The Amway Grand Plaza Hotel is simply fantastic! The views of the city are breath taking. Wolfgang Pucks and Ruth Chris dining experiences are second to none. The shoppes are convenient and stocked with the latest in fashions and gifts. The piece d'resistance is the WONDERFUL STAFF!! The entire stay is and has been fantastic. From Parking Attendants, the Bellmen, check-in and the folks that service the rooms, all exceed expectations. 5 Star experience is an understatement!

I have to say as a diamond Hilton HHonors member I am thrilled that the property has joined Hilton it's a nice hotel the lobby especially in the older part of the hotel is absolutely gorgeous the rooms in my opinion or just ok nothing spectacular by any means the service at the hotel is kind of hit-or-miss you have some people who go out of their way to be as friendly and as helpful as possible but others are very friendly but just not helpful for example my most recent stay I will admit I arriv... I was fortunate to stay at the Amway Grand when I was in Grand Rapids for business. My room was in the new "tower." The room was spacious and nicely appointed, and the views were excellent. The staff made the check-in process very pleasant, and throughout the stay everyone with whom I interacted was both professional and helpful. Be sure to have a drink at Cygnus27. The hotel is located within easy walking distance of art venues and restaurants. Definitely stay at the Amway Grand when ... Read more

Overall a fine experience. Staff is very good at all levels. Restaurants are fine. We had lunch at Wolfgang Pucks Kitchen and had appetizers at Cynus 27 and rate the service and food in both as excellent. The Lobby bar area was nice as well . the Lumber Baron Bar was ridiculously overpriced so we did not stay. Hotel Room was very clean and we had a great view (River view room) in room amenities a little lacking & do not reflect a luxury hotel (what no robe?!) But overall a very pleasant stay

We had Room 512 in the Pantland area of the hotel. A nicely refurbished room, large and comfortable. I was especially impressed with the staff. Every staff person that we met from management to housekeeping was equally friendly and helpful.

Amway Grand hotel is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. The hotel is super close to the river, has a variety of restaurants, coffee shops and retail stores in walking distance. I was in awe of the hotel as soon as I stepped inside. This place is huge. There is a couple of retail stores and mini mart inside. They have a couple of lounge area: 1 across from the check in desk which is the center of the hotel (breakfast is served there in the morning) and the second one is near the ball... Read more

From the décor, history, staff, amenities, and cleanliness, this hotel is exceptional mind-blowing. Above and beyond all expectations. The original section of the hotel was built in 1913 and the Amway and Hilton corporations did an excellent job in restoring it to it's glory has the Pantlind Hotel. The staff were always eager to help answer any concerns with a smile. I also strongly recommend dining at Cygnus 27. Not only is the staff super nice, the food is only comparable to the views. We have stayed at the Amway Grand multiple times, and it is always one of our favorite hotels. The rooms are large and comfortable. The hotel is impeccably maintained with a caring hotel staff. Attention to every detail, great restaurants, effortless and reasonable valet parking, a Starbucks, and a great swimming pool.

Good rooms, quite although small for area like Grand Rapids. More of a Big City hotel size. We stayed in the new wing. The Restaurant in Hotels are the best in the area. Go for Wolfgang Puck's restaurants and you can't go wrong. Swimming pool is nice and large. Better if heated but it is not.

I did not stay at this hotel but I visited my dad who was. He rented a corner suite on the 20th floor which was absolutely beautiful (room 2036 I believe). You walk in the room and are greeted with a "living room" area which has a blue suede couch, 2 stylish arm chairs, and the neatest looking coffee table I've ever seen. Down a small hallway is a very modern and spacious bathroom, and further down is a king size bedroom. But, THE VIEW is what you're paying for. Really spectacular. We watch... Read more

The Amway Grand experience has improved significantly since it became part of Hilton's Curio Collection. We had been staying at the JW Marriott when visiting family, but used Hilton points to revisit the Amway Grand and were pleasantly surprised at how much the experience has improved. no where on your site when you book that says the govt rate is NOT for retired Fed.. Walked across the street to Marriott and after telling our story, were offered friends /family rate. Much nicer hotel. Your hotel had no parking accommodations for us anyway and sent us to Marriotts parking garage.

This hotel was nice and great staff. When we went to check in, our room wasn't ready for almost 2 hours after check in, along with a number of other families. We had a stain on our sheets we noticed right before bed. Our rooms had no fridge, few outlets, and a small bathroom. The staff was really apologetic and did take a few dollars off the bill which was nice.

This is a beautiful grand hotel on the Grand River right downtown. It's two buildings - the old Pantlind Hotel building with beautiful old architecture and lovely rooms, grandly furnished. And a modern high rise - all connected by a lovely, large lobby, complete with some shops and restaurants - including the New Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck, a Ruth Chris Steakhouse, a Starbucks, and the intimate Lumber a Barons Bar and GP's sports bar. The customer service at check in is top notch and the new lobby and the old lobby are beautiful. The hotel offers several options for food, drink and or snacks if you care to stay on the property. Make sure if you need a fridge you do not stay in the historic side of the hotel. They do not have them except by request and they run out. This was a huge issue as they do not make this clear when you book your room. I was told the tower side, all the rooms have them but not on the Pantland side. However the historic side is INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL. It is well worth it. The staff for the entire hotel is very accommodating and excellent to work with. If you want to stay near the pool, stay i... This hotel is a rather large hotel, combining the historic Pantlind Hotel and the much newer and obviously recently updated Amway Grand. Together they make a really nice location for a large group or conference. It is confusing to get around at first, which elevator to take to go to which place, but again and again I was impressed with really well thought out features.
