We have stayed here before, and this is a good option when you are going to a concert or alike as I prefer to NOT have to deal with parking and traffic when I am enjoying a nice night on the town. Since this is the furthest away from Van Andel, it typically seems to have rooms while the other two are sold out. Despite this is a nicer hotel with better value for the money. While this hotel is far from perfect, it is still a solid option for people like us who enjoy a hassle free experience and ... Read more

This might be a nice place with the major reconstruction is done, but as of January 22, 2017, you're not a guest, you're a "mark." No service, not enough help and construction junk anywhere. Looks like they've taken a pass at the rooms, but the carpet is old and filthy. Good luck finding an electric outlet without crawling around under furniture. No hotel info in the room, no TV directory, no fan in the bathroom. New paint over pitted walls - and only one coat that didn't cover. Paint overspray ... Read more

I stayed here 1 night in December 2016 reserving the room and prepaying through hotels.com. My first impression, construction. The whole lobby was torn apart. I waited for a period of time before an employee appeared to assist me. She was able to locate my reservation through hotels.com and asked for a credit card for "incidentals". All good, slept fine. Woke up early, stepped in the shower...ohhh no hot water. Not even warm. A few weeks later upon reviewing my credit card statement I noticed n... Read more

We stayed here for a wedding that was in the area. We were satisfied with our room. The bathroom had great counter space and it was clean. The bed was comfortable and our room location was convenient. The hotel was undergoing construction while we were there, but it didn't inconvenience our stay. The bar onsite had karaoke. The few interactions I had with staff members were pleasant. The Front Desk clerk who checked me in did not tell me where to park or how to get to my room until I asked. Thi... Read more

Don't pay full price and ask about everything. I wanted to give a better review because I feel sorry for the employees working around the construction but, Wow. Check in was fine, the room was nice and the pool is beautiful and enormous and it wasn't even noisy in the room. But beyond that you're on your own and don't believe everything they tell you on the phone. This hotel is undergoing MAJOR renovations on every floor not just the lobby. The front "desk" (there is no desk, just some tables ri... Read more

We have stayed at the Riverfront Hotel for the last 5 years when in the GR area. Our last visit was very exciting, and after reading the reviews previous to our post, people need to give them a break, they have a lot going on with a real renovation. It's funny how people complain even when they are doing positive things to get the hotel to where it needs to be! We have always had wonderful service when we have stayed on the many occasions we come into town. While the hotel has been dated, we wer... Read more

What a terrible experience. If you are considering booking your wedding block with this hotel, or even booking a room in general, this is about to be a long review but if you want an indication of what you might experience when booking with this hotel, please read... We naively trusted this hotel to host our wedding guests by reserving a block of rooms with them. First of all, I began the process with one lady, who assured me that my block was placed and guests could start making their reservat... Read more

There really is nothing good to say about this hotel. The location isn't great and for a few dollars more you can be a lot closer to downtown as opposed to in the middle of nowhere off of the highway. First of all if you book off of a third part site, they will NOT have your reservation. This is usually not an issue considering most people have figured to stay away from this hotel and they have MANY vacancies. However, if you asked for a specific room, be warned you will get a completely differ... Read more

It looks like they're serious about improving it. They had worker (apparently non-union) working on Thanksgiving. Room was clean, if unattractive. Contained a filthy couch. Bed was comfortable, hallways were quiet enough to get sleep. It got the job done, and is by far the least expensive hotel near downtown Grand Rapids. Have stayed here twice coming to GR for concerts at the Van Andel arena. The free shuttle to the concert saves an Uber ride. So yeah, it's ugly as hell right now, and I... Read more
