The staff was very friendly however I had a very bad experience during my first night. I woke up around 1:00AM to what sounded like a violent domestic abuse situation. There was angry shouting and swearing and what sounded like things being broken. It was terrifying to listen to and while my husband and I were planning on calling the police he had me wait in the bathroom with the fan on so I could drown out the noise as he listened closer to make sure of what was going on. Luckily it turned out ... Read more

The rooms were a little bit aged but nice and clean. We were late for breakfast and still greeted very friendly and even offered more hot food. Then we also checked out almost 1 1/2 hours too late. Still no problem. They even offered to do the laundry for us after our checkout.

This Motel had horrible bathrooms. I took a shower and the bathtub backed up with dirty water. Not to mention no water pressure, and you could not control the hot and cold water. The so called breakfast was not even edible, with powdered eggs which were cold. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We had a very enjoyable stay back in July with my granddaughter & her friend. That is why we chose to stay here, again. Our stay this time was just as pleasurable. It's hard for both my wife and I to find a Motel, that we don't wake up in pain, from a horrible bed, but the beds here are Great. We stayed in a King Jacuzzi this time, and couldn't be happier with our stay.

We needed a non-smoking pet friendly place to stay on our way up north to see Tahquamenon Falls. Room looked clean and cozy and did the trick for a single night so we could look around the area. Located fairly close to the bridge and it wasn't too hard to locate. Breakfast was free, but limited selection: Powdered eggs, sausage, french toast sticks, cereals, bagels, some small baked goods, coffee, and juice. They have a pool too, but we were too tired to use it.

Our stay was so refreshing!! We had extra towels without asking, clean room, extra blanket. Zach was wonderful and very friendly!!!! Helpful with directions. We have stayed several times. The breakfast is great. The pool area is always clean and there are always lists of clean towels. We will definitely stay again and we will refer friends and family!

This place changed formats a few years ago and has been spiraling downhill since. The rooms haven't been upgraded for at least a decade and some of the wear is really showing now. Still, if you want a basic place to sleep, with a decent breakfast bar, an indoor pool, decent wifi, and staff who will accommodate your needs then this is a fine place to spend the night. Don't expect luxury, but you will get a budget room.

We has a room with 2 Queen beds. Very clean rooms. And on the last morning we were late for breakfast they still greeted us with very friendly service and weren't rushed. Then we checked out. We were very satisfied with the customer service as well.

We checked in with 3 families. Our room had stains on the sheet, a leaking pipe in the bathroom, and crap smeared on the toilet. The other rooms had bugs and smelled like smoke and mildew. We will not got back ever.

It is very hard to believe that this company has 13k people that like them. We reserved 3 rooms in mackinaw city for last night July 9th, after a long day of traveling with our family and a 8 month old baby, we were looking forward to a hot shower and a good nights rest, however we got quiet the opposite. We should have realized what we were in for when we walked into the lobby and it wreaked of body odor and filth. After checking in we all went to our rooms and found the unthinkable after spend... We went to Mackinaw City and Mackinaw Island for our anniversary. This hotel was clean and economical. The pool was very nice! The breakfast in the morning was good with hot biscuits and gravy. We didn't have a chance to use the bbq grills, but saw other people using them on the public patio. So nice of them to have the grills available to the guests. We will stay there again when we return to the area.

We went for a quick 2 night visit to the Island and Mackinaw City. This hotel was clean and affordable. We did have a jacuzzi suite. It was very large and comfortable. They do need to replace the missing doors by the jacuzzi and also need blinds on the french entry doors otherwise too much of the room is visible from the outside. Only other thing to mention is the TV is too small for such a large and open room. Breakfast was OK. The staff was pleasant. All in all this is a solid budget c... Read more

The price was right, along with the location. The hotel staff were very pleasant. We stayed here in a king size room with a spa tub. The tub is nice to use after walking around all day on the island. The shower was also nice. The room was a good size too. it was a quiet place to stay. However, the mattress was horrible. It was very hard and very old only about 6 inches thick and it sagged in the middle, so we we grateful that we had a king size. Plus, I was shocked to see that there was no matt... Read more

We recently stayed two nights at "America's Best" Value Inn Mackinaw City. Paying well over $100 a night, we expected a clean room at the very least. What we ended up with was a moldy smelling, dirty room. Grimy carpet, dirty looking sheets, dust and grime everywhere, ants, afraid to leave anything on the floor. The free breakfast included rock hard biscuits, cold eggs - that after I had a bite I noticed a hair in my husband's portion! Please, do not subject your family to this disaster of ... Read more

The room smelled like mold so bad we had to go complain. They gave us another room which was slightly better, but we still only stayed 1 night and went somewhere else the rest of the weekend. The bed was like sleeping on a potato sack. Avoid.

It was your typical up north hotel... The breakfast was not impressive. We were quite disappointed as the description sounded wonderful! The beds were hard and uncomfortable. The tv was an old box style and the channels came in pretty fuzzy. Due to the time of year this was one of the better deals near the island, so in that aspect I was thankful as a single mom of two.

Comfortable, clean, and quite. The gentleman at the front desk phoned after my wife and I were in the room for a few minutes to make certain we had no problems and were happy with the room. Friendly people. Great bed. Excellent breakfast. Have a pool but didn't use it. The hotel is not downtown so the room is quiet. We are returning next year.

After staying in the motel from hell in Houghton Lake, we decided to drive a little further on our way home and booked this motel while driving. It is an older motel, but this is how a motel/hotel should be run. The woman at the front desk was efficient, explained everything (pool hours, wifi, breakfast in the morning, etc). It took about 510 minutes to check in. When we walked in the door, my grandson said "Now this is what I was hoping for). It was very clean and everything worked. When I... Read more

This is an old motel, that needs a good rehab. The rooms are clean but the carpeting is very worn and the shower in the tub is for little people! The location has a pool, but not a hot tub. Breakfast is adequate and the attendant is very friendly and helpful. The front office staff were fine. The location is great for easy downtown access.

First off they went out of there way to help on arrival we needed a real early check in like 11 am so we could change to get to wedding on island so they made it happen by getting a room ready like now so that was a big plus room was clean had all we needed good hot free breakfast and the price was right the only little problem was noise out side people where sitting and talking but no big deal would stay again

The first room we were in smelled so bad of must or mildew that we could hardly breathe! They were able to move us to a different room that stunk also but was not as bad. The air conditioner is a small window type unit that comes no where near cooling the room off enough especially the farther beds. The bathroom was very outdated, and the carpet looked filthy. I get that this was one of the cheaper hotels in the area, and they say you get what you pay for, but for over $100 a night I don't wan... Read more

From the moment we looked in the window it was a sign to turn and run. There was a bathing suit hanging on the light. Sick. How do you miss that. Opening the door wasn't much better. Paper behind nightstand and change. We had the jacuzzi suit and there were no partitions separating the bed room and shower. The electrical was awful. That bathing suit light was an adjustable switch and no matter the setting it would flicker. The light above referenced shower was burned out. The curtains were brok... Read more

While the staff was very friendly, the hotel needs some help. The grounds looked decent but when we entered our room I had this overall feeling of uncleanliness. There was a stain on the carpet, and the sheets were dingy instead of white. The AC unit also decided to not work the second night. The bed was far from comfortable and I could feel the springs. I don't believe we'd stay here again unless there were some major updates.

We booked our stay through Priceline for Sept 4 through Sept 5th. We arrived after 5pm because we had been on the Island all day. We got to the room and it is what we anticipated for a motel chain. We left to walk to the city for dinner and I realized I left my camera in the room. My husband headed back to get the camera and when he arrived, there was a man smoking something out of a pipe in front of our door! The rooms were a outdated a bit but that doesn't matter so much to me if the place is clean, and it was near spotless! The beds were comfortable and staff was very nice. I knew this was not a luxury hotel, I only wanted a place to sleep and shower. But their linen service needs improvement, The bed sheet was so thin and no mattress cover, no bedspread on the bed but a blanket and sheet, it was a chilly night so asked for an additional blanket, the staff was accommodating to our needs. The towels were so thin, small and rough, they are hard to use. Also the room was for two adults but they only gave us one pack of coffee for one person. Had to go and ask for ... Read more

We chose priceline express because of price and this was the place we got. Never would have specifically chosen this place. But you do get what you pay for. As soon as we got to our room, we smelled a strong musty smell. It was a very basic room. not much going for decor. All of us were sneezing and coughing by the time we left because of allergies. Stopped in St. Ignace to stay the night on our way up north. All they had left was a Jacuzzi room, and it was quite nice. It was heart shaped and they way it was set up, we could each sit comfortably next to each other and watch television. The bed was not the most comfortable but I was not expecting luxury. The front desk recommended a good restaurant for dinner and the included breakfast was a nice surprise. May or may not stay again depending on the rate.

Enjoyed the last stay. The first room we had had stains on the rug and an odor that was quite unpleasant. They had told my better half that they were pulling up the rugs and putting down vinyl in the off season. Turned on the old tube style TV and all I got was a single line. Bev went to the office and told them that I often did reviews and they hustled right around and gave us another room that had ants. Probably won't stay in another America's "Best" Value. Bed looked like they just tucked in corners of used sheets, were wrinkled and found hair in the sheets. Thankfully we had brought sleeping bags. Tub was filthy, there was a gross bath mat. Yuk! Also, there was a hair ball on the "clean" towel. We did not take showers! Couldn't wait to get out of there. Also, tissue dispenser was falling off the wall.

Middle of the road hotel. Good if you are looking for something on the cheaper side. 2 floors, no elevator. If you are on the bottom floor, be prepared to hear the people walking above you. They have a separate building for breakfast. They also have a pool, but didnt try it. Ice machine is under a stairway and laundry. Fridges in room are a big plus but no microwaves. Would stay here again. Just no frills.

When we arrived, we were given a large room with THREE queen beds, for just my husband and I. I told the clerk that we didn't need that big of a room for just the two of us - and she told us that was the room we were assigned. Okay. The room was big, and clean. However, the temps at night were in the 40s, and on the bed was a ratty blanket sandwiched between two sheet.
