This is a very comfortable clean hotel located across the street from the Mackinaw City lighthouse and beach. Great view of the Mackinac Bridge from the beach. About 4 short blocks from the Mackinaw City shopping and dining area and island ferries. This is a quiet area at "the tip of the mitten" and close to most local attractions. While some of the big-name hotels are swanky, I enjoy staying in privately owned and run establishments. Talking with the friendly owners, I can find out all the... Read more

We stayed here based on the reviews and were disappointed. Our rooms were on the second floor, no elevator and the railing looked dangerously low. The room had an old musty smell with the first night smelling like they tried to cover it up with perfume or room freshener which was over powering. The room lighting was awful, no refrigerator, shortage of outlets for electronics and hot water was limited. The bath linens were stained and in need of replacement. We did not attend the wine tastin... Read more

Earlier this month, my wife and I traveled to Michigan to celebrate a family wedding. During our stay, we visited Mackinac Island and happened to stay at the American Boutique Inn in Mackinaw City. We arrived early, but they got us into our rooms upon our arrival. Each room was named differently and decorated how it was named. We were in a room with a Tropical / Jimmy Buffet type theme with wicker furniture and tropical decorations. Very clever and a nice "homey" type feel. In addition to ... Read more

Booked the hotel, sight unseen. We stayed in "A Summer Place" room. Each of the rooms are named after an old movie and are decorated accordingly. Our room had a poster from the movie including wicker chairs. Its an older hotel and the rooms are smaller than newer hotels but more than makes up for it in charm. Our last morning there we had breakfast delivered to our room. Coffee and bagels. A unexpected find.

We would most definitely go back again and again! Clean, carefully decorated rooms! Not fancy but don't need that :) and the total price for two nights was $194!!! And the location was amazing!!!! Right across the street from a beautiful stretch of beach and the Big Mac Bridge! So very pretty. Took advantage of the free shuttle to Shepler's Ferry and the discount tickets sold at the motel. Lastly the owners are the sweetest, kindest people ever and made me feel so welcome!!!

This is a nice family owned and operated older hotel, very close to the lake, with a good view of the bridge. The decor is a little outdated, and not my taste, but it was comfortable and adequate for a one night stay. The husband and wife team go out of their way to help.

It's an older motel, which in some instances is quaint. Our room was on the second floor by the top of the stairs. The light outside our room 207 at night attracted mosquitoes all over the door, making it hard to get in without letting a dozen or so. But for every downside, the inn tries to make up with other features. This is the first motel/inn I've stayed at that provided a flyswatter. The continental breakfast was okay, the grounds lovely, the location quiet yet close enough, and the evening... Read more

Got to say...been to Mackinaw City numerous times and never thought to check this cozy hotel out! Well we just did, and what a nice treat...literally, with a nice wine & cheese "happy hour" ! Well, It's not fancy, but it delivers the "Mackinaw motif"...and is very clean and accommodating. The location couldn't be better. It's just across the street from the lake, and with a swimming pool and a beautiful view of the lake and the Macinac Bridge, too! Conveniently, you can buy ferry tickets... Read more

I came up here Labor Day weekend, prices were a little high for what you get, but it was a holiday weekend. The location was great! Right across the the mackinaw bridge and you are able to walk across the street to the water(2 minutes), also in walking distance of the shopping strip(10-15 minutes). The rooms were clean but small, minus the dead mosquitos that were killed on the ceiling and the mosquitos that kept getting in our room with our door and window shut. The beds were comfortable. Overa... Read more

Love this place! Have been coming here for years to celebrate anniversary!! Coming here for us is like seeing friends (the owners) we haven't seen in a year and catching up along with some wonderful scenery and relaxation. Rooms are always very clean and tidy. Love the breakfast area and wine and cheese nights. Always such a friendly atmosphere. Will be back next year.
