A nice motel in Kalamazoo. It is very quiet. It is dog friendly. There were quite a few dogs. All the while we were there we only heard one dog bark. It is very clean and comfortable. We had a two bed studio suite which was a great room. We would definitely stay there again if need be. The people at the front desk were knowledgable about the area and very accommodating . I can not say enough good things about this Candlewood Suites.

We needed a room for 1 night with our dogs. This hotel was recommended to me by a friend and we loved it. The king studio was perfect and was more than enough room for 2 people and 4 dogs. All the dog crates fit in the room. The grassy areas for the dogs (when they needed to be walked) was amazing. The kitchen amenities were great. The front desk people were friendly, the room clean, and we will definitely return in the future. I loved the email I received before we arrived asking for pref... Read more

It was our first time at a Candlewood Suites, and we will be back! Initially, we thought we'd be disappointed without a continental breakfast or a pool, but we were wrong. The service was excellent, we loved the cookies and coffee/tea/cocoa, laundry was free (detergent cost 50 cents), and what food or other supplies we needed was also inexpensive. The room was comfortable and spacious. We had our dogs with us and it was a very dog-friendly place to be. Thank you for taking care of us!

We were shocked at how clean, large, and packed with amenities our room was at this price It's basically an efficiency apartment. Grill outdoors and covered gazebo as well as a mini store and lots of extras you.can borrow (even a crockpot) for extended stays. The staff could not have been friendlier, and the entire hotel was quite clean. We will definitely stay here again, there was nothing to find fault with.

As others have noted, there's a lot of great things to be said of the hotel. My room was spacious, very clean, and incredibly well equipped. It came with full size fridge and freezer (with automatic ice-maker), kitchen sink, dishwasher, and stove top. The cabinets were stocked with plates, silverware, glasses of varying size, as well as some basic cooking equipment. Definitely a first in my travels! The hotel also offers a "Lending Locker" (photos attached), which I didn't make use of, bu... Read more

My husband and I stayed at the Candlewood when we were in town for a wedding. It is a relatively new hotel, and everything was very clean. The bed was comfortable, and the towels were of a good quality. Although we did not cook in our room, we enjoyed having a full sized refrigerator. The people at the front desk were friendly and helpful. We did not realize that with an extended stay hotel, maid service is only once a week. However, we were able to get it upon request, so that turned out ... Read more

Stayed here for a couple of nights. After reading other reviews I had higher expectations. Our room needed some time with maintenance. A light bulb was out in the bathroom and the paint was peeling off right above the shower. The floor also did not look like it has been swept since the last guests in the room. The beds were very comfortable and the complimentary items were nice. Overall just average but okay value for what we paid.

Let us start with WEEKLY housekeeping! I hang out a "do not disturb" for every hotel stay however this is not your typical Holiday Inn. Cinnamon rolls? Nope! Breakfast? Nope! Video rental? Yes they have videoes. The room: large king sized bed, full sized refrigerator, microwave and hot top and dish washer. Large tv and video playback machine Problem? The smell of melting plastic will gag a maggot! Where is the smell caused your air conditioner! The bathroom: yes they have one and th... Read more

Staff was extremely friendly from our arrival to checkout. The room was found to be extremely clean and full of amenities. At night, it was super quiet. And on the bed, we had a very comfortable sleep. It was a wonderful place to stay. We highly recommend it.

We arrived at the hotel we had reserved a two queen suites we check a head of time to make sure that our reservation was confirmed. However when we arrived we were told they overbooked and it would be two days before we would get the room we reserved. In the mean time we got a single and a roll away, and by the way this room was not ready for occupancy they would be cleaning it soon...We arrived on Wednesday June 15, 2016 at 3:10 and we sat in the lounge until around 5:30. We were finally told t... Read more

We stayed here for two nights while visiting family. The facility was quiet, no hallway noise at all. The bed was average, nothing great. Room was spacious, bathroom was functional. The cost was a little above what I would have liked to pay, but it was a holiday weekend. The pantry was OK, but expensive. We did not use the gym or the laundry facilities. We would stay there again.

I stayed in this hotel for 1 week and found room to be more than adequate, plenty of space the air-con was a little noisy but did not effect your sleeping time, it has enough amenities to be self sufficient if your not in the mood to venture out to a restaurant. the shower was good changed the towels every 2/3 days. Its in a good position for the main strips where there are plenty of shops and eating joints so overall I would go back and stay here

This was our third time at the Candlewood Suites in Kalamazoo for a three day weekend. Reservations fill up quickly for the car show, so we book early. The motel had a block of rooms at a discounted rate for the event which we appreciate. The motel is set up with perks for the car event; car wash station in the back, specific old towels for washing cars, souvenirs of the event, etc. Staff was very friendly and helpful with questions we had. Room was clean and had toiletries available. Hallwa... Read more

I stayed here about 15 nights between June and September. None of the people at the desk are very friendly and three times they did not do what they were supposed to do so I would get my IHG points. The rooms are nice and the beds are very comfortable. They offer complimentary tea and coffee and fruit. Several times they had moldy oranges and usually the bananas were overripe or completely green. They have fresh cookies at the front desk some time in the late afternoon, but on all those stay... It's amazing how many hotels either don't clean the AC filters or don't do it often enough. This was one of the worst as it shows a lack of everyday preventative maintenance. If you have allergies or leave a hotel with breathing difficulties this might be the reason. The room itself was very clean so it's not the cleaning personnel unless it's their responsibility to clean them. The cleanliness of the room is the reason I didn't rate this as terrible.

Roomy suites but dated and quite dusty. The air conditioner was blowing in the living room area but not in the bedroom and it made for a very uncomfortable night. The bed was quite hard and the beddings spotted.

The Candlewood Suites is located on the east side of Kalamazoo. It is near the fairgrounds, and has an amazing amount of grass is have a dog with you. I love having a full size refrigerator in the room, etc. This hotel is not as new as some of the other suite hotels in the area. For this trip, we had problems with the A/c in one room (we were moved to another room right away), and our room keys would work and then not work. Maintenance was suppose to check the door on one day and never sho... Read more

I have stayed in nearly every hotel at this exit over the last 10-15 years. This was one of the best. It's new and clean. Beds are comfortable, although I am not sure if they have queen rooms--we had a double-double. Room was quiet and I slept very well. Be aware this is really set up as an extended stay which means there are some differences: No daily housekeeping, no breakfast, minimal toiletries (only shampoo and soap). Still, I would stay again as it is the best option in the area.
