Horrible experience -- I would never recommend or stay there! Worst hotel experience ever! Front desk manager was not cooperative when a error occurred with a third party - traveling teams. I changed my reservation through traveling teams from 2 night to 1 night and the hotel manager Andrea was aware of this and many others that this happened to. The hotel insists on not only charging me for one night but two nights at a higher rate.

Came to Kalamazoo for my son graduation this weekwn and wanted a great hotel to stay at.The last time we came to visit we stayed downtown Great hotel but no customer service. That hotel was sold out.I remembered another time we were coming up here we stayed at this hotel so we decided to give it another try. When I say that was the best decision I made I mean it.The customer service from the front desk , housekeeping, ladies fixing breakfast daily was out of this world and this continued on all s... We stayed here for a bowling tournament. Valerie at the front desk was awesome. She was extremely pleasant when we checked in. When we got to the room and turned on one of the lights, it burned out. I took the burned out bulb to the front desk to see if they had another one. They didn't, but Valerie ran and got one and brought it to our room immediately! The room we had had 2 beds, a sofa bed, and 2 bathrooms. It was the perfect size for 2 adults and 2 kids. Having 2 bathrooms was wonderful esp... Read more

I do like this hotel. It just takes a little while to realize it. The town was just about sold out, so just having a place was nice. We were upgraded to a huge room which was a nice touch. The room did look like it saw a bit of history and had only very spotty internet service. The breakfast was a bit better than most. The staff, both housekeeping and front desk went above and beyond to help me with a lost item which I really appreciated. I'd stay here again if I were in Kalamazoo, but it would... Read more

We stayed at the Residence Inn on Saturday April 2nd 2016. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the suite was just like a small apartment and very nice and comfy. The continental breakfast was A+!

Check in- This was our first time staying at a Residence Inn, and I didn't realize there were different building numbers. The building number wasn't shared at check in and I went to the wrong room (same last three numbers) and incorrectly tried to open the door of an occupied room. Oops! Sorted out by returning to reception and waiting in line again. Room- Clean, like other reviews have said, it is on the dated side. In shower the hot and cold water lines were reversed. Entry to the room i... Read more

Had a great stay with my brother. Suite was clean. Breakfast had sufficient choices. Kitchen was stocked with pots. Full size refrigerator. Housekeeping did great job. Plenty of towels, extra sheets and pillows. Staff was friendly.

The staff was very friendly and courteous. When we arrived, Andrea was very accommodating to my family's needs. I forgot to reserve a bottom floor suite because of my mother-in-law and she switched our rooms with no problems at all. We were visiting for my niece's and nephew's graduations and all the cousins ended coming back with us. We are definitely coming back!

Friendly helpful staff. Nice rooms. Decent hot breakfast. The room was nice with a suite design and full kitchen. The bed was very comfortable. The kids lived the pool and basketball court. Parking was easy. I would stay again.

We just returned from a weekend stay and it was a very good experience at this hotel. The staff accommodated many ages of soccer players and their parents. Some grandparents too! The rooms were very nice and spacious for families with excellent beds, linens and pillows. The kids and adults also greatly enjoyed the pool. Helped a lot as the outdoor temperature was in the 90's. Their staff were friendly and helpful - from managers and desk attendants to housekeeping. We received a smile and greeti... Read more

About what you'd expect: average with a handful of notable deficits. Hasn't been vacuumed in awhile, with a good deal of litter and debris clearly visible by the front door. Multiple insect bodies (fairly small, not roaches) remained on the kitchen floor for two nights, as did unidentified crud on the refrigerator door. Well-worn and stained carpets and upholstery and, curiously, an oven door impossible to open fully because it was blocked by the refrigerator. OTOH, the staff seemed pleasant. I'... Read more

Right off the freeway. Quick check-in, very friendly counter staff. Room #922. Full kitchen including 4 burner stove and full sized fridge, plates, silverware, cookware, etc. Decent standard free hotel breakfast options. Staff was always refilling items and smiling and very pleasant. Allowed us to us their ice bucket to fill our coolers for a 94 degree day soccer tournament. Even asked how we did when we came back later in the day. Nice pool and patio area to accomodate our large team an... Read more

Room dated as is the case with most Residence Inns, but it was clean and fresh (as it could be). However, corridor to room had not been swept in months so the entry was very unappealing. Breakfast area overwhelmed; eg, ran out of coffee and orange juice. However, the most annoying thing was the lack of parking. Went out to dinner and returned to find the lot full. In the space we had left a "dog trailer" (real dogs for real people) was parked. Front desk claimed they had no idea who had th... Read more

First time stay here. We all found many delights we hadn't expected. Everything from ice cube trays available and wine glasses to foot stool and Paul Mitchell brand products in bathroom. Outside there were a couple of big gas grills, tables, gas fire pit and seating, pool just the right size and a Jacuzzi next to the basketball court-tennis court. Staff was exceptionally friendly and service oriented at all times, even the first person I talked to at the local hotel that I placed the call to boo... Read more

Our baseball team stayed here for a weekend. The staff here was the nicest of any place I have ever stayed. The rooms were a very decent size, the price was great, the pool area very nice, and it even had a bbq area where our team cooked out twice. I'd definitely stay here again.

It can be tough traveling as a big group, descending on a room with 30 including nine 13 year-old baseball players! And the Residence Inn has been magnificent in hosting us! The moms have often said we actually felt like we were at a bed and breakfast because the staff were not only accommodating, but also attentive to our team. They asked about the games, knew the score and helped in every way to set up our team meals. They were even kind in asking us to quiet down at night! The actual rooms a... Read more

We stayed 7 nights for our sons baseball tournament. Staff was above and beyond in taking care of all our needs. Very friendly and helpful. We used the breakfast/lobby area for meals and visiting and never felt like we were being a bother. Rooms are older but clean and functional with full kitchens, perfect for an extended stay. Pool area with fire ring and 2 gas grills for guests to use is another nice touch. Would highly recommend this hotel if visiting Kalamazoo area.

We only stayed one night on the way to Chicago but could easily stay longer. Room was very nice, spotless clean with a well equipped kitchen, large bathroom and nice sized sitting area. Service was excellent and the breakfast was certainly more than adequate. I would definitely stay here again when passing through.

This is a follow up review to my "Nasty" review yesterday. Third 316, Windows don't lock and no screen in window!! Cleaning staff rude and appear confused as they all gather by pool. Then advise that the pool is closed for an undisclosed reason. No leadership at this hotel. Pure chaos. The "Manager on duty" was Alyssa Lapekas. Asked for her on Friday night, due to my problem with the sofa beds in room 306 and 316, and was advised she was "off". Asked Saturday and was tol... Read more

We were traveling with our four children and it is always a challenge to find a hotel that will accommodate a party of 6. Check in was not so great. We arrived around 8:00pm and there was no-one at the front desk and no bell or anything to call someone. After waiting for about 10 minutes I tried calling from the house phone and it just rang at the desk not put on any call forwarding to the manager on duty. I was about to call the reservation telephone number when my son finally located someo... Read more

We have appreciated having this hotel available when we have come into town to visit relatives for several years. It has the space and extra bed (sofa bed) needed when traveling with 2 young adult children. This time we were fortunate that the AAA rate made the room with 2 baths and a separate bedroom the same price as the studio style room. Everything has always been clean and in good order. Having an apartment style facility with parking right near the door is convenient and makes things seem ... Read more

Room service never came, called about a broken remote also and they never came, they charge 75 dollars for pets. Garbage quality showers, save your money and go to Holiday Inn & avoid this brand at all costs. Staff is completely lazy & I'll never give them a penny lol

We've stayed here twice now and the next time we go to Kalamazoo we'll stay here again. We stayed in one of their suites, spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds and very good air con. It's very quiet around that area even though it's close to the airport. The pool and hot tub are clean and well maintained and the staff are excellent. Very good value for money.

The staff here is phenomenal. I called the day before with a question about my room and got upgraded. Also, was flying in and in 1 easy call had the shuttle pick me up in 5 minutes. Once, in my room I decided to go exploring. Staff at front desk suggested a nice walk and a few restaurants, even found me a coupon. Breakfast was great, every morning. Rooms are nice and clean. Only thing I would change is the light outside the room shining in in the middle of the night. Will definitely stay here ag... Read more

The facility is ok as Residence Inn's go. It is close to the airport, has a nice reception and light dinner in the lobby. The front staff are excellent. Outdated but very clean property. Lights, stove, phone didn't work in room. Breakfast was great and varied daily but reception hour was lacking. Staff was welcoming and nice just hands tied on the water issue I guess. I was told this water was normal!! For us to enjoy a trip requires a roll-in shower. The General Manager, Carrie, and her staff made sure we were accommodated with that and provided a welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast was pretty standard for Residence Inns but the wide selection of waffle toppings was fun.

The rooms themselves were very comfortable, though trying to find one's assigned unit is difficult because of little outside signage to guide one around the property. Parking after the sundown can be challenging if you think you are going to park near your front door. Front Desk staff was extremely personable and helpful. The free-breakfast was fairly uninspiring and surprising being that the property is under the Marriott name.

Loved the room with the kitchen, made it feel like home. Better than a plain room and bathroom. I would stay here again! Also, the morning breakfast was super. A wide variety of food and drinks and everyone I talked to that worked at this hotel were very friendly and helpful.

Everything was first rate. My room was clean and beautifully decorated. Everything you could possibly want was provided. I had two dogs with me and appreciated the first floor room and places to walk them. It has a condo feel - very quiet. I dislike staying in hotels most of the time, but this was a joy.
