not much of a view at all. We were told we were being upgraded to a king suite with a jacuzzi instead of the queen room with a balcony and a view, and frankly I was disappointed. We were on the ground floor and the room was just weird. The pictures of the queen room looked great and honestly she made it sound like the king suite was much nicer, but it simply wasn't. For the price I felt the value wasn't there. Instead of the $175 it felt more like a $100. The internet ... Read more

They don't ever say they are on the water but every indication is that they are. Well, don't expect to use their beach because there isn't one. Directly behind their property is a parking lot for ferry customers. The room has adequate size but the bathroom is the smallest I've ever been in. It reminded me of a motor home bathroom. The room is dated and worn but not dirty. The mattresses are old too. The breakfast was good and included all the hot and cold items usually offered with a free mo... Read more

It was very nice, clean and quiet at the proper times for sleeping. Staff very friendly and helpful. My only complaint here and any place else is that they leave an envelope with their name on it expecting a tip. Which I understand they are not paid as much as they should be, but she did not serve me dinner or breakfast (which they said was at 7am and didn't happen).

The room was nice with a balcony and easy access. The facility has a nice pool area and hot tub and great priced. But the only lacking was the fact that the wireless internet was horrible and would loose connection every 5 minutes or so. The next night I stayed in a different hotel in a different town and did not have a problem.

Room given to us was not clean, towels were stinking - had to ask them for fresh ones. Wifi didn't work in the room. When we booked the room online, we picked room with the lake view. However, at the time of check-in, we were told no such rooms were available. The front desk staff was courteous but the Manager was not available to discuss any of the above issues we ran into.

The bed and pillows were comfortable. The room was clean. It was also very worn down; for example, parts of the floor in the bathroom were actually worn away and the sink and faucets were outdated. This was a no frills room. You could walk through a parking lot to be at the water's edge, and you could walk to one of the Mackinaw Island ferrys. The cost was $170 for one night. Maybe that's typical for this city on 4th of July weekend, but I think it was outrageous.

All I wanted was to spend my 63 birthday sipping coffee in the morning in a room overlooking Lake Huron. Found the Days Inn Lakeview on-line and it appeared to have a good view.
