This was a perfect place for my solo weekend in Detroit to see Love Letters on Tour at the Fisher Theatre. It just could not have been better. Both the hotel and Restaurant staff provided top notch service. Loved the location, accommodations, food and the special perk of having a connector to the Fisher Building. Thank you!

I travel a lot around the lower half of Michigan and this is by far my favorite. The staff is extremely friendly; the valet always remembers me, and the restaurant staff go out of their way to make the dining experience perfect. I only had one problem with a noisy neighbor and it was taken care of immediately. It is so nice to be remembered and made to feel special every time I stay.

Where to start? Maybe the rust in the bathtub with the water pouring out of the faucet, the torn curtain, or the extremely surly woman behind the desk checking us in making us feel like garbage because we weren't dressed to the nines? I won't be back and I certainly won't suggest anyone stay here! Frankly I'm amazed this place is in business! The ONLY redeeming quality for this hotel was the friendly valet. Another excellent experience at the St. Regis. The incredibly friendly, welcoming, kind, accommodating staff would earn my 5-point rating without the help of everything else the hotel offers. Beautifully appointed throughout, the hotel is immaculate in both its public and private spaces. Dinner at LaMusique before a show at the Fisher recently.. Everything very, very good. Short ribs, cajun pasta and baked whitefish special. Staff very professional and table set up very nice. Irma made it a special dinner! Park at the Fisher Theatre, short walk to St. Regis and back to the theatre for a show. Easy. Give it a try. The staff at this restaurant want a chance to serve you some good food and friendly service at a very reasonable price.

Our first experience here was being sent to a room that was already occupied. Luckily the inhabitants weren't having raucous sex at the time. Maybe an isolated incidence but unprofessional nevertheless. The search engine indicated that this hotel was downtown, which it wasn't: it's 10 min away by car. This is an average hotel, which is on par with Crown Plaza downtown and other hotels in this price range. The hotel has great service from every single staff member. The service blows away every other Detroit hotel I've stayed at (including MGM.) The food at the restaurant is quite good (get the ribs.) There is safe parking, but it is valet only. Uber to the ballparks is around $7.

Old building, clean rooms with updated tv's, service was average (aka fine). The hot water temperature kept changing in the shower (kept getting too hot) but better than the alternative. Wish there were mini-fridges, ice machines only on floor 3 and 1 and not the best way of keeping things cool. Hotel is located in New Town, somewhat inconvenient for downtown Detroit. Not a lot going on nearby, particularly at night, other than the Fisher Theater.

The hotel is in a sketchy area. The rooms definitely need updating. The bathroom drain came out of the tub and the shower head wouldn't move (it was aimed at the wall). The wifi never worked. One restaurant and it wasn't good at all. I had the fried chicken turned out to be a sandwich and the fries weren't cooked. Couldn't wait to leave.

I stayed here for 2 nights. The air-conditioning barely worked and the internet was slow and spotty. I was here on business, but was not able to get much work done in the room due to internet issues. The TV also did not get good reception. The room itself looks like some updates had been made, but the updates were not carried through to include the toilet or shower. The airconditioning was not working well, WIFI was awful, complained to the hotel staff who were not helpful at all. would certainly not recommend this hotel. No complimentary breakfast. Parking is only valet for 20$. What a waste. Save your money.

Location was in the area I needed, but everything else was horrible. I had no air during the heat of summer and just drip-sweated in my room. When I asked for an update on the AC they said they had someone working on it. Asked if they had a fan and they said all of their fans were already in use. The staff at valet we're very pleasant. The lady behind the check-in desk was also very pleasant. There was a full range of a nice toiletries in the bathroom. There were plenty of towels, they were clean, and they were not paper thin. The rooms were large, designed most likely 50 or more years ago so they actually had a bygone era feel to them. The hotel is grandiose, all surroundings and finishings remember the times of the 60's splendour and it is what I and my family really loved. The atmosphere of the GM luxury is still present there and it makes the hotel unique and interesting, besides the landmark it is now. This hotel is filthy. The only part that is clean is the entry area - appearing as if it is updated and elegant. Then you step over to the elevators and the real state of the hotel becomes clear. There is mold and patches all over the ceilings. (Makes you wonder what the quality of air is that you breathe while staying there.). The price is reasonable for this historic hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The only meal we had at the hotel was breakfast. The food was good and our server was lovely. There is also the New Center Eatery across the street from the hotel which was delicious and convenient. I only wish that I had researched the fascinating history of the area before our stay. This hotel looks elegant and feels quite old. There is only valet parking available. I didn't visit the restaurant so cannot comment. My room was on the 5th floor and the nearest ice machine was on the 3rd floor. The shower head! OMG! Horrible!
