This hotel had just opened a day prior so we anticipated many issues that are generally associated with anything new. Great hotel downtown that is historic, but modern (old building renovated to a hotel). The room we stayed in was a 4th floor king suite and had exposed brick walls, original wood floors, and lots of Windows. Large room with Full size fridge, microwave, & stove were very nice. Pull out couch if needed. The bed was not that comfortable. The auto/motion sensor bathroom lights were n... Read more

The hotel is a brand new redevelopment of a historic office building in downtown Grand Rapids. They were only open for 2 days and we were the first people to stay in the room. Very nice lobby and overall look to the hotel. Great view from room. Rooftop bar is fantastic. As with any new building there are some bugs to be worked out, but a very nice place and stay overall. Some noise from outside building - especially when bars closed at 2:00 am.

Rooms are nice and the whole place has a good vibe. KT, the bartender, at Lew's on Two was great for happy hour. Stayed on business but would return again for fun. Great location in the city with good stops nearby. Overall a good experience!!!!

The hotel is located in a perfect downtown area. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. JT was the bartender working and she was very entertaining and had great suggestions where to go downtown. Give this place a try and you will not be disappointed for sure.

I stayed at home wood the day after they opened and upon arrival I was impressed with the helpful and friendliness of the staff as well as how appealing the hotel was aesthetically. My king suite was gorgeous and I didn't feel like I was in a hotel but a downtown condo with a beautiful view. I got a chance to go to the rooftop bar and the staff there was excellent as well as incredibly friendly and accomadating. I wish I had another excuse to stay here!

Absolutely great location for this new hotel. The rooms are incredible! Exposed brick in the room, the bathrooms are bright and well lit. The kitchen area is well stocked with all the right items. The rooftop bar? Incredible views. Great service, KT and Courtney know their booze. Ask Courtney for one of her bartender jokes/riddles. They will definitely challenge you. Love it that the bar is for hotel patrons only, too many times in a city you are fighting for a place to sit with the locals. Not ... Read more

Been a loyal Hilton member for many years. Unfortunately this hotel should have delayed opening a bit longer in our view. Signage, wiring, and other work was incomplete making it challenging to get around. Workers throughout trying to complete work while guests are walking about. No bellmen or other assistance at the street entry and parking poorly marked. Odd motion sensor light switches in our room made it difficult for one to move about without waking another family member at night. Not... Read more

My husband and I called ahead for early check in and was told we would be accommodated only to arrive and have to wait two hours because they had already accommodated walk in guests. Automatic lights on in the bathroom which turn on whenever you walk in and lights up the entire room, disturbing your sleeping guest- not able to turn off. AC was broke when we arrived, ceiling fan didn't work. Parking was very expensive and not eligible to be validated. You could hear guests in the morning walking... Read more

The best part of the hotel is that it is centrally located to many downtown attractions. The negative parts: the parking is expensive, the air conditioning unit was VERY loud. We were there in a very hot time and had to keep the air on all night. It was very loud and would wake me us when going on or shutting off. Finally, the reception/check-in is on second floor and that is not obvious when entering from the street.

Where do I even begin? How about arrival. 1. I drove around the block 7 times. 7. I'm not exaggerating. The signage is almost impossible to see on a driveby, located at about 3rd floor height on the side of the building and way too small. Also, absolutely no signage directing hotel customers where to park. Luckily, my wife had checked in earlier that day and told me that the hotel uses the Ellis Parking garage, attached to the hotel. Parking is $34/day, and the hotel does not validate. 2. The ... Read more

We stayed 2 nights in this brand new hotel in July 2016. The hotel sits right downtown Grand Rapids within walking distance of many restaurants. We missed the hotel's sign and circled the block. There were no "loading/unloading" parking spots available- so we parked our vehicle down the street and walked. Grading a bit on a curve since they just opened, but this place as potential. Main downsides: The terrible motion-sensing light in the bathroom. It is impossible for someone to go into the bathroom without blaring light on the rest of the room full blast. This switch should be taken out and burned. Many rooms do not have windows that look outside. Our only windows looked out onto a very plain atrium area. No sky, just hallway and walls. Pros: Location is great. Decor is very modern - I like... Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff was helpful with all queries. Breakfast was okay, but it was free so I'm not going complain about it. They'll even shop for you! New hotel with interesting architectural details but poor execution of lighting, HVAC, and other in-room details. Digital key is clever but cumbersome. Bring a warm LED bulb or two if you don't like reading by daylight white, because for some strange reason, all the lamps use daylight CFLs, instead of warmer, more inviting options. Rooftop bar is cool, but only guests are allowed to use it for some reason.

We chose this hotel for its proximity to downtown and because it's a Hilton hotel. We were floored by the size of the room and its appeal. The hotel has been incorporated into a historic 1898 commercial building, which is very cool. I loved what the designers did with the hotel commons. However, the old wood floor sections of the resident room were extremely loud ("creaking"). The suites are amazing. Everything that you need. Full size refrigerator, dishes, cook top, even a cute little dishwasher. Tall ceilings with a ceiling fan made it homey. Only stayed 1 night but I didn't want to leave. Comfortable beds , instant hot water and great pressure in the bathroom. Bright make up lights above sink. Very clean room.

We stayed at the brand-new Homewood Suites downtown. The hotel is nice and the location is fabulous. All the rooms have a full kitchen. The building is a converted furniture warehouse and has some odd features, like interior windows that face into empty hallways, and a second-floor lobby that can be hard to find from the street. But we really enjoyed the room and location. We could walk anywhere downtown easily. The lights in the room worked fine - no issues with them turning on automatic... Read more

This is a brand new hotel in an old building. It has been remodelled in a boutique style. The quality of stay you will have, will depend on the room you are in. I was in a room with a window that looked into the interior of the hotel. For $198 a night, it was a rip off. It was a miserable stay for 5 nights when I had no idea what it looked like outside.
